      Why bother? Not like other cars have holes for the horn. It just creates more drag.

    Never driven the Hyundai, but have driven my buddy’s 2018 si coupe. I think that si is seriously under rated, car is awesome! (I drive a fiesta st). With that being said, I am personally more interested in the Hyundai. I like seeing the brand become a serious contender. If I could help it at all though I’d pay the extra fee grand for the N.

    The SI is a lot better. I test drove both cars and the SI is sitting in the driveway. It does have a strange clutch if you're trying to drive around grandma but if you're driving with a little agression, the clutch, gearbox and brakes are perfect.

    These Honda Civic Si’s and Hyundai Veloster Turbo/Elantra Sport are the two best value sporty everyday cars on the market rn that will run forever. As a hatchback user that values real cargo space, the Veloster Turbo would probably be the choice, but as you said, the Honda Civic Si outmatches the Veloster slightly in just almost every aspect. And I do think the Si’s manual shifter is better than Veloster’s, reverse gear should always be away from the driver.
    Everybody sings the Subaru WRX swan song until their headgaskets blow and they have to fill up for gas. Everybody sings for the Corolla Hatchback and Mazda3 until it takes them ten agonizing seconds just to reach 60 mph and they get out-maneuvered while merging in traffic by a V6 minivan. Say what you want about the Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86 being the best affordable lightweight sports coupe, but like the Mazda miata you just can’t have any friends or family members without leaving them in a parking lot

    I purchased the Si sedan a month ago as my daily. The Hondata flash makes a world of difference in waking up the engine. It’s how it should have come from the factory now. But I think it’s a great all around car that can’t be beat for the money.

    • @andrewbond7949
      @andrewbond7949 5 років тому +26

      SavagexRaccoon It still has rev hang after the base tune was installed. I’ve gotten used to it and for daily driving it doesn’t bother me much. What bothered me much more was the engine running out of steam after 5k. But the tune is so good that it makes the stock setting feel very underpowered in comparison.I’ve modified and tracked Honda’s for 25 years and these new turbo engines are nice for the street but lack the sharpness and excitement of the old NA engines for track work and fun runs. My sons Type R is a lot of fun but it needs a loud mode from the factory. Another must have for the Si is the gas pedal relocate kit from Acuity which makes heel toe a breeze. But I do enjoy the Si as a daily and have zero regrets buying it. In my opinion it’s a no brainer for the price.

    Have a Civic Si. I am relatively old for the target market but have to drive a lot and don't have the ability to have an electric car. The Civic Si makes me money on mileage and is a blast to drive in the city traffic. Very excited to go out in the country with it next week and drive the Coronado Trail. I don't care about big engine noise and such, in fact would rather it be less than more because I drive a lot. I could have a more expensive car, but the Civic goes all in on conveniences in its design giving more than cars 30% more expensive. I did a lot of research before buying and am in love this car.

    alot of people say "resale" value makes the honda better. This is true for years 05-15. Hyundais we crappy throw away cars that were selling at the time for as low as 8k. fast forward to our current day models. THEY ARE BUILT BY AUDI DESIGNERS NOW! resale on a hyundai base model is not good even to this date but has improved nearly 17% over 2016-17 and 23% for 2017-18. This upward trend started when hyundai started producing sleeker safer and all around more value for you buck. If we fast forward a few more years, these sport models, and N model tuner cars are going to hold value long into the future, especially if hyundai does limited runs. I also own an Elantra Sport tech 2018. Amazing car and it has a turbo and comes track tuned. These are perfect.......CHEAP..........tuner cars. Give hyundai a few more years and they will establish an even stronger brand in the americas and all these older models will go up in value as time goes on. TRUST ME. its not my first rodeo.

    In the US, you can find the Veloster Turbo Ultimate Manual for the same MSRP of the Si. The Si in the US is not optioned as well as Canada, no Nav or LEDs so the Veloster is much better equipped. Moving the seats forward a bit for a second passenger or third passenger (though preferably 2 max due to driver seating position. I’m 5’6” and a smaller person would be cramped sitting behind me.) I work in construction in LA. My trunk is loaded with 3 bags of tools and then some and i have some room to spare back there. Hey guys, I just wanted to leave a hopefully helpful comment. I came across your videos a couple days ago and I really like them. But your audio mix has way too much sub bass. It's not an issue with most headphones or laptop/tablet/phone speakers. But with good headphones it's kind of annoying, and with my home system it makes your videos unwatchable; my subs are booming so much with the constant drone of road noise during the driving sections that stuff on my shelves are rattling nonstop. If you're editing with general headphones, you probably don't notice. I would request you to roll off the bass on your audio mix below about 30Hz, as that would make a world of difference for me personally and anybody else with the same issues.
    I recognize that this is basically peak first world problems, and I normally wouldn't even mention it as I don't want you to change your whole workflow just based on one person's niche scenario. But it's really the only thing keeping me from enjoying your videos right now when I watch on my home TV or with my good headphones. Otherwise, the content is great and far above your subscriber level.

    I own the si in black. I love the LSD and active dampening.

      the lsd and active dampening are legitimate reasons to purchase this car, ESPECIALLY in the $24k Range.

    I don't like the new veloster turbos. I have a Veloster Turbo Ultimate Package 2013 & people still give me wild looks when I pull up. It's curvyer & not boxy like the newer ones... and all Tron blue accents & gages instead of red which every car has. Annnd I get a free new engine from Hyundai so only 11k miles! Best car I've owned & it's like a secret club because you just don't see many of them & they are so unique looking. Plus so much space inside for a small car on the outside.

    Pretty sure you can get the Hyundai Veloster N with 250 hp for the same price as the Civic Si. So why is this even a comparison?

    I'll pick my 2019 Si over a Veloster any day

    I'd get the Veloster because 1) fanboy and 2) double the warranty.
