Quick bit of reel action at about 8:10 was a nice touch. Another fun video to watch. I appreciate you bringing the outside inside for me since I can't always get out. Keep on fishin!
Hey brother I've enjoyed your video . Opening day of trout fishing here in my area is may 22 . For the past few years I've been going camping the day before opening morning and nothing much has changed. I get silly excited like a little kid. Been getting my gear together and marveling at my trout tackle that I've stocked up over the year 😜. Since it's still a couple weeks away I have been watching catch and cook camping videos. I came across your video and it's great thank you.
Man I love trout fishing I went a lot with my dad when I was a kid biggest rainbow I’ve caught was 16 inches. I’m now getting back into trout fishing I might try for some Brookies now you’re motivating me bro!
Love the 51 minutes video!!! Glad you got your Truck back , those tires do look good! Love the change in the weather and the color of those trout - Wow!!!
4 or 5 wt Temple Fork Outfitters fly rod with any reel and Orvis Hydros line is the way to go in my opinion. You’re not breaking the bank but you get great quality. I love the Hydros fly line. Casts like a dream. Usually, it’s best to go mid to premium on the rod, skimp on the reel, and go premium on the fly line. That’s just what I’ve done and it works great
One of your best videos bud good stuff Thanku for sharing another adventure.I’m like u love to be alone to take it ALLL IN.Nothing beats nature.NOTHING
If you like flinging hardware, try Super-Dupers or Kastmasters.super-duper is a bobby-pin kinda shaped lure that zig-zags through the water as does the Kastmaster, and another called a Z-ray. I like the trout and frog colors. They mimic wounded fish/frogs
Wish I went with you . I've not caught a trout in 4 years here where I live . Seems like they disappeared. Now that I got to carry oxygen I don't g3t very far . So I'm glad i got to watch somebody catch monster trout even if it's not me . Nice catch and keep 6our hook wet lol .
_I'm a pretty avid fly fisherman. There's a fly that I tie. That works great on trout and other fish species. I guarantee you that it'll help you get more confident fly fishing. Beautiful brookies though, and congratulations on catching some of them on the fly._ 💯💯
Man these are incredible fish. One thing, not sure if it's video editing or something but based on the footage all of these are out of water way too long. Trout are super delicate and even if they swim away fine can still die up to 25 hours from one occurrence. Never pay like this but want those beasts to live so someone else (me) can get one that size. Great video and haul though!
Good catch with lure!! I usually use dry flies and then when the fish are not active to dry flies I switch to the streamer that imitates fish rather than nymphs at lakes. Try to sink the streamers at different level of depths of the water and you might catch it easily
Great video. As for the question if it’s a good rod- it did the job. I personally like using fine tackle but yours didn’t hinder you one bit. What you’ll find with top shelf gear is easier casting and low swing weights. Specialized tapers make casting more enjoyable. And the build and materials quality will be much better. Also, they will come with lifetime warranty in case of a break. Plus made in America. If that’s important to you, invest in it. If not, rock what you have. I personally like Scott and Sage rods. But people have caught fish and had a blast doing it for many years on exactly what you have. Do what’s best for you and just get out there. If my budget didn’t allow for better tackle and the money to go fishing I’ll take lower end and getting out any day. Enjoy brother.
It’s good to spend more on a rod, but you definitely don’t have to during your 1st or 2nd season. And if you decide to get something nicer, put the money into the rod and fly line, rather than the reel. Again, you don’t need a 400-1000 dollar fly rod during your first few years of fly fishing.
@@ianlance7229yeah I don’t think the dude knows what he’s talking about, your not gonna go out and buy a $400 combo as a beginner who doesn’t know what he’s doing
That gold lure with red dots is what I used to catch three Igor trout and 2 of them were over 30 inches !! An awesome day for me I will never forget !!
Where you at, you don't need to say what lake or town but state, provence, country awesome video... I'm from Maine and we pride ourselves on the native brookies matter of fact I usually just walk out on my backyard and catch them in my brook... good luck...
Love your channel name is Justin I'm from Maine up by Canada I have thought since discovering your channel my opinion is your very talented easy to watch and enjoy maybe open up a guide service for trout fishing and by the way rock the cowboy boots I do all year round and f the snow flakes keep up great work
Just don't have slick soled boots on frozen ground. A buddy of mine one year was like watching Disney On Ice. If he fell once,he fell 100 times that weekend, going in icy water twice. My sides were sore from laughing
Picked up a custom built 9' 5wt. new never used Calaway with a Okuma reel for 30 bucks yesterday. Nothing like shopping at the local DI thrift store. My $500 dollar St. Croix is now my backup rod.
Those are some real incredible brookies, I can't ever recall seeing them in that shape before. But it also doesn't really make sense why they're that shape when they're not bigger.
3 to 6 weight rod. Sage or Scott. Spend the money on a good rod. Also I recommend fighting trout with your reel instead of stripping them in. Beautiful fish man
New subscriber. 20:28 - What a beautiful fish. Been really enjoying your videos. I've never caught a brookie. There aren't many in BC where I live. I must catch one - or many.
My favorite fish... and do yourself a favor load that reel up with some line I can hear it every time you cast that spool is only about half full to it's capacity... what a beautiful location my god I'm super j!!! I'm ADHD so forgive me about the fishing line...
Tried my hand at brown trout fishing for the second time ever after watching your videos. I caught everything but trout and dropped my phone in a deep pool and lost it.
We had a small lake full of brookies and browns that spawned every fall. It was a great self sustaining no need to plant fishing lake. Then the woke decided that they only wanted native cutthroats on the mountain. Came in on private property and poisoned all the brookies and beautiful browns. It seems commonsense is not common anymore.
What fly rod did you order? I got the Amazon choice (this being my first season fly fishing) and just took a trip to the Appalachian mountains and got on some nice rainbows and browns. They handle several pound fish pretty well. I’d change out the liter and line though.
I can’t believe I’ve missed so many older videos! But love binge watching them!!

Shout out to my brother for letting me use his fly rod... Actually, he doesn't know I'm using it.... LOL Your the best, brotha! I had a good laugh!
Those Jake's Spin-A-Lures are the business.

I'm gonna need an hour long compilation of just you casting and closing the bail

I've been flyfishing for around 40yrs. Some flyfishing rods and reels are better than others. I swear by Orvis.
I have been waiting for a good fishing video all day. Thanks!
Man, those are giant! They make my pb of 11 inches look like a baby
Beautiful video, what a great part of the country you live by. At 25:33 absolutely amazing footage! Thanks for sharing.
Nicely done! Awesome seeing I'm not the only one fishing with lures! Fishon!!

Nice - can't beat the colors of fall male brookies (although tiger trout give them a run)

My dad would always put a size 14 barbless on his indicator, just a tip, cause huge fish have always hit them never the small ones lol.

You obviously don’t know the feeling of a good fly rod, cheap rods are a piece of crap.

What lake is this ?
Underrated channel
Man it's raining here in north Idaho so I guess I'll just watch you fish. 😂
keep it up man love the videos i watch trying to better my channel and my fishing
Just plain beautiful fish.
Cooking tip... start your potatoes in room temp oil it going to insure that they cook all the way through which I think you did..
Par-boil them first and they're not as greasy
What a beautiful place, the weeds appear to have been cut!
I really enjoy watching your videos thankyou for sharing looking forward to doing what you are doing it's December here in Washington state .

Raspberry donuts are a essential camping/ hunting food
I contributed to the lack of fire wood at that camp spot🤣🤣 next year maybe I’ll run into ya down there😎
What lake is this? I’ll leave a lot of fire wood 😂
Low barometric pressure 😂 fish love it!
Not only catching those flies on fly rod but also on well flies, huh, who knew.
i would love to just travel and fish like this for a year
Learned something new. Brook trout do not taste as well when spawning! Thank you!
Love to see the fly rod action. Also, are those brookies stocked or wild?

@@gladegoodrich2297 because the brookies were originally planted by racists for sure.

Beautiful footage, and great fishing. Keep up the good vids. but I think you need more line on your spinning reel...lol
Yeah probably 😅
Good job men nice fishing 🎣
So, I think I've watched four or five of your videos now and I'm pretty sure you've worn the same thing in all of them. 😂
If you like catching native brookies and nice ones you should come try northern Maine you also have a chance at salmon and many others
@user-wu6os1tx2q native brookies are the best eating fish out there. Well in my opinion, but I grew up on them it’s pretty much all I fish for.
WATCH OUT FOR THE SQUATCH!!!! HE'S THERE...I SEEN EM!!! HAHA
Can I ask how you find so many high altitude lakes and ponds, I dream of doing what you do but don’t know how to find good lakes to fish? Any tips

Yes there is, a lot of bears to. They are mudclaws.
