I swapped out my OEM oil drain plug for a Raney E-Z Drain valve (straight - the 90 degree elbow is not necessary) so no more removing the plug. Just “unlock” the valve and open it 90 degrees to drain the oil. Great addition. Keep up the good work. 👍

So this is for any one in the future, you don’t have to pull the wheel well out, go from your driver side battery and work through, go around your hood strut, just did this today and you can do it with out taking the wheel well out but I found it easier putting it back in through under tje hood

I never lube o ring with diesel as it dries it will make it harder to remove the housing. use white grease or engine oil

Nice video, i saw others use a bottle or a longer hose to catch that diesel from the drain.

I fought for 2 days with no luck, bought extra ratchets, extensions etc. Got help and with 2 of us got the fuel filter loose. 77000 k and not sure if it was factory or not, I do know I never changed it. Once my filter was on the drain plug was 3/4 turn shirt of being at the rear of engine. I had a oil pan plug stripped, nothing was said at the dealer about it, next oil change I did and noticed the oil plug was stripped. Don’t like going to dealers even for free oil changes.

@@curbsidemechanics3040 if you don’t mind me asking what type of system did you install? Is the factory one not that good compared to yours? Appreciate the help btw not a lot of info on trucks of this year. I have a 2008 5500 and use it for car hauling so trying to make sure I give it proper maintenance to prevent anything major from messing up. Also where do you usually order your parts, I find that Amazon usually has parts for newer models only. So I usually resort to O'Reilly.

I installed an Airdog 165GPH and did a fuel filter delete kit and I love it better mpg and you can rest assured your fuel system is getting fuel. Also installed a fuel sump on bottom of the tank

How often should you change your fuel filter every old change every other old change??

    • @curbsidemechanics3040

I would do every other oil change for a factory setup

My ‘07.5 owner’s manual says 7,500 for oil and filter and 15,000 for fuel filter, so I do the fuel filter every other oil & filter change (at 7,000 miles just to be a little on the safe side). I also do my tire balance and rotations (Nitto Ridge Grapplers, 33x12.5x17) every 7,000 and I currently at 58,000 miles on the tires with likely another 8,000-10,000 before replacement.
