Hilarious episode. Kevin is always entertaining. My favorite part is when he met Fincher. “Is that what you look like?” Too funny! Thanks for this video.
Now I don't go to theatres anymore, and the tour won't be coming where I live smaller city. But I 💯 will be buying the dvd or Blu ray no hesitation. Can't wait to see the flick.
Thank you Reel Blend for supporting Kevin Smith's work. I think Tusk is one of the most unique (albeit, fucked up) movies. Kevin is very underrated as a storyteller. Even when he revisits his earlier work, (Reboot and Clerks III) he does it in a way that shows how much he's grown as a writer and director. Dick and fart jokes, yes, but both of those movies have a lot of heart too. Red State is a movie that deserves way more attention too. Unfortunately, too many people write Kevin off as just 'the Clerks guy' and don't give his other stuff a chance. I'll see anything he makes. I can honestly say I've enjoyed all of his movies. Yes, even Yoga Hosers.
I made a joke at the box office about it being a "Fathom event". I never fathomed paying $13.00 for a Clerks movie. But it was a event and worth the spend. I have never seen a perfect movie and don't expect to ever see one. This was a complete movie in many ways and was more than I expected. As always Silent Bob got the best dialog... :) Kevin takes care of Bob.
100% agree. Fight Club is amazing. Best novel to film adaptation ever, and I've read the book many times and love it, but goddamn I looove the film. In my top 5 of all time since I saw it opening weekend back in the fall of 1999.
It makes me happy that he's not shitting on himself and self deprecating all the time. That can be fun, but after a while, if you keep insulting yourself, eventually everyone starts to believe it.
I love Kevin Smith. He's awesome as a person. I got into Clerks via Mallrats and Slacker. Having said that, I think Kevin's best film are outside of the AskewUniverse. Zach and Miri and Red State are genuinely great films. Clerks 2 is good, but outside of Chasing Amy I don't think the AskewUniverse is up to much
I was listening to smodcast when he read the wanted ad in that British paper. I voted tusk yes and everyone I knew was just pissed Jay and silent bob wasn't in it. I was like dude it is possible for Kev to make a horror movie. There's a smodcast too where he talked to the guy who wrote the original ad. Kevin should collaborate with that guy for the script. He was clever as hell .
@@WildOneFilms I seen tusk for the first time a couple days ago, tbh it was actually a pretty good horror movie. Felt bad for the main character at the end of the movie
I am also waiting for Barbarians... just watched House of Darkness with Justin Long and while Long was great as always the film was a little too slow for my taste, more of a chamber piece... who else has seen that one...? from Neil Labute (Wicker Man Remake, Lakeview Terrace). THX for the Smith interview though!
Yeah irs more of a web and accepting Jay and Silent Bob could be all over the place the funeral with the swimmer, happens in Mallrats the next day is Clerck, then chasing Amy
But PLEASE NO tusk sequel! I just don’t get it I think, and I love weird comedic and dark stuff (just no senseless splattermovies) but tusk was a movie I don’t get I guess. 🤷🏻♂️ every other movie from you are awesome, keep making them! (Except tusk haha *begs*) I’d rather have something “Dogma’esque”at some point in my life one more time. 🤟 🤘👊🫷🤜🤛🫰👊✊👈THAT’S HOW WE DID IT IN THE NINETIES, SON!
I can’t with this movie. Kevin has always been an inspiration to me, but he’s more recently turned into the poster child for what not to do when writing and being creative.
Smith's monologs are better than anything he's made in at least 10 years. His audience is an echo chamber. Randal, Dante, Jay and Silent Bob doing their slacker shtick in their 50s is just sad now. Like Dane Cook...
In the era where Arnold is the modern John Wayne, Willis is the modern day Clint Eastwood. As for a tabloidy headline - "Smith says New Jersey non-actors better performers than Affleck, SMG, Armisen, Suplee and Garman."
The world needs Yoga Hosers 2: Mini Bratwurst Hitler's Revenge. It writes itself. And it sets up the trilogy with: Return of the Basic. Shot by Randal Graves. And gay hobbit bratwursts take him down. The Colleens buy the store and yoga ensues
It was so depressing, it wasn’t even funny. Suppose to be a comedy man. Just kept asking, “Why are you doing this to the characters we love?” If I could erase one movie from my mind so it didn’t exist, it would be Clerks 3. Then we could just go back to the ending of Clerks 2 again.
I haven't seen Clerks 3 but after watching the trailer and reading the spoilers I now know that I don't want to. It sounds like garbage compared to Clerks 2. I remember when Kevin Smith used to be good.
Kevin says with his flop movies that he was right- just early....it is more like people are bored and have low expectations and nothing better to do and watch them now for free.
Kevin...Clerks lll is awful mate, it's below you. You are so talented please find a new vehicle for your very unique take on life. Just my opinion. Onward.

@One-Eye I am very aware of his Q&A sessions he has done. I have been to several. Again, though those are done completely for him to answer questions, not listen to the audience. What are you even talking about? He doesn't need or want your script advice, dude..lol
49:19 Kevin begins talking about Bruce Willis
i love Kevin Smith, I made him laugh on Fatman Beyond once and I will carry that with me forever
I got to ask him a question once and he said my name real loud and I'll tell you what it made my month
Got to meet the man twice so I know what you're saying.
Tell us how so!
He blew me. Top that. Lol
As a big fan of his I've never seen Kevin talk like this and stand by his work. And it's awesome.
NO FILM has EVER made me cry; the events in CLERKS III made she shed tears. 😢
Bet you didn't laugh at any point though.
I cried because the movie was so bad and it ruined the franchise

Kevin smith keep doing your thing man i love your movies no matter what people say.
Kevin deserves all the recognition for making his own universe pretty much in his own
Glad Kevin changed his mind about retiring. I hope his ice hockey film will happen one day and Tusk 2.
The comment Kevin made on fight club is legendary, knowing that he enjoys the flick in such a way. Awesome

How the hell can you like Clerks lll, it was terrible. Kevin Smith has ruined the franchise. Mallrats 2 is going to suck
Watching this makes me so excited to see this in the theater tonight :D
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
I get all the Moonlighting love but my favorite Bruce movie that isn’t Die Hard is Hudson Hawk. He’s hilarious in it.
He's such a decent genuine guy
He has to do at Clerks 4 with his daughter working at the Quik Stop, or a RST THC, with the rest of the cast

I can't believe he didn't let that company release Dogma for him with them taking on the risk of being sued.
Are they doing the tusk story where the moose kills silent bob isn’t it called MooseJaws
If you want to get technical, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back would be "spin-offs." But point still made.

One of the most overrated directors of all-time.
By what metric? Critics shat on 90% of his work, he’s never been nominated for any Oscars and his films don’t even get a wide theater release
Not really he has a small fan base that watches all of his films. The movies don't make much money and generally get lukewarm reviews from critics.
He's not highly rated...
