    ▬ A NOTE ON USING LED LIGHTS AS HALOGEN BULB REPLACEMENTS ▬
    Aim your headlights AT LEAST once a year and ALWAYS after replacing the bulbs.
    If the cutoff is bad or you can’t aim them accurately or the light output scatters, it is NOT safe to use. Try a different style of LED or one with a lower output that will be more compatible with your light housing. See my other videos for more reviews.
    When I use the word “headlights”, I am referring to legal off-road use or fog light use only as replacing factory halogen bulbs with LEDs for headlights in the US is not currently legal nor a DOT approved practice. @@CarLightReviews You're welcome. I just installed the X2s, but they are non-adjustable. So, I'm swapping for X3S. Any advice on the X3S? X3S seems to be just as bright, just with an adjustable mechanism. I was tempted to get the X4s but I'm worried they'll be too bright. I have a 2017 Honda Civic Ex-T Sedan.

    I have Laxmas L2 as high beams and fog lights on my 2013 RAV4 and I'm extremely satisfied. I have the top of the line Hikari LEDs for my low beams and I'm replacing them with Sealight P1 next week because the Hikari's were installed after the Sealight and already failed twice, they were replaced under two year warranty but it's annoying so going with my trustworthy Sealight now.

    I recently bought a set of Xenower X2 for my 2013 Ford Edge. I do a lot of rural Night driving to work and I wanted something a little bit brighter to see the road and along the ditches. I’m really curious on how they’ll work during the winter here in South Dakota

    Thanks for your review as one of the best. I was wondering would you still take Auxito Y13 over Sealight as it has proven the quality?

    • @CarLightReviews
      @CarLightReviews  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks for the compliment. I may be slightly biased as I have been using the Y13 for the past couple of years in one of my vehicles. Pricing is in between the two in this video. It runs a little brighter, and a little hotter but it has better heat retention (by just 1%). However, it does have a longer warranty. If you read the Amazon reviews for the light on the right you'll find a lot of people complaining that the units die after about 6 months of use. The other problem that I'm finding is that they're not much brighter than the halogen bulbs and also they don't have a means to adjust or rotate the lamp assembly so that it's facing 9:00 and 3:00 position within the reflector.

    • @CarLightReviews
      @CarLightReviews  Рік тому

      Interesting. According to my tests, they are brighter after 27 minutes, but like you said not by much...around 120 lux. However, be default the emitters fire in the 9 and 3 positions...so I am unsure what the issue is there.

    • @basspig
      @basspig Рік тому

      @@CarLightReviews the problem I am having is that when the bulb is locked in place, the emitters are at a 30° angle, producing a poor beam pattern. There is no way to adjust without modifying the product by drilling a new hole in the plastic ring. I've ordered some X4s and will return these when the X4s are installed.

    • @CarLightReviews
      @CarLightReviews  Рік тому

      @@basspig There's something defective with them then, I am pretty sure that every light that is non-adjustable is positioned with the core vertically and the emitters firing left and right. If I am incorrect on this, it is a very very bad design.

    • @basspig
      @basspig Рік тому +1

      @@CarLightReviews One would expect so, but who knows if the angle is different for different car headlamp assemblies? Rotation doesn't matter for halogens so orientation of the housing clamp could be all over the map with different cars.

    • @CarLightReviews
      @CarLightReviews  Рік тому

      @@basspig In my experience, the OEM halogen housing has the "wire/plug down" orientation that most aftermarket LED lights have.

    I suppose for an Uber driver who drives all night, anywhere from 4 hours to 12 hours, no LED bulb would really suffice? Some say the bulbs only last a year, which is honestly normal for me, but maybe a year for the avg driver means 2 months to me? And seeing even a 10% reduction in output in just 27 minutes🫢 is just not acceptable, I’m only getting started after 27 minutes.

    • @CarLightReviews
      @CarLightReviews  8 місяців тому

      You won't find an LED headlight upgrade that doesn't have reduction over time. They all experience it, it is in the nature of the components. In the future, maybe...but not now.

    Does the lux value change for 9-3 orientation of the led change in the projector? What if someone installs the led at 12-6 instead as an example.

    • @CarLightReviews
      @CarLightReviews  2 роки тому

      It can vary based on the design of the projector, but typically yes, because the focus changes. Do you have a need to have them positioned differently than 9-3?

    • @RobsKoiPond
      @RobsKoiPond 2 роки тому

      @@CarLightReviews No, I was just curious to see if it made a difference in a projector Len's. Seeing as all light is directed to the magnifier to see if there was a difference in lighting regardless of bulb orientation.

    • @CarLightReviews
      @CarLightReviews  2 роки тому

      @@RobsKoiPond Sure does. Look closely at a projector if you can, you will see there is often a method to control and/or focus the light before it gets to the projector lens. Rotating it out of position changes that control and focus.

    What is the difference with the L 1 Laxmas and the 2 ?

    • @CarLightReviews
      @CarLightReviews  Рік тому

      I haven't tested it, but the L1 is similar to the L2, but it is an "all in one" unit...with an internal driver versus an external driver in the L2. While a more compact form factor, the typical tradeoff is heat and longevity. Lights with external drivers, like the L2, have better heat management and expected brighter light output over time as well as longevity.
      My suggestion is that if your budget and space in your headlight housing allows for it, get the L2 over the L1.

      @@CarLightReviews I read that a lot of manufactures advertise the max theoretical lab tested lumen numbers of the diode. They test them at max power, so hot that it would burn out soon. It's basically impossible to get in the real world. Real world lumens are much lower, the true lumen max is probably no more than 3,000 lumens.
