Un MONUMENT ce Ray BENSON.......il a créé le meilleur groupe de western-swing depuis les 70's, c'est le fils spirituel de Bob WILLS. Grand merci pour le partage, j'étais au fan club de AATW pendant 15 ans.
I've been coming to see The Wheel for 30 + years and have never seen the same show twice. I love going to shows where the players are enjoying it as much as the audience 🙌
I've listened to Ray Benson off and on for 40 years. One of the bands I was in even opened up for "the Wheel" back in the day. He's always had a tight band but this ensemble just pops for Ray. Only 30 minutes in so far and had to pause to say...really a great arrangement of Route 66, love Katie's playing, singing and ever present smile. She's a pro. Well, they're all pro's and I don't think Ray Benson and Asleep At The Wheel have ever sounded better. Thanks to this channel for posting this up. It's a treat!
First time I saw A Sleep at the Wheel was at Tulsa Oklahoma at the Fair Grounds along with Willie, Waylon, Jerry Jeff Walker,Lynyrd Skynyrd, 1976 I was 16 years old
I cant believe I missed this show. I just found it here on youtube, if I knew I would have done the 1 600km from Portugal to Evreux. I guess it was the best show of Asleep at the Wheel I ever saw. Ginny Mac, unbelieveable, the power she gives to the band, Flavio from Rome is a great sucessor for Eddie Rivers. 50 years carreer, They just continued the heritage of Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys.
It’s so great to hear these songs once again. I remember them from my childhood a long life time ago. Thank you each and everyone of you for the blessed memories. My god always look over you.
My friend told me this about his girlfriend, "She can't wrestle, but you aughta see her box!!!!" Also, Asleep At The Wheel plays all of the fine music and hopefully, they'll have many, many GREAT YEARS IN THE FUTURE!!!!!
I have always liked them, but I am sorry that they only had 1 top 10 song in their 50 years of performing, The Letter that Johnny Walker read, awesome song!!
WILL BE @ Tampere, 🇫🇮, Fin Aug 21st 24, that s 3 days from today. Saw em @ NOLa jazzfest, 88. (Also Little Feat, Al Green ..one million others). Seems like this lineup is a far cry from the AATW of 80s.
Why the womens mics are constantly under and more silent? Weird.. Good voices coming out, give them some space.... And yes, I understand the thing called back vocals. Gig drummer for 19 years.
Sorry about this. I've always been a major fan of AATW; but with the exception of Ray, it sounds like the band has lost its will to live. Ray's voice and his playing still kick ass though.
I don’t want to spoil anyone ‘s enthusiasm , but this performance is sloppy. Have a look and to Johan Blohm, John Hobbs or Bob Mater and realize Ginny Mac isn’t the best choice to join AATW.
OMG! Ray Benson, Katie Shore and Ginny Mac on the same stage all having fun with the music.. Evreux, you are so lucky!

Gave it "thumbs up" after the first two songs. To quote Ralph Malph: they still got it!

OMG. What a lineup. ❤
Some shit never gets old! Thanks Ray!

What does this joke have to do with this music?
Going to see them on the 18 and I cannot wait
I hit the like button three seconds in!!!
The absolute best thing from
Texas, the music!
Thank you very much for posting this. My heart is full :)
This song brings joy to my hart, being a 5 generation Texan. Love Western Swing, Ray Benson and TEXAS!

Your band is great.
Fantastic video....been a fan since the very start....love their version of Sleepwalk !

I swear his voice gets better with age.

I wonder why Katie Shore ran off stage and then come back!! Sure miss Elizabeth McQueen being in the band!!
She broke a string.
Goes to show how important the fiddle is for this kind of music. They can play without her but it sounds so much better with the fiddle.
I thought she might of had to go to the little girl's room real bad...😂
I know man!
I miss Elizabeth McQueen also! Her voice added SO MUCH to this sound!

Sound engineer doesn’t know what he’s doing. Riding stuff way too much. Needs to leave the mics on.
When did Ray grow all the hair?
the past piano player was a monster

On the Jude
I miss Katie.
Loving that Whore House piano jig.
Not like it used to be :/ Great job nevertheless
I think the sound on this video is subpar. So many pieces and voices cannot be heard in the mix. They need to studio engineer this video
Studio engineering is for studios; this sounds Ragged But Right to me!
