not commented up to now as I've been mesmerised by your skills...brilliant progress and the stop/go animation adds a great touch...going to be an awesome car
Good job! My 69 GT 1100 isn't as rusty as this car and I wouldn't have the energy you show to fix everything needed. I'm sure this will be a fantastic car once it finished!
Kiitoksia, ja erityiskiitos kotimaisesta yleisöstä ja kommentista.. Kovasti oppimiskäyrän alkupäässä ollaan, mutta hienohan tätä on väännellä pikkuhiljaa kasaan...
Thanks for the comment, and especially liked you comment about series, so there are people following this throughout the process..Now that's rewarding....
Yes, I try to fix original instead of buying repro parts...And I have kept all the removed pieces of the original metal...trying to figure out what to do with them :)
Your editing is as every bit as good as your craftsmanship. I love the stop motion style, makes it really easy to see how everything fits together. I bet it takes a lot of work too, great stuff! I’m building a ‘73 GT myself, and I’m currently in the process of stripping it down. Fun little car to work on so far, nothing overly complicated, though the body work will probably be rough 😬 I’m not nearly as skilled at the metal working as you are.
Thanks for the comment. And yes, it takes about twice as much time, but I think its worth it....Taking car to parts is partly best and worst part of the project. Lot of fast progress, but sometimes at that point you realize that this will require investing much more time and money than originally planned...
My GT isn't as bad as yours, thankfully being a California car. However, your hard work and dedication to your Opel has given me a boost to tackle a terribly rusty Karmann Ghia I have sitting in the barn. As bad as that one is, I think your GT might have it beat! Thank you for the inspiration!
Thanks for the comment, appreciated. Karmann Ghia was my another option to search for a project. Well, Esprit was my number one, GT was a second option. Yes, this is rusty one, but I figured it out that this is more youtube content than one with very little to do ...
Well, that is still a bit undone. I was planning to assemble it, but then I decided to take a timeout, since I am not sure what shall I do with the leaf spring. Definitely will have nylon bushings instead of rubber ones....I will return to the front suspension during the spring...
I know you must have a job too, but.....why not take a vacation so you can make more content? 😂😂😂 I absolutely love youre work! The car as well ofcourse 😅. Keep it going strong man! ❤
Thanks for the comment and motivation.. Yep, with these view counts, I have no other option than to keep my daily job ...But seriously, trying to be a content creator as well as car restorer is actually quite bit fun part of hobby as well....

Hi, I want to renovate my 1970 GT front suspension. I am very much interested in the tool (big arm) you use to release the front spring. What is it called, and, where did you get it ? Thanks. Thierry
Thanks for the comment and question. It is Opel Spring compressor J21689 - special tool (or actually home made version of it). Basically all you need is a beam (strong enough with the threaded bar in the middle) and some way to hook the spring strap...If yo need more information about this, sen me a email (address is in the profile) and I will send more pictures and dimensions...
Hyvä tietää.. Mutta luulen että se kuka tämän auton tulee katsastamaan, on kanavan vakioseuraaja, joten siinä suhteessa peli taitaa olla jo menetetty...

Love your series! I have to believe that if I would have took on this project, episode 2 would have been about my divorce proceedings.
This is by far one of the best comments so far... That would be a plot twist for ones YT series...Thanks for the laughs, and comment, and views....

Honestly, I kinda hoped for less body work.. But I figured it out that it just better UA-cam content...
Erittäin hienoa työtä.

In the end you will have a car that still has its soul. Not the usuall at any price over the top restored bucket. Amazing job.

Nice job keep the faith brother⚒⚒
Thanks for the comment. And I have all the faith still left...
I would have liked to see in more detail how the spring and front suspension were repaired
Well, that is still a bit undone. I was planning to assemble it, but then I decided to take a timeout, since I am not sure what shall I do with the leaf spring. Definitely will have nylon bushings instead of rubber ones....I will return to the front suspension during the spring...

Is this restoration for you or eventual sale?
Just for me, and future generations :D
Muistitko kysyä katsastusinssiltä että saat korjata akselin? 😊
Melkein olin muistavani...

Nope. Kinda hoped for less bodywork, but after facing the reality, I just thought that there is just more material for good youtube content...
WD40 pays millions to ad agents to come up with commercials not even close to that cool video. CUT that guy a CK..WD!!
Well, bit of a over statement, but thanks. Stay tuned for more episodes
