Best intro EVER!!!

I really didnt understand that when I heard it and am very disappointed in myself
The fact that Hyundai even make something people can make video comparing it to the Type R is a WIN for Hyundai.
LeeROBD Hyundai won TCR cup which uses FWD hatches.
let's be real now Hyundai is better than most of Japanese now..Genesis on par with Germans
brown bobby agree!!
brown bobby Hyundai with Albert is the best. They did well recently
LeeROBD agreed
8:01 The N made their infotainment like a Gran Turismo video game, like how you can customize engine, suspension, etc. I would buy that car just for that alone
Honestly Honda's info in general is one of the worst. It needs a serious overall.
@@DragonKnightX12 ye
lmao Who tf uses the factory info nowadays? Apple CarPlay & Android Auto all the way.
@@johnpierson2737 Honestly I live in Europe and I never heard of or seen Apple carplay and android auto. It's only trough youtube I know of these features. Maybe they exist here and just nobody is using them idk.
Absolutely.
Hyundai has got to be the most improved car maker over the last 5 years.
Nah kia is
Improved from junk.
@@bryanwelch6209 every car brand has
@@VastHorizons71 Kia is the same thing as hyundai, just a different badge 😂
Korean cars are junk, incomparable to Japanese perfection.
I bought the Veloster N after seeing your first review of the car months back (upgraded from Civic Si), and this is legit my favorite car I've ever owned. I do wish it were slightly more practical, but outside of that I have no complaints, the driving experience is way better than any $30k USD car has a right to be. The Civic Type R which I cross-shopped was a great car too, but the exhaust and infotainment sold me on the car.
Oh and it's Performance Blue. As it should be.
Send us a pic
Blue makes it look like a girls car. I'd rather get mine in black.
do u still have the Veloster N?
I changed my Genesis to a veloster 2016 and i have fun but the N Line exhaust is just soooooooooo juicy lol
The exhaut is music to my hear
The fact that you even have to THINK about which one you'd rather take home speaks volumes for the veloster.
I drive a Golf, but I'm 67,a popping exhaust and rev matching would be sooo good! my son is 32 and you two remind me of him,you do a very energetic and watchable presentations.Keep it up!
Before you consider a new one of these consider a used 6th gen camaro!
-32k for 5k-20k miles
-launch control
-rev match
-leather with heated/cooled seats
-magnetic ride(suspension management)
-455 hp/tq
-v8 plus crackles
Etc..
@@thesteeners why? The N will blow the doors off of it.
Electronic dampening control, c7 pulls a 1.7G skid, the N - I've already pulled a 1.9G turn...no problem and have the G-meter to prove it.
@@thesteeners 30k for brand new, launch control, Rev match, E-LSD, gunshots > v8 crackles....prob should research the N cuz it blows the c7 out of the water around the Nürburgring. And you were not even talking about a c7 which is better than you're beloved 6th gen Camaro...

The Hyundai Veloster N is to the world what the 90's Honda Civic Si was. One of the best performance per value. While the Honda Civic Type R is currently destroying Toyota Supra’s on track lap times.
Dreamy yes! I have a 2020, Its so good to drive
I've been saying for a couple years now that Hyundai/Kia are doing in the 2010s-2020s what Honda/Acura did in the 90s-2000s. Amazing performance to price ratio, good tuning potential and high aftermarket support, and honestly pretty damn reliable.
Toyota supra is a BMW....
I’m just in awe of how you guys filmed and edited this. It took me a few minutes before I realized that you are in separate cars, yet still having the same back-and-forth conversation your videos are known for. Superb job!
If you notice, they're on their phones. On of ems wearing his headphones with mic... So they are actually having their usual conversation.
I bought a Veloster N and have put about 2,000 miles on it so far and I have to say it is the most fun car I have ever driven. The exhaust, handling, and how surprisingly hard it pulls is just pure euphoria. In the US we miss out on a lot of the creature comforts but still so worth it for me!
FINALLY THE COMPARISON IVE BEEN WAITING FOR!
Amen!
They still have so much of a price gap 😅
I wish the Civic had a decent exhaust and white wheels!! If North America got the i30 N (un Europe the Elantra GT is sold as the i30 and they get an N version for those who don't know) I would choose that in a blink of an eye. But I am conflicted like Yakub.
I'm a 51yr old female and have the veloster N... I love it.. I also love the type R... I live in the US and got sick of the BS markup here at every dealership practically..so went with the N and don't regret it..Can't go wrong with either one..Just comes down to preference and pocket book. Love the review and how fair you were with both cars.
I just found your guy's channel and I absolutely love the energy and excitement of them. Amazing dynamic for car reviews!
the veloster sounds like the civic looks, if that makes sense :D
Veloster sounds loud, the civic looks loud. ?
no the veloster sounds good
I thought the Veloster sounds great, not Ugly!
Totally! The Civic looks crazy but sounds like my aunt's Camry!
Bro I saw a type r 2019 today and that shit hella ducking sexy ngl like I really want that shit now it’s actually a lot bigger irl was surprised
22:38. Couldn't agree more. That exhaust on N is frikin amazing. 😭♥️
Sounds straight out of rallycross. So nice.
Yea even better in person man, sounds like actual gunshots
17:44 is the first time I wanted a veloster n.
those shift lights AND that exhaust damn!
"How does FWD oversteer?"
You tapped the brake when you felt the understeer and shifted the weight back to the front of the car. Once the rear end got light under braking, it started to come around.
Source: Did that in my Honda once
3 doors, or 3 exhaust pipes. Hmmmm decisions decisions.
Lol
Hahaha
the middle exhaust on the Type R isn't even a real exhaust pipe. Theres only two openings in the muffler coming off the back so the middle exhaust pipe is just a closed pipe.
@@Laz4Life3 theres a reason for that middle pipe. google it.
Tyler Hurwitt your wrong the middle pipe is not closed off from the inside the middle is opened the fumes go in and rebound back and thru the left and right pipes its to minimise drone and noise & and all three tips are opened get it right buddy.
I feel like, I am addicted to this Straight pipers’ energy, Y N J Rocked as always.!!!
Phew, this channel comparison has over 200k views in two days while that other one has less than 40k. There's justice in this world ! Keep it up guys. Pro editing as always :)
Saw an I30 N in the same color as the veloster yesterday. Looks so nice.
The production value on this video is through the roof. I really like how you are actually talking with each other on the headsets. Great video!
5 seconds in the video already love the new intro. This intro is an instant classic!
Loved the comparison on these cars and I still have to go with the type r myself. The exterior has grown on me and the interior looks amazing
I love the Hyundai for the customization of the whole car so you can drive it like a normal veloster turbo or a crazy poppy awesomeness
This is an awesome comparison review. You guys nailed this one.
I need to go driving right now!!! That video was so much fun, I gotta hit the track. Thanks fellas! Best Canadians on UA-cam. 🙌🏾👊🏿🧔🏾 🇨🇦
Enjoyed the video. I've been going back and forth with the CTR for the past few years. First it was dealer mark up, 5-10K in Atlanta. The rear wing , overly bolstered seats for daily driving. Now the CTR has a suede steering wheel . Wished that Honda would offer option delete or offer a milder styled version with the same suspension/engine. Hoping that Hyundai will offer the i30 N here in the US. For those blowing me off because I'm geezer I own a '91 NSX & a '05 WRX.
In Puerto Rico the difference between the N and the Type R is $15k!!
Hmm great now I'll get one from there and bring it to Dominican Republic just at a small water channel of distance ^^
Hector Fonseca the difference is about the same in the states. Type-R is $9,000 more at msrp, but dealers are marking them up at least $5,000, so it’s about $14,000 more than the Veloster N. The Veloster N really seems like the better buy, especially with how much better it looks
Honda Type R is an amazing car. Bella International is an awful dealer and those suckers have exclusiveness. That's why they mark up the price so high. The same goes with Trebol Motors. I have an 2016 WRX STI Limited and it cost me little more than 40K. Now you know how much they sell that car in PR, Right?
@Niq ger Lel No es pq sea Honda o BMW o el carro que sea son los dealers de carro que estan elevando los presios para ganar mas y eso hace que el consumidor se aleje no se porque las companias de autos no se meten y paran esta clase de practica
Absolutely loved this comparison, you should do these more often! Keep it up guys
Dammit! You guys made me finally turn on my first notification for any channel! Must see these 2 on track! Thanks 4 the awesome videos! So far, N for me
I just purchased 2019 Veloster N WHITE. I LOVE THIS CAR. Bang for your buck, hands down beats the Civic Type R. I enjoy watching your videos. I'm a 45 yr old kid. So cars have no age limit!
Ugh so jealous!!!

@@mandomaldonado4498 stinger? Nice!
Beats the Type R hands down? I wouldn't go that far, but the Veloster N is really cool too. The Type R is everything Honda does well in one car, though. That said, Hyundai/KIA are disrupting everything with tons of really great cars.
Oh man...envious, or should I say 'N-vious'. Great job and enjoy...such an amazing ride. Going for the Genesis GV80 myself when it comes to Canada (might wait until year 2...I don't buy cars the year they come out)

Ok, hilarious that you actually included the part number for the passenger side visor on the Veloster. Another great comparison review, thanks!
Man you guys do a great job of making these car review videos super entertaining.
I think the veloster with the type r engine and keeping all the features and sound will be the hottest hatch ever specially that system that lets you customize the tune of the car

Gotta give props to Hyundai. 10 years ago Hyundai wasn't even in the same league in performance.
A little longer, Hyundai Genesis came out in 2008, and those are still great today.
@@MarshalBeard oh yeahhhhh, but for this fwd to take on a car that's so highly regarded, it's impressive.
Totally agree with you. Can you imagine 25 years ago if I Said that Hyundai had just launched a car to compete against the EK9 type R? People would laugh. Hard.
Yea I went with the N. I always think of that quote from fast n furious "what you think I'm gonna let you roll in a Hyundai" but I've been paying attention to Hyundai/Kia and they have passion in there cars I see in them what Honda had in the 90s. I mean I love the type R but what has Honda done in the last ten years except for the NSX and Type R not much I think they are finally waking up again.
@@nstylemotorsportsracing1471 I think of the exact quote and I too believe Hyundai has passion in there cars. I've got a 2018 Elantra Sport and an 03 Tiburon (lol). I also had a genesis for a short period.
I love both cars and I love the Straight Pipes! Super exciting video today, keep it pumped up!
I'm in my 30s and test drove a veloster N yesterday and absolutely loved it. I'm mini trucker at heart so being different is what I want. Hopefully I'll be picking up an N in a few months.
This is one of first vids I see of ya’ll and this is one of the best, if not the best, comparisons I have ever seen. Like the format of the video, back and forth Very smooth. Dope!
Love the channel. U guys make it great. It just works.
Less than 10s in and you guys are showing how big of a pair of dorks you are... love it!
I love the samurai style inspired Honda civic front end.
The 90's civics was the Ninja style inspired Honda civic front ends.
Veloster N is hands down a better deal. I can get one fully loaded right now for $29k out the door. Type Rs are still being stupidly marked up to $40k
Ace D found one in IL for 22g for a Veloster N looks hella beautiful
@@skynation5538 hell yeah! Saw a black one without performance pack for $23k in Seattle
Ace D lol cheaper than a SI thats for sure hahah
Yea people seem to be missing the Type r is a 35k car with a crazy dealer markup when you cN get the Hyundai fully loaded for 29. Put a tube on it would make just as much power as the type r
And there’s a lot of used type rs I wonder why
Watching this vid in my 2019 Civic Type R Aegean Blue....both great choices that come down to specific driver preferences......but that Veloster N exhaust🤯....oooh weeeh
i thoroughly enjoyed this comparison thanks yuri and jakub
Already a fan, but your Castanza reference made me even appreciate your sponsor plugs.
I think I would go for the Veloster. I like coupe looking hot hatches. Like the VW Scirocco. Who thinks tha doesn't look good?
Saw a Scirocco at the caffeine here in Atlanta a couple months ago. The car has aged well. Owned a red '76 years ago.
Great extended length feature and great rolling shots in the editing! Cant wait for your N-line review!

I really enjoy your content and how you deliver it. I'm still a type r fan however I do wish they offered that same exhaust like the n! That car sounds magical. Also wish the type r just did the 3 seats across the back;)
I can't believe that I'm saying this but I like the Veloster.
Why? It was made by Albert Biermann....
Will you say that after the third engine? Korean crap.
@@Tsalinger what are you talking about? These things are really well made. My family has had multiple 300k+ mile Hyundai's over the years...the incident with the 2.4 was a bad machining of the main bearings that would cut off oil flow, at least Hyundai did the right thing and recalled the engines rather than idk Checy's lock cylinders, or Ford and Nissan's CVT's going out, etc. Every car manufacturer has troubles, but at least with Hyundai you can trust in quality, price, safety, economy, warranty, etc...why don't you drive one then see what it's like instead of putting it on blast cuz you're butthurt that your $60k+ Dodge Challenger just got smoked by a Hyundai....

Im in university and i have already decided that as soon as i graduate, i am getting a Veloster N. That being said great comparison video! But the exhaust, the infotainment and the price difference makes the choice easy for me!
Collin Daigle engine not as special
Type r is a way better car , u can change the exhaust
Ali Kh yea good luck after that dealer mark up. I have seen upwards of 15,000 markups
You'll love the Velsoter N. We drove one on Laguna Seca a month ago and its one of the best fwd 4 cylinders Ive driven hard. Even cruising around town the suspension isnt too harsh. One of the dealers back home in Colorado was allocated 5 of them and they all sold under MSRP, cant say the same for the type R....
Great video. Thank you for all the honest insight, and while I adore the Type R, here in euroland we get the i30N Fastback. I just saw one in the flesh recently on the Autobahn and damn it’s a looker!!
too bad the i30 N will never set foot in North America 😒
i30, wish we had that here. I have a Focus ST but would sell it for an i30 in a heart beat
The type R looks amazing! R u guys filming in Milton? It looks like my neighborhood. Awesome vids btw

Awesome, great meeting you. Sick car
The video I've been waiting for since February of 2018
Dam that Veloster’ looks are really starting to grow on me...
I want it 💀
It's truly a great car man, way better than all the heat all these Honda fan boys are putting on it. Course if I spent $10-$30k+ markup on it, I'd be butthurt too when the Civic is barely edging out the N stock v stock. Once their modified, the N blows the doors off a Type R (modified v modified)
If its available where you live get the i30N, basically the same car just better looking
Shums Ghost I don’t think any type r owner is butthurt plus you can’t do a modded vs modded opinion when there’s a ton of mods
The antisocial 1 they look sick asf
@mojo mojo on top of that, I have test driven both the Type R as well as the Veloster N. The price for a Type R around me was also highly marked up as well, dealers taking nothing less than $60-$70k which is just a complete rip off for it. I'll gladly take my $30k N. Even if it is only a touch slower. The setup is there for the N to be the quicker car around tracks. It truly is a corner rascal. And finally, Honda for some reason I just guess figured, "hey since everyone that buys a civic typically rices it out, let's just take care of that from the factory." Cuz the styling is a bit hideous (however, that is a matter of personal opinion and taste). Lemme guess though, you own a Civic Type R right?
Hmm I’d pick the veloster
If I weren’t a poor student

same. for that reason, I chose the civic. except not a type R. and also a 1997. : /

The veloster is so unique too that no one will know what I’m driving so that’ll have a cool effect.
Thank you guys for the awesome reviews and I appreciate all the work you guys put into these videos!
I've been going back and forth between these two as well, and I think the Veloster gets my vote. The styling is more subtle compared to the Type R, the exhaust pops are fun, and I really like the refresh done interior wise.
Also, prices on used Type R's are still too high here in the U.S.. If I could get a Type R under 30k, I would be on it though. Thank God hot hatches still come in manuals.
@Jackson Whitlow No they have not. Their engines have been having horrible failures in the Sonatas and the turbo engines don't fare so great either.

It's on patreon now
@ 6:48 -=- Seeing you bounce around. Reminds me of a 1979 Porsche 911 SC that I road in one time.
I’m in my 30’s and I never understood that age argument, who cares what people think you should get what you like.
Doesn't make sense...how many people in their 30's can really afford these cars much less people in their 20's who are just trying to establish themselves in life!
Economic reality of it for the average person in the UK, is that you are probably going to be in your 40's and 50's before you have accumulated enough assets and spare cash before you can comfortably afford these. Otherwise you'll be the 30 year old living in a rented flat driving around in a relatively "expensive" car, and with no savings. Obviously, if you are doing better than average this is not an issue.
I've actually been considering both of these for my next car in a year or two. I think I'd go N over R for the savings and because I'm so accustomed to the Hyundai infotainment, plus the styling of the Type R is still a little too much for me. But then again, I'm still not crazy about the three door thing either. It's tough, I'd have to drive both of them, and that would probably make it even tougher. Then again, I'm in my 30s, I should probably just get a Golf R.
consider a Subaru maybe
@@Rexcornetto I would in a heartbeat if it still came in a hatchback.
ah okay I get you, I'd just get a Golf tbh
Yeah I've been trying to decide between the N and Type R as well, I would probably go with the N mainly because the price difference. Can't get a used Type R under 30K here in the states. Golf R seems a bit too plain for me, but I respect looking like an adult.
That intro reminded me of the Jeep track hawk review by you guys,😍 👋👋✌️✌️😃

Great review. Both are excellent performance compact cars- a dying breed sadly. I spent weeks shopping both but ultimately went with a slightly used CTR- avoiding the absurd dealer mark ups. Researching both cars ad nasueum, the Hyundai depreciation was pretty steep and quality issues after warranty were the deal breakers for me. The seats in the Honda are also the best I’ve ever sat in- they’re amazing. After 2 track days and blistering cars twice it’s price (including 2 N Hyundais that were right on my tail) the CTR was brilliant and confirmed my decision. Ultimately, it’s a personal choice and both are great fun for anyone wanting an engaging, connected driving experience.
Really awesome front driver's amazing alternative to the GTI.
Great video, very entertaining to watch.
Thanks for sharing.
Maybe this will inspire Mazda to do a Mazdaspeed 3 once again
Not sure if it will carry the Mazdaspeed badge, but they are releasing the new 3 with a 2.5 turbo! The aftermarket can do the rest.
@@jesh879The 2019, or in 2021 or something?
You guys are making awesome videos, really well produced and not too long either. Keep 'em coming.
Bought a 2020 VN in racing red, amazing car!! Everyone loves ir
What are the odds that these guys are doing this video in my town. I literally just came across this 😂
i bought the 2019 honda civic Type-R last week and currently use it for daily driving for work, even work KM on it. ive pushed 1000km on it already in the last 7 days and i gotta say the daily driving in this car is actually great.
Type R with Veloster N exhaust = perfect combo
Abso-fukin-lutely
Picking up a 19 Veloster N tomorrow. Been watching all the reviews and now I am super stocked to pick it up. I had a 13 Veloster Turbo and loved it, so I know this will be better.
How do you like it?
You guys are GEEKING OUT so much... Which is totally cool.
🙏🏻🚘🚙🙏🏻Awesome video you two!! I absolutely love the channel!!! I just bought a Sonic Blue Pearl 2019 Civic Type R two weeks ago and I love it!! I have really enjoyed everything about it!! I have never driven a Veloster but from your video and a few others I have watched it sounds like a great car!!! I like them both !!! Thanks for another great review!!! Have an amazing weekend!!! God bless!!!🚘🚙🙏🏻
My friend bought a new hunday, then sold it after six months and bought a new cw fk8. The last time he was so exited, was when he bought an fk2 R 😅 u made a good choise.👍
🙏🏻🚙🚘Aljosa Pozenel !! Right on!!! I have been enjoying my Type R!! That’s awesome your friend bought an fk2 R, that sounds fun!!Have a great rest of the weekend!! God bless ya!!🙏🏻🚙🚘
I have a 2015 WRX, but I've always wondered what it was like to daily a Veloster. Type R styling seems a little too crazy for me but it's only a few hops away from a STI tbh. I love the auto rev matching, keep up the great vids!
I came from a 15 Rex to the Type R - big change, do miss AWD in winter but the Rex is such a great car too.
@@EvanMcC240 how does it feel? Driving an STi right now. Quite tempted.
@@BlitzzGames Its very Honda in how it feels - precise, tightly engineered, but it's much more muscular and substantial feeling in control weights and very very good body control than I was expecting. Had it 1.5yrs and the ride still blows my mind every day. Its potentially a bit faster in a straight line but splitting hairs maybe. It's more of a chassis car. Great great driving position. And bigger than an STi for sure if that matters to you. Also better on gas :-) - I'm in Canada so getting about 10.0L/100km about 24mpg city without trying.
hyundai has better ride quality than both the type r and wrx
@@roxyroller25 Dang really? I just blew like $2k on some upgrades for my car, it will all seem in vain if I test drive the Veloster and like it ugghhhh
Bought my Racing Red Veloster N with Performance package. Haven’t looked back since. Still breaking her in but enjoying it to the max as I approach 600 miles.
Congrats bro.. Hoping to get one soon too
I just subscribed. I like the very positive and friendly nature of the comparison.
Thanks
