- You may have noticed we've been semi-regularly posting our ninth-most qualified takes on this year's contestants in @EurovisionSongContest
But as we come to the kick off of the contest this coming weekend, we sadly did not make it to every artist and song (heck... we didn't make it to most!). As we have been diligently avoiding watching or listening to any of the songs or performances so we can give our most authentic first reactions (except Danny who has no self control), we are woefully and desperately uninformed of what Eurovision 2024 has to offer.
As Eurovision alumni, this will not do! And there's only one thing for it - we're going to sit down live and watch/react to as many as we can in one go!

Was funny watching Danny announcing the Aus votes in the Eurovision final, the Malmo presenters looked slightly confused when the keyboard came out 🤣Politics aside it was definitely a good Eurovision this year - there were a record 4 acts I liked!
I love how fast Danny pivoted from "wait they can give us money for this?" to extorting the audience for more money 😂

Thanks so much for this and all your other reaction videos, @voyageraustralia . It's great to hear actual musicians talk at length about actual musical points. Doesn't hurt that you all *get* Eurovision and its odd mix of irony, sincerity, highbrow and popular appeal. Btw, my brother and I decided we would pay some serious EUR (or maybe SEKs or EEKs) to hear a metal cover of anything by Ladaniva 🙂

I was not going to watch 4 hours, but I did. This was highly entertaining. Do it again next year! Don't change a thing, don't try a better set up or anything else; that is the whole charm. Only one thing you should look at: if you get tips- make sure you check them so that you acknowledge the senders that might be missed. There were plenty in there who were funny and kind :) Thank you

It's a shame the Azerbeijan stage performance was so flat, it really did not stand out on the night. The music vid is indeed pretty epic and does the song a lot more justice.

Not very nice judging countries that have a very, very low budget. Everything should be considered within context, some artists didn't get any support throughout this whole journey, while others had the opportunity to work with big names in production, staging, etc.
Uhhh, Australia is a country with a very very low budget for Eurovision. SBS pays for basically nothing, these guys had help from the WA state government 's tourism division, and Kate Miller-Heidke had to crowd source from the public for her staging. There's never any guarentee of money.
Plus theses are professionals reviewing other professionals, they're more qualified than most people on youtuber.
@@jazzycat8917 are you seriously comparing Australia and a country like Estonia? I urge you to look at some GDP per capita charts. And I'm not talking about professinals reviewing songs and musicality, they commented on staging and production as well.
For me, Israel's song was the most beautiful.
