I rescued two ferrets that were badly neglected and they are the sweetest babies you can tell they are so thankful to be in a loving home. They’re like puppies they lick me when I pet them and never bite. I’ve even heard them bark! I switched them from a ferret kibble they came with to Ziwi thanks to your recommendations and they love it. They have a water bowl I change every day and a bottle hanging in the cage just as a back up if they spill the bowl while I’m away or anything. Your videos have been SO helpful in learning how to care for them and make them happy, I leave the cage door open 24/7 and let them roam one room and a hallway and they usually just sleep in the cage and come out to play whenever they hear me pass by. I was having trouble with them pooping in random corners but I took your advice of putting blankets/toys in those spots and it worked so well. Thank you for all the help you’ve made it so easy for me! ❤️

how did you switch your ferrets? i tried switching mine but she won’t even touch the ziwi when i try :(
why don't you make your own food packs, I would buy on the spot. Hell even make a kickstarter for your own brand. Id put a good amount down.

I just got both of my ferrets to switch to ziwi peak.I’m so happy!Thank you sooooo much.I was told by The exotic pet animal hospital in Philadelphia to only feed them Zupreem which is absolutely horrible and they gave it to one of them when he was in the hospital with a Ece.I’m so glad they like the better quality food.They didn’t want it at first but I came home and they was both eating it.🥳
how did you do it 😭 mine will literally rather starve herself than eat even the 3 pieces of ziwi in attempt to switch her to it

Thanks for the great video!! I actually use Fortiflora feline probiotics from proplan whenever we travel, swtich foods or just when I think he needs a little boost :) They're great but need to be stored in the fridge.

Rescued 7 FERRETS. From a HOME in troy NY that has been raided all animals confiscated. Poor 7 look horrible !!! But it's been 4 months NOW. Vetted and better fed is going great so far . I have them on grinds 2x day with carnivore care added . Love your vids and knowledgeable about our babies
I just got a rescue that was on the brink of death. Hes already been to the vet, but feeding is a nightmare. Also introducing him to his siblings is like something I’ve never experienced. He has to be caged alone. He’s slowly coming along but I am realizing there may be so much more I could do. I saw at one point you helped other people with feeding. Is there anyway I could get in touch with you and get ideas? If not that’s cool, thanks for the video 🙌🌸

Thank youuu I really needed this I used to buy ziwi peak but it stinked a lot so I changed to feline kibble and i always add water and sometimes eggs tyyy 😥
For bone broth, what are your thoughts about Honest Kitchen Beef Bone Broth powder? I have been hydrating their food with just water, but I think this would be a nice addition to add flavor and other nutrients. (Previous owners gave them cat food.. I'm slowly working to get them on a better diet without too much change at one time) TIA!

I am going to feed instinct raw cat kibble and wet food i will be mixing them both with their raw boost i have heard it is pretty good but maybe I am wrong but I do know that I will be mixing chicken broth and i give them a egg every week as well
Instinct is not a food I personally recommend due to its inclusion of tapioca. I’d suggest Dr Elsey’s instead!
How long can I leave the water in the kibble until it gets bad?
I now feed vita prima from sunseed its that ok and pls give me some hints all I give her is dry food and vitamins

Is there a reason that giving eggs would cause a ferret to get sick? I have only given one of my guys eggs once and he ended up needing a vet visit, my vet recommend not feeding eggs/raw at all but I would really like to switch my guys.

I love your videos. 😍 I have two ferrets, one is almost a year old and the other is about 6 months. The one that is almost a year old, he keeps eating my cats cat food! I move it but of course, he still finds a way. They always do lmao. But i was wondering if you could tell me if they are able to eat cat food? he seems to really like it. It’s the Meow Mix. I would love to hear your take on this because i really am not sure.
Some cat foods are okay, but Meow Mix I would stay away from. When I rescued Tanji he had been fed Meow Mix all his life, his teeth were rotting and he did eventually pass away mysteriously. Not saying for sure that food caused anything, but just his experience.

Need some advice. I have had a brother and sister ferret for a few weeks. The girl has done great with going potty on the proper spot. The boy will go in the right spot here and there but usually just goes all over. We praise when he goes in the proper place and always leave a little poop behind on the new litter pads. Idk what else to do.
Ferrets rarely will get to 100% accuracy. They are very unlike cats in that regard.
I’ve had my ferret for a couple months now and have tried treats (freeze dried chicken) and eggs and he hasn’t been interested. The only thing he likes besides his food is a fish oil mix that he was given at the rescue I got him from. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Keep trying . My rescues had no treats ever . Warm water added always works ! Try rubbing on mouths my babies LOVE LOVE eating off a spoon . TRY it. Most will do it
This is a question of mine I currently have a cat and I feed her kibble and wet food my first question is if it is OK to feed my favorite the same dry food that I feed my cat and my second question is if I can feed a ferret wet food intended for cats by the way she is quite healthy and she has never gotten sick because of the food that we have been feeding her

How many times should I change out my ferrets food? :D with the and water? And eggs but unless I didn’t hear correctly the eggs shouldn’t go with the dry food because it goes bad quicker same with the fish
Use your best judgement, when the food gets overly soggy / dries out it should be changed.
I’m a brand new ferret owner. Never had them before .. I’ve been watching videos of all kinds and a few of yours ..

Heyy Bryn do u know the mini pekingnease breed and if u do ,do u have any recommend diets.
Most dogs will thrive on a home prepared, nutritionally adequate diet whether that be raw or cooked (ideally raw) but if you can't do raw, my suggestions are similar to that of ferrets. K9 Naturals and Ziwipeak dog food. I don't have any true dog kibbles I'm a big fan of but Nature's Logic is recommended in the raw dog communities. Hope this helps.
I need help - My ferret keeps scratching and biting themselves. How do i help them reduce/stop them from doing it?
They could have irritated skin! This happened with my ferrets and I gave them a warm oat bath to soothe the skin (be careful bathing ferrets!) and I switched the laundry soap I used to wash their bedding. I recommend an unscented baby soap since it’s meant for sensitive skin!
That could also be due to changing of the weather and shedding as well!

It should still be relatively accurate. Feel free to search up any food you’re interested in to see if there’s any ingredient changes.
@@Pazuandfriends Awesome! You've convinced me that kibble is probably worth avoiding, but I'm very disorganized and don't historically even really prepare meals for myself. So for me the change is intimidating; baby steps are important; and the work you've done in summarizing, analyzing, and tabulating everything is very, very helpful.
Trust me little says if you come up with any kind of pet food that's on the market we will buy it we support your brand if it wasn't for you I wouldn't know nothing about ferrets bear bear and Denali thank you as well

Yes you can do that, don't be scared! Just keep doing research and asking questions.

i have such a bad experience with Wysong my ferret was so sick after eating it he was having diarrhea and seedy diarrhea and i was so sad for him i immediately threw it out and ran to the store to buy better food for him
Wysong needs to be mixed with another food or else it can cause loose stools.

@@bellapretto9581 yeah, you’re not dumb, it’s a weird food. I’ve never used it but I know everyone who does mixes it. But ziwi is great too so. I don’t think it has to be mixed.
The general rule for kibble is mix it in case one is out of stock or gets discontinued, not sure if it’s the same with freeze dried. Sorry:(

@@bellapretto9581 Even when mixed, Wysong has caused digestive upset and other symptoms when fed. I’m not exactly sure why, one of the reasons I don’t recommend it anymore. You did the right thing!

I feed my ferret wysong is it okay if I mix a high protein kitty food with it?
If you must feed Wysong, many do suggest mixing it with another food to help improve stool consistency

What’s your opinion on Orijen?
She has a kibble chart actually (can't find it atm) and she isn't too keen on Orijen because it has legumes and many other plant sources :/
