    I am watching your video with my sc coming up in a few hours. (I have done extra training and research)
    I am my own worst enemy as I always doubt myself and then fall into the trap of becoming tunnel visioned, the example of the instructor who failed is exactly the way I conducted myself when I failed previously. Afterwards when given my feedback I was gutted with myself because 'on a normal lesson', I always adapt but for some reason my brain freezes when I'm in a test situation and I have been looking into ways to stop the brain fog.
    Your video has been the pep talk that I need to remind me that I do know what I'm doing. Thank you,

    Hi Howard, thank you for putting these informative videos. I passed my Part 3 without any training. Your video helped me loads especially the mock test videos. I have watched your videos over and over again for the past 2 weeks. Really helpful. I scored B 37 marks but will improve to A with the help of your videos by the time I get my 1st standards check. Keep up the good work and all the best to Pdi out there watching your videos

    Excellent video Howard! I am a full time PDI on my pink license and awaiting a suitable test date for my part 3. My trainer has advised me to pick the subject and then find a pupil to match it, but my concern with this is that is could be too contrived. I will be following your advice instead and basing the part 3 around the pupils needs at that particular time. Thanks for all you do and keep up the great work!

    • @How-2-drive

      It has to be client centred, so pupil first then work out what they need at that moment in time. Fix some faults and you’ll be the right track. Go with your gut feeling. Thanks for watching

      On the day, deliver a 45 min lesson which addresses the needs of your learner. Start with one fault which they have just done. Be ready to adapt as you identify a gap in their knowledge. Deliver a normal lesson, don’t overthink it. Just be yourself

    • @How-2-drive

      Allow the fault to happen, BUT keep things safe. Once you’ve identified the fault, prevent it from happening again through giving the correct level of instruction. Encourage your learner to start taking more responsibility by giving them the correct tools to do the job

    Hello Howard thanks for your brilliant helpful videos , just need to understand how instructions need to be different to partly trained , full trained and FLH experienced. in order to get point on risk management we have to ask question to prevent risk which we can ask partly and fully trained pupil how do we go about FLH experienced driver.. i understand depending on lesson plan in intro we can ask risk management questions ... do they count ? or these questions need to be asked on the move.. that will be great help

    • @How-2-drive
      @How-2-drive  Рік тому

      To help you understand how to manage risk during a driving lesson, take a look at the ADI 1 examiners guidance. You need to manage risk from the start of the lesson, right up to the end regardless of the pupils ability. For a beginner you may need to take more responsibility than you would a FLH. By giving your students the tools to do the job, they can take on more responsibility, so their should be a transfer from teacher to learner..

    Hi. Thank you for the informative video.
    I was wondering if you could do a video on ADI part 3 but where a full licence holder is driving. What would be the best way to approach this? Any tips/info will be greatly appreciated

    • @How-2-drive
      @How-2-drive  Рік тому

      If you’re taking a FLH, just ask yourself what do they need? To pass you need to be fixing faults. Take them for an assessment drive and make a list then you’ll have a much better idea.

    Hi Just wondering its not always that simple to adapt for example I adapt for stalling and on the way to quiet road pupil makes mspsl fault, what do to then ? Or any other fault

    • @How-2-drive
      @How-2-drive  Рік тому

      Talk to your pupil. Is it a ‘one off’? Do they understand why they stalled? Do they need to practice? Or do they want to work on those junctions. It can be simple if you work WITH your pupil and establish what really needs to be done.

    Hi Howard. Question of precedence for you.
    You are approaching a roundabout, turning right 2nd exit.
    Sign board says turning right 2nd exit is correct.
    However, road markings suggest left lane turns left, right lane is straight ahead.
    How would you teach this. Right signal on approach as in mspsl. But according to the road markings the right lane is straight ahead so no signal on the approach is needed.
    Which takes precedence, the road sign or the road markings.
    Much appreciated

    • @charlesfultondrivinginstructor
      @charlesfultondrivinginstructor Рік тому

      There is a roundabout near me exactly as you explain, I may be wrong but the intention here may be to prevent a collision if the car in the left lane goes straight on & you take up the inner lane & both head towards that 2nd exit... hope that helps
