Sorry about having to speed up and zoom the parts in the flag parade, sadly not doing that blocked this video in every country, here are subtitles if you cannot understand what he’s saying “Here they come, this is an innovation the parade of the flags, just to make the evening a little bit longer” “If your wondering why they are coming on to a banana rama track Venus was originally sung by Dutch rock band shocking blue and released back in 1969, it’s been remixed by 16 year old Peter Gabriel, not that one, he’s a DJ” “And your not- that is Flo Rida, the multi million selling rapper, *laughs* I don’t know why he’s here”
2021 gotta be one of the best years in Eurovision history. I remember me watching the semi finals with my family and we were consistently shocked with how good almost all of the acts were. I was very confident in Sweden's chance to win once he was elected, but he was majorly outdone by the many of the other great acts of that year. Unbelievably good!
@@lesanimaux4416 Yes the UK is hosting the ESC on Ukraine's behalf. It would normally have been hosted in Ukraine after they won last year, but the ongoing invasion by Russia meant it wasn't possible for them to host.
his commenting is hilarious, this is so entertaining. and it's very different from ours (Norway). we also have some fun moments, but ultimately everything is taken a bit more seriously and (to me) given more cred
Yeah, we Brits tend to take the piss out of it a lot more than mainland Europe do, but imo Graham is quite good at balancing the ridicule with a genuine fondness
It’s a tradition from the Terry Wogan days. The first few contests he commented on seriously, but in 1980 he got a bit, err, shall we say… tipsy… when Ireland won and so he basically had no filter, and people liked it so much that he decided to do a more funny commentary every year.
Thank you, Graham is so funny I agree! Here is a link to a 2022 one, I didn’t make it but it’s got a lot of his funny one liners from the night in it :) ua-cam.com/video/9-LhnlD1ox4/v-deo.html
I watched this year online with my swedish friends getting rather drunk, chanting nil poi, and giggling my arse off... The swedish take eurovision very seriously... I don't think I'm allowed to watch it with them anymore. BUT WE GOT EUROVISION THIS YEAR!! I'd rather there wasn't a war going on and it could take place in Ukraine as it rightfully should but hey, I'm not complaining. Graham better take the piss even more.
I still remember in 2009 when Sweden had that opera entry and the lady who represented Sweden bragged that her dress was 60 000 euros and during the postcard clip Graham was like "allegedly the dress the performer will wear cost 60 000 eur... In my opinion, she could have saved some of that money for make up"😂😂😂
OMG I remember being so embarrassed by Carola when watching her give the points - and I still am, every swede is trying to forget that this ever happened lmao
"if you bought a lockdown puppy and you're trying to train it, she will attempt the highest note ever sung in Eurovision... B6. [Cackles]... good luck, Amy 💅🏻"
Any time me as a Swede try to discuss Eurovision with my mate from the UK he just responds with: "Eurovision? Yeah, we don't take that shit seriously." GEE I WONDER WHY
Up until last year we had two commentators and they were amazing. However it was announced that the guy would be leaving and I am scared of who is going to be replacing him :')
do you watch it on TV? why do you need any commentator if online stream has none and you just get the show? do they block streams for your country? I think I resorted to watching local TV streams only when something happened to youtube stream. our commentators are boring as well.
@@jannadark8100I think the commentators are a big part of the show tbh. Watching just the show is cool and all but the extra info and jokes from the commentator is great.

Pieter, not Peter.
"We're in company. Not good company but we're in it." 😂😂😂 I can't, his commentary is just brilliant.
1:29 Graham on the highest note “My nose is blleeding so I think she achieved it? Well done her. B6!” 💀💀💀
"..less Destiny's Child, and more Destiny's Inappropriate Aunty..." 2:07 🤣
Graham is a treasure that should be protected at all costs
"Was it the longest note? It certainly felt like it" GRAHAM NO
that was 100% the best esc of the past couple years

Finally, someone explaining the Orville reference for us non-Brits!
"Oh, Albania, home of the bush and the statue" :D 5:52
That one kills me every time😂
'are you paid by the minute' Oh Graham
I don't think Graham Norton will be as sarcastic and sassy this year, as he's presenting the ESC himself in Liverpool in May.
I assumed Ukraine would be presenting? It's their win, they just had to move location
@@lesanimaux4416 Yes the UK is hosting the ESC on Ukraine's behalf. It would normally have been hosted in Ukraine after they won last year, but the ongoing invasion by Russia meant it wasn't possible for them to host.

@@JS-ir4sh because they had the best song

A bit more in tune with Eurocynical brits I gather.

Yer... we kinda just take the piss out of Eurovision
Same her in the netherlands but our cometariew do roast some people sometimes

I love graham laughing at his own jokes
“HE’S BEEN TAKEN AWAY”💀
Loved the Smelting Plant outfit 😂😂😂😂
The sheer mockery in the way he said "*good to go!*" has killed me 😂
I just got this video on my recommendations. I need a 2022 edition! It was very hilarious 😅

Swedish eurovision is dope though. We literally have Edward Af Sillén as commentator. He is one of the funniest comedians in Sweden!
Lets be honest, If there wasnt a war in ukraine you would never have won it. Not saying its the worst song but deffinatly shouldnt have won

Same with me, a Brit watching Amanda Holden
"if you bought a lockdown puppy and you're trying to train it, she will attempt the highest note ever sung in Eurovision... B6. [Cackles]... good luck, Amy 💅🏻"
I've this feeling Graham maybe related to Sister George Michael of Derry Girls.
Love from Croatia
I love how Graham didn’t take forever in Liverpool to do the final result. Maybe because of him thinking it takes too long.
Here's one you missed for Finland "Why so angry? Is it the lack of air conditioning in the hotel dressing room?"
san marino is so small representing eurovision i like doing jury service and its his turn again. I died 😂😂
If any Dutchies are watching:
Probably not the first Carola whose moment to shine was cut short by Jan Smit!
“There were going to be 39 countries, but thankfully 13 of them were eliminated” 😂
Graham is the absolute Greatest!!😂😂

He’s hosting too.
“What an exciting evening this will be”
For some 😂
5:00 Can‘t anymore 😂😂😂😂
The one with Finland's "why are you Finns so angry?" (something like that) is missing :(
“Its been 10 years since we won eurovision”
Graham: I know..
I wish he hosted for Australia, we have the worst narrating, they're so awkward and boring and don't really know how to commentate
that's a shame. our commentator (finland) is a eurovision fanboy, it's cute how excited he gets sometimes. I think most people like him.

Albania, home of bush and the bush and the statue😂
Let's do postcards of ESC of 2021 & 2022 next time.
Were El and Niki and it's been ten years. Yes and i still don't care!
Graham Norton thinks he's British.. For some reason I find this funny.
And God Jan and Cornald are a snooze fest when doing the voice overs. Half of the Netherlands zaps to BBC or Belgium to escape the boredom! 😂
german here, i zap to BBC to escape the horribly annoying german live translation
Cornald Maas & Sander Lantinga was very nice though!
The worst part to me is that they sometimes seem to actively hate their job, like then why are you still doing it??
