It's even sadder when you realize that the original lyrics were: "Ahoy, ahoy, sweet Daughter of the Seas. Ahoy this child be mine. The Admiral's girl, his whole entire world, for as long as stars do shine." And it was a song Daelin sang to her regularly when she was a little girl -try not to cry -cry a lot
Ghosts of the past. He's the symbolic representation of the regret around her decision to side with the horde over her family. I'd guess he has been haunting her for a very long time, we as the players only seeing him now. He disappears when she finally accepts that she was wrong, that she should have sided with family, thus getting the proverbial ghost off of her back. I think this might be one of Blizzards best. These artistic stories are absolutely incredible, again and again
She wasn't wrong to stop a genocidal maniac, even if it was her own father. She is however feeling guild and regret for the decision. She wanted peace and made an ultimate sacrifice that has been forsaken by the horde so many times over, now she is seeing things from her father's perspective.
Patrick: You're kind of dense, they aren't making her evil, JFC things aren't black and white. Vengeful though, probably. She's tired of the death and destruction continually wrought by the horde.
Or also literally could be his ghost guiding her to his ship, considering we know tidesages can do this and Jaina's understanding of magic (deeper than most mortal mages according to books)/ connection to tidesages (being Kul Tiran "royalty"); it could quite literally have been him, or an echo (as mages are capable of creating) of his memory that trailed her back to the ship.
Jake Dugan Certainly possible that hes there, but I doubt it. Too on the nose. She also wouldn't need his ghost to guide her, as she was present during the assault
The ferry-man was, at least as far as I can tell, a manifestation of her guilt taking the form of her deceased father, Daelin Proudmoore, whose death she was partly responsible for. The song depicts the events of Theramore back shortly after the Third War, where Admiral Daelin Proudmoore arrives on Kalimdor in search of his daughter. "When she did flee across the ocean deep, the admiral followed west. What else but sail to save a daughter's life, and pray she still drew breath? But there he found on the Western shores, Enemies 'on the rise!" Upon reaching the shores of Kalimdor he found, to his horror, the remnants of the Horde in the process of building a home for themselves in Kalimdor, and worse yet; his own daughter at peace with those savages that took the life of his eldest son along with countless human soldiers and civilians during the events of the First and Seconds Wars, the latter of which Admiral Daelin Proudmoore was one of the main Alliance leaders. “Can your blood atone for genocide, orc? Your Horde killed countless innocents with its rampage across Stormwind and Lordaeron. Do you really think you can just sweep all that away and cast aside your guilt so easily? No, your kind will never change, and I will never stop fighting you.” - Daelin to Thrall. Daelin decides to wage a war against the orcs, against his daughter's wishes and this eventually leads to his death as the Horde retaliates with the aid of Rexxar, invades Theramore and kills him. Jaina, confused and wrought with conflict decides to step aside - she doesn't help the Horde kill her father, but she doesn't try to save him either. "But when he faced those savage foes His daughter stood aside. Buried deep beneath the waves, Betrayed by family. To his nation, with his last breath, cried, "Beware the Daughter of the Sea."" It's been a long time since those events and Jaina has endured a lot of hardship at the hands of the Horde she decided to protect, against her own flesh and blood. She has changed and now harbours a hatred for the Horde that shines as bright as the one of her father, made even more clear by her; "I'm listening now... father." upon which the specter fades, which I think symbolises that she is on the path to redeem herself to her father and follow his convictions in fighting the Horde. If you look carefully while she's raising her father's ship, the hooded boatsman is not there - she's the only one in the boat. She's either imagining her daddy's spirit with her, or she's literally haunted by the spirits of her father and the men who fought and died at his side.

The ferryman was the apparition of her late father, Admiral Proudmore characterized with the anchor emblem. We interpret it as he leads Jaina to the site where his ship sank. The song is the shanty Kul Tirans created to warn of her great betrayal to the admiral of Theramore. But the ending makes it seem she will live up to the warnings. Raising her father's galley and single-handedly navigate it (possibly) to Kul Tiras. Will she subjugate her people since she will never win their forgiveness?
cool theory though as a beta player i can confirm this is not the way she gets back to kul tiras or they way she goes about reconnecting with her people.
I don't think they'll forgive her it'll be like the truce Genn and Sylvanas briefly held at the shore offensive at the start of Legion. Kul'tiras will just realize they are fucked if they don't join the alliance because the Zandalar/Horde would easily steamroll them.
Yes, that ghost guiding the boat was Daelin Proudmore, but he never existed in this clip (theory of mine): he were just a ghost of past following Jaina to the wrecks of the ship. The one person alive in this clip is Jaina and she navigated alone visualizing her father with her.
The shorts for Legion got me so hyped, and tbh, i was a little down on BFA, but I'll be damned if sea shanties don't put my hype level back up to at least a 9/10.
There is also the possibility they are hallucinations sent by N'Zoth to manipulate her. Or they just represent her internal struggles. We will see in BFA
Lens Hunter I’d agree with all but the ferryman. The necklace was real enough for Jaina to interact with it and the ferryman was real enough to hold and wear it. I think Daelin might have just been an ordinary ghost haunting the ruins of Theramore.
Kevin Wheeler it was her father. He reacted when she said "I'm listening... Father." The necklace was his, a symbol of his family, which also adorns the ship she raised. Jaina has basically taken her father's place AND his attitude toward the Horde. She's about to go full on wrecking ball against them.
Morgoth Bauglir Ah please begone with your N'Zoth possibilities... It's just a metaphor-heavy vid and Jaina's basically just really really mad at the Horde
The ferry pusher was the spirit of Jaina's father, and the ship she rose was her father's ship. Jaina's story has had this re-occuring theme of people not "listening" and it's shaping up to something really cool.
The ghost of Jaina´s father is a metaphore for all her regrets and guilt. You only see it when you are close to Jaina, in the scene were she raises the ship and the view is far behind her you can´t see him on the boat and once the shot changes back to her you can see him fade in again.
I am so so about BFA as far as the game but I am super looking forward to it because of lore and character development. I hope they don't disappoint with Sylvanas like they did in Legion.
You are a great streamer and youtuber Hazel ! Your smile, positive energy, knowledge about our and your interests. Keep going , u gonna be huge in the ranks of wow youtubers !
They first did these animated shorts with The Burdens of Shaohao for Mists of Pandaria. But yes, the Lords of War shorts were the best part of Warlords of Draenor;. Maraad's story was the best. It literally made me roll a draenei paladin, and I'm a Horde player.
Aww.... Hazel, I just saw at the emotion building up in your eyes. This animated short was a powerful one. Everyone already loves Jaina and have a connection to her. However this little video brings MORE of a connection to her. As with everyone else, I hope that Jaina really does start to push things to the brink. Meaning I hope she does start to “bring the pain”. For what she’s gone through, it’s DEFINITELY necessary.
I have already seen it enough to now know the lyrics and I must say it explains a lot as to how Kulturians view Jaina and how she feels in this moment of WOW history. I too want to hear more songs as this one was epic!
This hit home really hard for me as someone who played wc3 at release. Janna has finally come to see eye to eye with her father after fighting him on his decision to attack the horde! Seeing her in this moment of haunted desperation, seeing it turn to power and scorn while sailing her fathers old ship, Powerful stuff!
I have watched it no less than 10 times since it was uploaded yesterday. I am so excited to see Jaina back in the fray. Note: The voice actress who is singing and also does Jaina's voice in WoW is Laura Bailey. I really wish Blizzard would give more credit to the voice actors.
This is written as an old sea chantey, which is the way stories were kept alive in old sailing communities, which is soooo fitting for Jaina's story. I agree with Phillyourthirst in that I don't think they will all be musical for that reason, either.
Definitely watch it again with the subtitles turned on. As a person with hearing loss, it's something I often do anyhow. I'd say the oarsman is her own manifestation of the guilt she has over what happened with her father. The raising of her father's ship and taking it as her own smacks as the beginning of her trying to right the wrongs she's committed. It's her own way of putting her guilt to rest over the death of her father. Between that guilt, and her changing opinion of the Horde, I'd say we're in for some interesting times ahead. :)
There is so much symbolism in this video it's insane. The first off the necklace's symbol is the symbol of Kul'tiras and Theramore. The sword in the ground was jaina's sword that she thrust into the ground after the bombing of theramore. The figure guiding the boat is a duel representation of the ferryman from Greek mythology notated by the payment given in return for transport through, in this case jaina's memories of the dead, and her acceptance of her father's point of view from warcraft 3 that there can never be peace between the horde and the alliance. The ship that she raised was her father's Galleon. And last but not least the actual song, is a sea shanty from Kul'tiras that starts off with her singing in reminiscences of her betrayal to her father and people the middle refrain with many voices is the perspective of the Kul'tirans and the last phrases are basically jaina adding in her own verse rephrasing the words "beware the daughter of the sea" from a warning to the people of Kul'tiras of her betrayal, into a warning to the horde stating that she's changed her mind about peace and she's coming to destroy them. I LOVE this video.
The way I took it was the necklace that she removed from the sword at the beginning was a token. She payed the token to the ferryman to cross the "River of Styx." But that necklace meant so much more to her. It was a symbol of everything she had lost by trying to reach peace with the Horde. All of the blood that had been spilled. All of her people who had died. Her own father, and Theramore. She had tried everything she could think of, and still saw that the Alliance was making all the same mistakes she had in the past. So, she paid the ferryman (her father) the token (the necklace) to cross the River of Styx (the ocean) to go to the Underworld (home) and be judged for her past. Most likely to die (going to Hades) for her betrayal. But to either way, atone for her misdeeds.
Her Ghost Dad was also a 'stand in' for Charon, the Greek myth guy, that takes you across the River Styx (the river of the dead), into the land of the dead - you have to pay him to do this -- notice Jaina pays her Ghost dad with the necklace before getting on his wee boat. So there is THAT on top of the whole Ghost Dad of Guilt thing. The water around Thereamore also has dead floating in it, very reminisant of the River of the Dead as well. And Ghost Dad uses a stick to push/drive the boat just like Charon always does.
I think I’ve watched the animated short more than a dozen times and It hits me each and every time. Her character arc and growth all the way from Warcraft 3 has been quite a journey. She finally feels like she is “at peace” and “grown up” Man, I feel sorry for Rexxar in BFA. I get the feeling that he is going to eat a Glacial Spike to the face.
Not certain if this had been brought up previously. Her father rowing the boat is also a reference to Charon the ferryman, who took the souls of of the fallen across the river Styx to Hades for a fee. It's why to this day, some people will place coins over the eyes of, or into the mouths of the departed. She paid with the necklace...
the aspiration represents the ferryman the one who guides the souls to the afterworld if you noticed she gives him the chain that represents theramore symbolizing the price that was must be paid or you could argue that the price that was paid. in the end it is the ghost for father that's been haunting her for so long but when he disappears it shows that she is no longer haunted and finally believes him and understands
Loved this reaction! Most people that react only care about the visuals and don't really listen to the lyrics and talk over it about how "cool and scary" it looks.
So I'm not an Alliance player. When Sylvanas screams "For the HORDE!!!" I get chills in the best sort of way. This...gave me chills too! I don't know if its I'm excited and going to have to roll and Alliance alt, or if I'm trembling in anticipation of what Jaina will be bringing our way for what we did....
The ferryman is a reference to Charon in Greek mythology. He ferried the souls of the dead across the river Styx to the land of the dead. I think it's symbolizing the memory/ghost of her father guiding her to a part of her she buried when she betrayed him. So this journey is both real and symbolic.
The ghostly figure was a manifestation of her guilt in form of her father. She feels geuilty because she let him die to bring peace just to get betrayed by the Horde years later.
Poor admiral proudmoor, Crossed the ocean to save his daughter just to have her betray and let him get killed, just so 12 Years later She can admit he was right... His grave must be worn from all the Rolling
Moral values? He saw how the Horde eradicated SW in the 1 and 2 war and how they killed thousands upon thousands of civilians, including his own son. I mean he earned the right to hate the Horde and be afraid of a new slaughter (Which happened to Theramore years later...so he was right).
Haunting and symbolic. I look bed how they portrayed Daelin as Charon who ferried the dead to their destination from Greek mythology. But Jaina is not dead, she is instead ferried through her decisions and her past which alienated her from her people and her family. When the ferry stops, she brings up a GIANT boat and tells her father she will more or less correct her past mistakes about the Horde. I can't help but feel that in her last verse, she is looking right at the current Warcheif and telling her: "I am coming for you...run."
I have watched the Warbringers Janina video a number of times. I was so charged up watching this, it brought pride to me playing alliance. Probably like the horde player might have felt watching Sylvanas in the Battle for Azeroth trailer. Finally I see someone on the alliance side who has a good chance of kicking Sylvanas's ass all the way back to Orgrimmar. You can see it in Jaina's eyes at the end.
Today in the beta, I was playing in one of the Zandar quests (as Alliance) and there was a woman standing at the bow of the ferry boat "singing" this as she cast a spell to speed you from one area to another. (By singing, I mean it was text, not voice). The oarsmen mostly guided with their oars while she sped us along. Had I not watched this video, I would have completely missed it. She wore the same type of robe (in tatters as well) as Jaina's father in this video. He sat on the stern, though, but still... About Jaina...I think she had to find the anchor to give to her father so that he could guide her to the ship. One of those mortal things to pass on types of scenarios. I wonder how long he's haunted her...and if she has always been able to see the dead.
Daaaamn you should have played with all the prev Warcrafts to know the story and stuffs! (Maybe do it with cheatcodes, just for the sake of story. There is a lot of things like this in WoW also, it's worth the time!) The amount of goosebumps I got from this short video is ridiculous. Warcraft deserves its own series or a series of movies! (A good one, with the actual story and proper technologies for that to have nice visuals, like the blizzard cinematics or even these pre-exp hype up videos)
The music and the feelings of sorrow, regret, isolation and aftermath of war makes me think of the Outlander TV series for some reason. Claire from Outlander and Jaina from Warcraft both had to make huge decisions and the worst possible outcome was the result for both. Both toured an old battlefield alone that they survived.
Jaina sees the ghost of her past. Of her past mistake in Warcraft 3 when she betrayed her father and her nation to protect the peace between the Horde and the Alliance in Kalimdor. This song is a Kul Tiras song that they made in memory of Jaina's betrayal. The fact that there is a song for Jaina makes sense because of the culture of the Kul Tiran but I don't think we will get that for Sylvanas and Azshara.
Enjoyed your reaction so much. This song about my favorite character give me everytime goosebumps. Can't wait for the song about Queen Azshara. Sylvanas who...? :D
Blizzard has spent a lot of thought over the details. For example, the figurehead of the raised ship has a depiction of the anchor necklace with the pendant upside down. Jaina the betrayer? All in all, this is top drawer entertainment, masterfully executed. The Blizzard team should be very proud of this one!
Look at the greek mythology on the Ferryman of the Dead. The dead had to pay a toll to the ferryman to gain passage to the after life. The price Jaina had to pay to realize the truth of her actions was Theramore. The necklace that she handed was the symbol of Theramore.
Every time I watch it I get chills! Home run, Blizz! Did anyone catch what the ghost skull said when it flew past Jaina? I thought it said ‘storm’ and then the storm kicked up, but not sure.
Actually by world of warcraft standards, there are many ways for ghost to be, wraiths, banshees and such. It doesn't necessarly have to be due to necromancy. But can be due to a traumatic experience that actually stopped the spirit from finding peace, which is why they are refered to as wraiths. His father was likely there and not a part of her own imagination, and so were the bodies and ships. And it was only after she came to terms with her causing the death of her father and realising that he was right, that he managed to find peace and disapear. Her being ready to follow in his steps as he always wished for. As of how the other ghost, bodies and ships are still around after so many years. You could likely compare that area to the dead marshes in the lord of the rings. Great reaction as always !
The cloaked man on the boat is representing the ferry man that brings the dead to hades the pendant of theramore/kul’tiras was the payment due but he was also a representation of her father. This is all a representation of her grief anger and remorse
Hazel... I took the guy in the boat as like he was Charon, ferryman of the River Styx, and Jaina was going into the underworld to speak to her father... I could be wrong but with the lyrics and the visuals that is my guess
Wc3 was what got me into the lore of Warcraft and...the story with Jaina is tragic. She sacrificed so much for her ideal of peace, including as the song said standing aside so the Horde could take out her father. Then losing so much more years later as Garrosh bombs her home...I main a Horde and at that point I nearly faction changed.
The boatman was either her father's spirit, or simply taking the form of her father's spirit because she handed him the anchor medallion... which is implied to be her father's after taking it off of the sword in that sword graveyard at the beginning. She says "I'm ready to listen now, father" because her father was in WarCraft 3: The Frozen Throne, and he told her that the horde is bloodthirsty and evil and can never be trusted. It's also not the first time she says something like this. Well after her father's death, she's remembering him and says "I should have listened to you." All in all, after the bombing of Theramore, it seems like she feels that she should never have helped Thrall retake the city from her father. She feels like she let her father die for nothing, and her people hate her for it. She made enormous sacrifices to work toward peace... and the world took it all from her. The world has never been kind to Jaina Proudmore.
The ghostly figure I believe begins as a reference to Charon, the ferryman of the underworld in Roman mythology. Her journey here very much parallels a descent through the underworld. The Romans burned their dead if wealthy/buried if poor with a coin in their mouth so they have a token to pay the Charon for him to row you across the river Styx and Archeron where at the end you are judged and allowed entrance into Elysium or sent to a version of Hell. If you died without this coin in your mouth you would be forever stuck on the banks of the river in a place similar to Purgatory wailing and screaming along the banks at those who passed by. Jaina paid the ferryman with the necklace of Theramore which for me symbolizes her paying with the lives of her father & people (those lost when the mana bomb was dropped on Theramore). Although she doesn't make it all the way through the various parts of the underworld, you see her pass along the banks of the "river" in this case the ocean made to look like a river flanked by the wreckage and the souls of the damned (I believe those flying skulls symbolize a few of her betrayed people wailing at her in torment as she passes them along her journey). I loved that at a certain part, the ferryman morphs into her father's ghost. Jaina is haunted by the ghost of her father and her decision to not listen to him about the Horde which led to his demise. When she reconciles with her father's ghost that he was right about the Horde, he fades out, no longer haunting her and she can go about her refocused purpose of acting out vengeance upon the horde in the name of her father and her people.
My daughter, when you were born the very oceans of azeroth roared the name...Jaina. I watched with discontent as you grew into an instrument of passiveness. Remember, our line has always ruled with strength and justice and i know you will break your chains when exercising your great vengeance. But the truest victory, my daughter, is embracing your heritage. I tell you this for when the ferryman comes, you shall be Queen.
It's even sadder when you realize that the original lyrics were:
"Ahoy, ahoy, sweet Daughter of the Seas.
Ahoy this child be mine.
The Admiral's girl, his whole entire world,
for as long as stars do shine."
And it was a song Daelin sang to her regularly when she was a little girl

Great. They're making a good character evil AGAIN. I'm regretting pre-buying BFA.
She wasn't wrong to stop a genocidal maniac, even if it was her own father. She is however feeling guild and regret for the decision. She wanted peace and made an ultimate sacrifice that has been forsaken by the horde so many times over, now she is seeing things from her father's perspective.

"But when he faced those savage foes
His daughter stood aside.
Buried deep beneath the waves,
Betrayed by family.
To his nation, with his last breath, cried,
"Beware the Daughter of the Sea.""
It's been a long time since those events and Jaina has endured a lot of hardship at the hands of the Horde she decided to protect, against her own flesh and blood. She has changed and now harbours a hatred for the Horde that shines as bright as the one of her father, made even more clear by her; "I'm listening now... father." upon which the specter fades, which I think symbolises that she is on the path to redeem herself to her father and follow his convictions in fighting the Horde.

Song was so beautifully written and performed 😍
Ya whoever that tenor was fucking nailed it

Jaina raised her father, and paid him with the necklace, so he could bring her to the site of the shipwreck. Jaina is listening now... Beware!
Very likely her immagination, since she witnessed him die etc, so she still probably knows where the galleon lies.
And I highly doubt Jaina would start dabbling in Necromancy just to make a symbolic point.
> I highly doubt Jaina would start dabbling in Necromancy just to make a symbolic point.
Haha, Jaina is a dreadlord
Bless Laura Bailey, the vocalists and other voice actors, and the Blizzard team for this cinematic beauty

This was amazing. Blizz hit a home-run with this. Loved the song too. Very haunting. Talk about digging up the ghosts of the past! lol
It's SO good! I've been humming the song non stop - can't wait to see what Jaina does!

Kinn Thoine Means that something was very exciting or caught you offgard and you're left shook and surprised so your wig flies away
Pan con mantequilla thanks but when did this expression start? :D
No, she just wants to wreck some horde. Maybe get forgiveness from her mother, but I don't believe she has an interest in ruling.
cool theory though as a beta player i can confirm this is not the way she gets back to kul tiras or they way she goes about reconnecting with her people.
Just one small correction, Daelin was admiral of Kul Tiras, not Theramore, since the settlement was founded by Jaina.
I think shes finally taken up her duty as the Grand Admiral and ruler of Theramore, and with her father vessel its time for vengeance
Even the original clip being so great, I rather the brazilian version.
The shorts for Legion got me so hyped, and tbh, i was a little down on BFA, but I'll be damned if sea shanties don't put my hype level back up to at least a 9/10.
Omg i watched it 3 times today, blizzard did such a good job on it
If Jaina went full tilt, who on the Horde could stop her?
No one.
All the ghosts and spectres and her father were just the hauntings of her past, I dont think they were actually there.
Morgoth Bauglir
Ah please begone with your N'Zoth possibilities...
It's just a metaphor-heavy vid and Jaina's basically just really really mad at the Horde
if you look at the boat after she raises the big ship on that big shot, he's not there
I love how excited you get about this Hazel. I makes me feel better about how excited I was! You had the exact same reaction I did.
I love this video, but because I'd already seen it before watching this, I got enamoured watching your cat being affectionate. So adorable!
The ferry pusher was the spirit of Jaina's father, and the ship she rose was her father's ship.
Jaina's story has had this re-occuring theme of people not "listening" and it's shaping up to something really cool.
I really wanna hear Slyvannas sing lmao.
Would be badass if they put her song in high elven with subtitles :)
Lament of the Highborne
The Horde will crush you
The horde wont do shit!! We need a water hose for Orggimar a match for thunder bluff and mirrors for the belfs!!!
She would probably sing the lament of the highborn
Watching this a year later: “did somebody go dig him up and do a Sylvanas on him?” - Hazel pretty much nailed the foreshadowing!
For kul'tiras for the alliance
Normie
For the Alliance! Now and forever!
Lets raid Ogrimmar together and avenge the admiral.
Punish the traitors and banish the enemies from Kalimdor.
The ghost of Jaina´s father is a metaphore for all her regrets and guilt.
You only see it when you are close to Jaina, in the scene were she raises the ship and the view is far behind her you can´t see him on the boat and once the shot changes back to her you can see him fade in again.
I've been waiting for this video! You did not disappoint =D and your reaction was pretty much my reaction. I'm so ready for BfA.
I am so so about BFA as far as the game but I am super looking forward to it because of lore and character development. I hope they don't disappoint with Sylvanas like they did in Legion.
"I'm so ready for Jaina to start messing stuff up" xD
i've watche dthis like 10 times.. The gives me chills every single time... This "of me" is dead cold.. This dreadlord is awesome!
They did well with this.
"I think you have to of made some pretty big mistakes in your life for a chorus to start guilt-tripping you in a musical number." -Hazelnuttygames
Cat: PAT ME MORE BÖTCH!!!
I cant stop watching and humming this. I'm so Hyped! Goosebump City.
I love how your smile fades when the song becomes sadder
Definitely watch it again with the subtitles turned on. As a person with hearing loss, it's something I often do anyhow. I'd say the oarsman is her own manifestation of the guilt she has over what happened with her father. The raising of her father's ship and taking it as her own smacks as the beginning of her trying to right the wrongs she's committed. It's her own way of putting her guilt to rest over the death of her father. Between that guilt, and her changing opinion of the Horde, I'd say we're in for some interesting times ahead. :)
no matter how many Horde Jaina kills it will never wash away the stain of betrayal
I find it halarious she said "incase you want to watch it 37 times" because before I watched this I had it on loop for 3 hours nonstop
Omg Blizzard better release the other two shorts asap I HAVE A MIGHTY NEED
She finally feels like she is “at peace” and “grown up”
Man, I feel sorry for Rexxar in BFA. I get the feeling that he is going to eat a Glacial Spike to the face.
I also hope they are all musical, I really loved this one, so hauntingly beautiful.
When the group start singing I get goosebumps!
Loved this reaction! Most people that react only care about the visuals and don't really listen to the lyrics and talk over it about how "cool and scary" it looks.
I got goosebumps when watching this and it made me cry when her dad was behind her.
this was emotional .... this tipe of songs get me evry time
Gotta love the pure reaction at 4:30 . That's the face of joy :)
It's is interesting how the Kul Tiran try to justify Daelin Proudmoore's genocide with "saving his daughter", isn't it?
scanGfu "Her heart is a crater. And we have filled it."
Do you have any clue of the background of admiral proudmoore? If so, you would unerstand why he attacked the Horde
Desaster Chief he betrayed moral values by slaughtering innocent orcs and trolls. She asked him to come back to the light. He betrayed her.
Moral values? He saw how the Horde eradicated SW in the 1 and 2 war and how they killed thousands upon thousands of civilians, including his own son. I mean he earned the right to hate the Horde and be afraid of a new slaughter (Which happened to Theramore years later...so he was right).
I belive alot of the stuff in the video is more symbolic of how jaina has it, then real
They also did this with for MOP with the Burdens of Shao Pa and Legion with the Harbinger shorts.
I loved it so much I got chills. And Jaina sure is on the warpath!
Taliesin did a beautiful job deciphering the vid. I recommend watching it.
Finally a new Hazel video.
Don’t pay the Ferryman, until he gets you to the other side.
The music and the feelings of sorrow, regret, isolation and aftermath of war makes me think of the Outlander TV series for some reason. Claire from Outlander and Jaina from Warcraft both had to make huge decisions and the worst possible outcome was the result for both. Both toured an old battlefield alone that they survived.
i like how natural your reaction is : )
wasn't this epic?! telling the story in song just as celtic and nordic ship fairing peeps did...awesome stuff blizz!!
Whoever played warcraft 3 knows that this is truly an amazing masterpiece
That was the actual voice actor singing. Fantastic.
Reminds me a lot of Crainus' "Darrowshire" ballad mainly for the feeling it inspires.
I hope they keep her like this and she eradicates the horde.
FOR THE HOOOOOOOOOORDE
I killed Jainas father in WC3 :)
"Eradicate me, pls o///o"
and thrall shows up and beat the crap out of her
I don't think so - she is a powerful mage, and Thrall lost his connection to elements.
Yo i don't know why jaina still hasn't thought of trying to flood orgrimmar again
Look at the greek mythology on the Ferryman of the Dead. The dead had to pay a toll to the ferryman to gain passage to the after life. The price Jaina had to pay to realize the truth of her actions was Theramore. The necklace that she handed was the symbol of Theramore.
The reaper appears to be a shade of her past, and his disappearance symbolizes jaina finally accepting her follies and mistakes
Every time I watch it I get chills! Home run, Blizz! Did anyone catch what the ghost skull said when it flew past Jaina? I thought it said ‘storm’ and then the storm kicked up, but not sure.
That was Admiral Daelin's Flagship, the Proudmoore. Fitting, since his ghost led her to it
Actually by world of warcraft standards, there are many ways for ghost to be, wraiths, banshees and such.
This warbringer is my fav of all time and it came out on my birthday :D
"They did this once before with Warlords of Draenor"
Nobody remembers The Burdens of Shaohao :(
I think it was her father, once she admitted she was wrong and ready to listen now his spirit was “released” symbolically of course.
i was so excited when i heard that the song that ferryman was singing was actually about jaina and her dad
That ending is jocking for position with Sylvanis’ FOR THE HORDE as most bad ass trailer/movie line.
I believe it was his uneasy soul finally being put to rest...
Yoda: brings up a tiny X-Wing from a shallow swamp...
Jaina: hold my beer.
Now finally she is getting main character attention.
I feel like everyone has the same reaction as soon as the guitar kicks in. That "oooh this gone be good."
