I really love how you genuinely advocate for trying to make people's ferrets lives better while also not being cold or condescending towards people who can't make changes as large or as quickly. Videos like that can quickly make me feel isolated and unwelcome, small things like you taking the time to say "I realize not everyone is in a circumstance to 100% free-roam" really make me feel more welcome in your videos/podcasts. Where do you get your meat from? My 6 month old baby is hating her new kibble and only likes Marshalls and the Wysong, but Wysong is too much for her and causes her to get tummy upset. I’m suspecting she may have IBD and wanting to start her on the raw transition, but not sure where to get the meats!

Many Adventures depends on how quickly they catch on! :) some switch right over immediately, some need weeks of coaxing! In that case yes feed kibble to ensure they are eating enough. I have done kibble in the morning and raw at night during the switch. The only kibble brands I would ever use would be Dr. Elsey’s clean protein or Ziwipeak. I have not personally tried either of these foods, I only like what I see with the ingredients.

He hasn’t eaten in 3 days? You will need to take him to the vet ASAP! Something could be wrong internally. Are you feeding a different food than the one he was on when you got him? If he came from the store or a shelter there’s a good chance he was being fed Marshall’s Premium Diet. If you do not have any, pick some up. It’s not an ideal food, but the situation requires it. If you gave him an entirely new food he may not want to eat it. Keep me updated!

Ziwipeak is expensive but for the quality I am okay with the price. Would feeding raw be more expensive than Ziwipeak? I have 2 ferrets, 6 months old.
Hello so I have a question there is a raw diet meal and it’s called Big dogs for cats so basically raw food for cats and it has all these really good things and would be way better then pellets they have rabbit kangaroo and turkey with bones etc And it’s comes in a patty and frozen so u would defrost and give. but if I want to transition the ferret to it should I take a good amount and ground it with water to make it more like a soup and gradually less water each time until I can let the ferret have the patty form or do u have a better suggestion

I'm currently trying to transition my five year old rescue ferrets to raw but they've been having some pretty bad tummy troubles with it like really liquidy poops and one of them is vomiting the soup back up. Have you ever had anything like this happen or do you have any advice?
My ferret loves egg yolk, but I only feed her kibble but it’s expensive and I just found out that it’s not healthy for her. I love my baby and I hope she’ll eat meat without a problem.

Nikki Max you can do that! I did that for awhile with Pazu and Howl. They were trickier to transition. With Appa & Momo I did that as well if I was worried they weren’t getting all the nutrients yet. If you find your ferrets are taking quickly to the raw, feel free to dump the kibble as soon as you feel comfortable.

Are their any cons to feeding only that? Would the lamb formula be ok? I know chicken and turkey would be but I’m not sure about the lamb. Are there any other options for already portioned prepped meals?

I know this is old but for other readers; yes and yes. But I highly recommend looking into dried meats as a kibble substitute instead. The cheapest ones that are still great with no bad ingredients are ones like Ziwi Peak, Vital Essentials, Catit, and Zeal. Even if you fail with the transition, you can rest assure knowing you're giving the next best thing. Check out Ferret.Love for good food comparison.
Love your vids. I wanna make a shirt lol. Told my son I was gonna make him shirt with his ferrets face so he can show off at school if we ever go back. We are planning to switch to raw diet with snuggie but he thus far shows no interest in any real meats. Marshall's when we got him and since he found the cats bowl he likes there solid crappy cat food more

Is there a difference in their poo, coats, energy and odors when raw fed vs kibble fed? I’ve wondered what the difference looks like. ❤️

Andrea Pyle always completely raw! Cooking removes a lot of the nutrients. Also, cooked bones can splinter.

I live in Australia so it's hard to find hearts, gizzards, organs etc. What's some easy meat and a simple diet i can feed my ferrets daily?
a lot of them like eggs. you can do raw or cooked eggs. mine wont eat them but other people have had luck with that.

No, you cannot feed both kibble and raw long term. Feed the dry until they are transitioned to raw.
