You guys are on point in so many ways that many people dont realize. This is not just a story for entertainment. This is to show the truth of the bible and how we should reflect on our own lives. This was tragic because of sin. Its no different than what we are doing now. Sin kills and destroys, this is why sin cannot enter heaven. Im so glad you touched on about the oil because this is an amazing fact that God tells us. Its not a coincidence that we have these things. Sorry, but this totally debunks any evolutionary theory out there. God is real and the bible is truth. He loves us and wants us to be saved..thats the bottom line. Get in that boat!!

Do yourself a favour: If you have a Bible, read Genesis chapter 6 gives you the flood narrative. If you don't have a Bible, find one or Google it.
You would see that God found only evil on the earth but Noah, being a righteous man, walked with God. God told Noah to build the ark and sent the animals to Noah. God was going to make a covenant with Noah.

We weren't the ideal customers. Movies worldly movies got better places more playing time and they forgot to turn out the lights in two episodes, i had to go to the manager twice. AMC movies!!! 1. The most common date given for the flood is 4400 years ago, right in the middle of the Egyptians first burst of city and temple building, why did they not notice they were under water?
    2. To flood the planet to over top the highest mountain you would need about 3 to 4 times the known amount of water in the world, where did all that water come from?
    3. After the flood, where did the water go?
    4. How did 8 people build a wooden ship bigger than any wooden ship built in modern times when THAT ship was reinforced with steel bracing and still broke up and sank.
    5. How did animals with odd diets get to the ark?
    6. How did 8 people deal with the needs of 10000 animals on the ark? Each animal had to be fed, watered, exercised and the poop scooped. Working 12 hours a day they would need to deal with over 100 animals per hour.
    7. If there were 10000 animals on the ark representing about 4000 species, and there is now about 8.7 million species on Earth, each species surviving the flood would have to generate 217 new species in the 4400 years since the flood.
    8. If there were 10000 animals on the ark representing about 4000 species, and there is now about 8.7 million species on Earth, each species surviving the flood would have to generate 217 new species in the 4400 years since the flood.
    9. Well according to the Book of Jasher, the wives ARE sisters. Jasher 5: 32-35 "And thou shalt choose for thy sons three maidens, from the daughters of men, and they shall be wives to thy sons. And Noah rose up, and he made the ark, in the place where God had commanded him, and Noah did as God had ordered him. In his five hundred and ninety-fifth year Noah commenced to make the ark, and he made the ark in five years, as the Lord had commanded. Then Noah took the three daughters of Eliakim, son of Methuselah, for wives for his sons, as the Lord had commanded Noah." If a species undergoes a population bottleneck, the lack of genetic diversity can be seen in the members of that species. NO such bottle neck exists in the overwhelming majority of species.
    10. 4400 years is not a long enough time to generate the diversity in the human population to give rise to the different populations of people we see on the planet especially when you consider that effectively the genetic diversity was limited to 4 people, Noah and his wife and Eliakim and his wife.
    11. Ken Ham's phony Ark has a million Dollar + heating, ventilation and air conditioning system that ensures that workers and visitors do not suffocate in the building. According to the bible, the original Ark had one window, 18 in square. Sorry people but if Ham's estimate of 1600 species represented by a minimum of 4000 animals, they would have suffocated.
    12. There is NO trace of any global flood in the geology of the world. Lots of local and regional floods, yes, but NO global flood.
    13. Oh and by the way, for those fools at CMI who think Noah's Flood was a real event, a Tomb has been discovered in Egypt dated to 4400 years ago, about the time of the mythical flood (according to many biblical creationists). This raises several questions.
    a. If the Tomb was built before the flood, how did it escape being flooded?
    b. If the Tomb was built after the flood, the Earth's population would have been devistated so who built the tomb?
    c. Why is this Tomb perfectly in line with Egyptian culture before and after the fairy tale flood? If everybody in Egypt were killed in the flood, the Egyptian culture from before the flood would have been lost.
Untouched 4,400-year-old tomb discovered at Saqqara, Egypt National Geographic, PUBLISHED DECEMBER 17, 2018

Excellent use of common sense, & critical thinking & reasoning! The logistics alone, as you went into detail, is impossible for 8 people to accomplish. The other aspect that people fail to think about is this; God supposedly had Noah build the ark to hold ONLY his family. If anyone else, even 10 people, joined Noah on the ark, it would be unsustainable. People fail to realize that the global flood of Noah's day is a fictional story.

I have studied Christian apologetics for over 50 years and have to say, this is one of the best presentations I have seen on the topic of the global flood of Noah. The scientific evidence presented in the film is terrific and well documented. If you watch this with an open mind, the evidence of a young earth is also overwhelming. Their examination of the layers of the earth, polystrate fossils, the new discoveries of tissue, blood cells, blood vessels and more in dinosaur bones and a dozen other things is great. Almost no one covers these things and once you see it, you cannot unsee it. I'm going to buy copies for friends and share it as much as I can. Science proves God, we need to embrace it. By that I mean "real science" as presented on this film. They cover a lot in 2 hours. Wish they had 2 more hours to cover DNA complexity, recent genealogical data (although the touch on it) and more, but God bless them for this wonderful piece.

@@jakoboka ROFL. That's what Christians do all of the time, including in this idiotic movie.
They hydroplate theory (not a scientific theory, but simply a hypothesis) is by Walt Brown, not by Brian Nickel.
This is what it claims "But first, what is a hydroplate? Before the global flood, an ocean of water was under Earth’s crust. Pressure increases in this subterranean water ruptured that crust, breaking it into plates. The escaping water flooded the Earth. Because hydro means water, those crustal plates will be called hydroplates. Where and why they broke, how they moved, and hundreds of other details and evidence-all consistent with the laws of physics-explain so many of Earth’s primary features and constitute the hydroplate theory."
No evidence of this nonsense at all, especially any magical ocean of water somehow under the crust of the earth. No cavities are evident, no collapsed areas are evidence. And hmm, where did this water all vanish to since we know it isn't in the crust? We know this thanks to seismography since water and rocks have vastly different seismic signatures. We know that the earth's crust is in several layers thanks to the different seismic signatures of solid, molten and semimolten rock.
Water at any depth like is claimed under the continents would be boiling hot or even higher than that, e.g. super critical, since it would be under pressure, around 32 kBAR (1 atmosphere of pressure at earth's surface is around 1 bar). The release of that would have boiled Noah and everyone else.
Walt Brown, and Nickel, are incompetent failures who simply lie.
Like all of the various claims by ignorant creationists, it fails. Here are other nonsense invented by creationists (including the hydroplate nonsense) and how it all fails miserably, from "Problems with a Global Flood Second Editionby Mark Isaak Copyright 1998" , found on the Talk Origins website
*Vapor canopy. This model, proposed by Whitcomb & Morris and others, proposes that much of the Flood water was suspended overhead until the 40 days of rain which caused the Flood. The following objections are covered in more detail by Brown.*
How was the water suspended, and what caused it to fall all at once when it did?
If a canopy holding the equivalent to more than 40 feet of water were part of the atmosphere, it would raise the atmospheric pressure accordingly, raising oxygen and nitrogen levels to toxic levels.
If the canopy began as vapor, any water from it would be superheated. This scenario essentially starts with most of the Flood waters boiled off. Noah and company would be poached. If the water began as ice in orbit, the gravitational potential energy would likewise raise the temperature past boiling.
A canopy of any significant thickness would have blocked a great deal of light, lowering the temperature of the earth greatly before the Flood.
Any water above the ozone layer would not be shielded from ultraviolet light, and the light would break apart the water molecules.
*Hydroplate. Walt Brown's model proposes that the Flood waters came from a layer of water about ten miles underground, which was released by a catastrophic rupture of the earth's crust, shot above the atmosphere, and fell as rain.*
How was the water contained? Rock, at least the rock which makes up the earth's crust, doesn't float. The water would have been forced to the surface long before Noah's time, or Adam's time for that matter.
Even a mile deep, the earth is boiling hot, and thus the reservoir of water would be superheated. Further heat would be added by the energy of the water falling from above the atmosphere. As with the vapor canopy model, Noah would have been poached.
Where is the evidence? The escaping waters would have eroded the sides of the fissures, producing poorly sorted basaltic erosional deposits. These would be concentrated mainly near the fissures, but some would be shot thousands of miles along with the water. (Noah would have had to worry about falling rocks along with the rain.) Such deposits would be quite noticeable but have never been seen.
Comet. Kent Hovind proposed that the Flood water came from a comet which broke up and fell on the earth. Again, this has the problem of the heat from the gravitational potential energy. The water would be steam by the time it reached the surface of the earth.
*Runaway subduction. John Baumgardner created the runaway subduction model, which proposes that the pre-Flood lithosphere (ocean floor), being denser than the underlying mantle, began sinking. The heat released in the process decreased the viscosity of the mantle, so the process accelerated catastrophically. All the original lithosphere became subducted; the rising magma which replaced it raised the ocean floor, causing sea levels to rise and boiling off enough of the ocean to cause 150 days of rain. When it cooled, the ocean floor lowered again, and the Flood waters receded. Sedimentary mountains such as the Sierras and Andes rose after the Flood by isostatic rebound. [Baumgardner, 1990a; Austin et al., 1994]*
The main difficulty of this theory is that it admittedly doesn't work without miracles. [Baumgardner, 1990a, 1990b] The thermal diffusivity of the earth, for example, would have to increase 10,000 fold to get the subduction rates proposed [Matsumura, 1997], and miracles are also necessary to cool the new ocean floor and to raise sedimentary mountains in months rather than in the millions of years it would ordinarily take.
Baumgardner estimates a release of 1028 joules from the subduction process. This is more than enough to boil off all the oceans. In addition, Baumgardner postulates that the mantle was much hotter before the Flood (giving it greater viscosity); that heat would have to go somewhere, too.
Cenozoic sediments are post-Flood according to this model. Yet fossils from Cenozoic sediments alone show a 65-million-year record of evolution, including a great deal of the diversification of mammals and angiosperms. [Carroll, 1997, chpts. 5, 6, & 13]
Subduction on the scale Baumgardner proposes would have produced very much more vulcanism around plate boundaries than we see. [Matsumura, 1997]
New ocean basins. Most flood models (including those above, possibly excepting Hovind's) deal with the water after the flood by proposing that it became our present oceans. The earth's terrain, according to this model, was much, much flatter during the Flood, and through cataclysms, the mountains were pushed up and the ocean basins lowered. (Brown proposes that the cataclysms were caused by the crust sliding around on a cushion of water; Whitcomb & Morris don't give a cause.)
How could such a change be effected? To change the density and/or temperature of at least a quarter of the earth's crust fast enough to raise and lower the ocean floor in a matter of months would require mechanisms beyond any proposed in any of the flood models.
Why are most sediments on high ground? Most sediments are carried until the water slows down or stops. If the water stopped in the oceans, we should expect more sediments there. Baumgardner's own modeling shows that, during the Flood, currents would be faster over continents than over ocean basins [Baumgardner, 1994], so sediments should, on the whole, be removed from continents and deposited in ocean basins. Yet sediments on the ocean basin average 0.6 km thick, while on continents (including continental shelves), they average 2.6 km thick. [Poldervaart, 1955]
Where's the evidence? The water draining from the continents would have produced tremendous torrents. There is evidence of similar flooding in the Scablands of Washington state (from the draining of a lake after the breaking of an ice dam) and on the far western floor of the Mediterranean Sea (from the ocean breaking through the Straits of Gibralter). Why is such evidence not found worldwide?
How did the ark survive the process? Such a wholesale restructuring of the earth's topography, compressed into just a few months, would have produced tsunamis large enough to circle the earth. The aftershocks alone would have been devastating for years afterwards."
you may as well just lie and claim "magic".

A scale model has been built to the exact description, with flat ends like a box, and flat hull, and it was tested in a water tank with waves and turmoil etc. It was incredibly buoyant and stable. It just had to float, not go in a forward direction. It wasn’t a boat, just a container with an Intelligent Designer.

It is the same word in Gen 1:1. " In the Beginning, God created the Heavens and the EARTH " SAME WORD- "erets"
