Masterpiece: Clerks A-tier: Jersey Girl, The 4:30 Movie B-tier: Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Clerks II, Tusk, Zack and Miri, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, Red State C-tier: Clerks III D-tier: Cop Out (only reason it's not an F is how hilarious Tracy Morgan is, even in this movie) F-tier: Yoga Hosers (I have it rated 1-star on Letterboxd, the only reason it's not a half-star is because Johnny Depp's mole keeps changing position on his face like Richard Lewis in Robin Hood: Men In Tights and once I noticed that it made me laugh out loud)
Dogma holds a special place in my heart. When I was 13, it was the first R rated movie my dad let me watch and I immediately fell in love with it. Afterwards, I asked If I could watch Terminator and the next day we went out and rented Terminator 1, 2 and Jaws. We had one epic movie marathon that night and in just 2 nights those 4 movies helped shape the love of films I have today.
Love Kevin’s passion talking about Smith’s films. I haven’t seen Mall Rats - adding to my watchlist. I also haven’t seen Tusk and won’t, any body modification subject matter I can’t stomach.
Our bad!! Present now haha it’s Friday baby let’s go!!! And Sean I don’t know if I missed an episode but I wanted to hear your thoughts on the Avengers 5 and 6 announcements in comic con! I saw on Twitter you were psyched about Destin Directing Kang Dynasty. Maybe we can hear your thoughts on marvel 5 and 6 altogether after d23? Thanks man notification crew!
@@jaimemitra2003 Boy, that's a complicated answer. I honestly can't believe that we are going to get two Avengers movies in the same year (May and November, for now). And I don't yet see how The Kang Dynasty leads into Secret Wars, because I feel like the latter needs more time to ramp up? But we shall see. The other Phase 6 slots might clear it up, so yeah, D23 will be fascinating. Thanks, Jaime!!
I saw him live and he is lovely! My son always loves clerks, jay and silent bob, j and SB strike back etc so I liked the movies but loved his standup!!!!! Love me some Kevin!
I haven't seen Kevin Smith films (other than Zack & Miri and Red State), so this really helped me filter what I should see. It's gonna be a Kevin Smith weekend here at home. Thank you, guys.
Cop Out isn't as bad as Yoga Hosers. Yes, it's not a Kevin Smith script but as a standard action comedy movie with an action star and a comedian (we've seen a ton of those) it's ok. That script with Kevin directing an action star that actually wants to be there and work would've been much better but instead he had a guy phoning it in and questioning everything he was doing. I also have Dogma as #1 on the Kevin Smith list. It still had the great dialogs and humor but also an actual plot and not just a "day in their lives" type story. It also looked like an actual movie, Clerks and Chasing Amy both suffered from the low budgets and Mallrats kinda looked like a TV movie
Damn I was just watching Jake's super great interview with the Honk for Jesus cast on his youtube so it really threw me on a loop when he said here he absolutely hated it lol
The Mallrats poster , just like Army of Darkness and National Lampoon's are both riffs on Conan the Barbarian by Frank Frazetta (circa 1965) Happy to hear Jake loves "The Sandman", and episodes 5 and 6, "24/7" (Diner) and "The Sound of Her Wings", are the best two hours of TV I've seen this year.
Someone needed to calm Kevin down lol. He took everyone’s opinions so seriously. Overall this was an awesome watch. I’m a massive Kevin Smith fan. I would put Strikes back in “C” territory for me!
making jay and bob leading characters is the best thing Kevin ever done have to disagree with Jake about that also haven’t seen kill roy was here but red state is some of the best work Kevin's ever done outside of his askew universe!
I don't like Dogma that much. It's a great movie in theory, but the performances are uneven and the biggest problem is that there are way too many tedious scenes of characters explaining what's happening. Clerks is my easy favorite
I'm sorry, Clerks I is not an A. You're judging and tiering the movies as the movies themselves, giving the objective assessment ...not the outside factors like "influence" or your personal anecdotes with it. Clerks just isn't up there as an A. Sean is CONSISTENTLY the most objective/rational one throughout the entire thing.
Hard to believe that you all have less than 10K subscribers. It will be fun to look back on once you blow up in popularity!
Here’s hoping! We are so close to 10K. Tell a friend about the show!

For a second there, I thought Gabe was leaving ReelBlend and we were all about to riot.

Would you guys do another UK meet-up one day?
@@jespah18 We would absolutely love to. It's harder nowadays! But we are really hoping to do another live/meetup soon!
@@seanoconnell2073Definitely harder to do so these days! I will try to get over to your side of the pond for one of the meet-ups eventually. Thanks!

I was fortunate to see the first 2 episodes of Rings of Power in the theater and it was incredible
Nah

The ONLY excellent film I have seen by Smith is "Clerks"
I'm so excited for National Cinema Day! I'm bringing a whole bunch of friends out to see 3 Thousand Years of Longing!

I’m as big of a Kevin Smith fan as it gets.
But giving Strikes Back an A is absurd.
Kevin needs to chill with the As

Did Rolando really add "Puss and Boots" to most anticipated balance of year? lol
42:21 lol my reaction...
I'm not a huge Kevin Smith guy but I think Chasing Amy is his best.
I love Yoga Hosers. Genuinely.

Hating on 'Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back' is absolute BLASPHEMY! How dare him!
I wonder what yall think of a little known view askew movie called vulgar kevin smith produced it under th view askew production team
Cop Out is not worse than Yoga Hosers
Chasing Amy and Mallrats are pretty mid films. C at best to both of them, that one guy is practically licking Kevin Smiths cheeks.
Kevin is way too biased on Kevin Smith films. Jay and Silent Bob strike back is nowhere near an A
It’s better than chasing amy!
Yoga Hosers and Cop Out are the worst things he's ever made.
Cop out isn’t as bad as yoga hosers!
@kevinmccarthy do you listen to Fatman Beyond? It would be great to see you join Kevin and Marc.
Reboot was not a good movie lol
I thought it was funny. I laughed out loud numerous times (which I usually don't when watching movies/TV shows)
Starved for content if you’ve been reduced to diving into the Kevin Smith catalog. His films range from awful to mediocre.
Yet he does the most as a director go figure!
