Kev is such a genuine guy i met him a while back at the Melbourne airport and he was so friendly and happy to sign my stuff and take a pic can't say a bad word about him.
Stoners, nerds, and skaters all hated mainstream movies, yet little did they know that all of Kevin Smith’s movies were made by his best buddy, Harvey Weinstein
I, personally, love Jersey Girl. #1 reason is that J-Lo is in it and the movie does not have to be all about her. . . And she dies so minimal dialog spewing from her. It's kind of like my friend loving Kill Bill (2?) because Daryl Hannah gets her head slammed into a toilet seat. He says that it is the best scene ever created. (Sorry Daryl) #2: the "Girl" was so cute and stole every scene. She made whatever Ben did good or even better. Also, having a daughter and she is the best thing that ever happened to me. #3: George Carlin. #4: I can appreciate how Kevin made it in memory of his father and it show a multi-generational element of that. And, how multiple men came together to take care of the daughter. And, all of the men showed some level of vulnerability. So, it was was very male/father-positive. It is hard to find that in Hollywood. Maybe that is why people have a hard time liking it. It sounds like Kevin did not have that many great words to say about his father, but, it sounds like he was able to break the cycle.
That cartoon he's talking about...would he happen to be talking about Sailor Moon? I mean, it's not 80's and it's anime (not a cartoon) but this is the closest I can think of.
I don't think so. He specifically said "80s cartoon", and Sailor Moon was fully in the 90s. Best I can figure is that it's Jem and the Holograms. He said it's "a superhero KIND OF angle, because of dual identities", and Jem isn't a superhero, but she has a dual identity as a rockstar, achieved via hologram technology. The toy company he's talking about would be Hasbro.

Love you lunchbox....you got me through some hard times...and you're still doing it now
Thnx for posting! I jist clerks 3 for my bday weekend ( 9/15) and it was great!😊🥰❤️
Happy Birthday! :D What a treat!
I can't be the only one who wants an official sequel to Dogma.
YASSS! MN represent!! 🤘
Only problem is, Dante should have been the one who had a Heart Attack and wanted to make a movie since that is the character based on Kevin.
True.. but with Randel and his was of acting and thinking previously we never saw any actual emotions from him.. Makes for a better movie

To be fair it's easy to tell your kid they can do anything when you're a millionaire
At First, I found Clerks 3 lame, obsolet and almost cringe....AND THEN THE CRY-FEST BEGUN!!!! Duuude!!! Smith really is a Genius!
So it's either cringe an cry or laugh an cry? I choose the latter sir.

It's whenevs!! Is we about to Babble the Funk ON?? xD
I think he is talking about Jem & the holograms
I love how he calls his daughter “man”
Where I was I when mallrats came out in 1995 I was one.
At 20:00 who is he talking about? Ikea guy with the mustache on tiktok?
scott seiss
For the cartoon, I was going to suggest My Little Pony, but then I remembered Bronies exist
Did a real bad job of talking about writing Jem, without saying it was Jem.
I came here to post Jem and the Holograms and I was not disappointed.
I thought it was that
Didnt they tell you not to film?
For Kevin Smith? No.
@@ammarossdanan weird. At my q&a they had security guards stopping people from even taking photos
@@ammarossdanan i was at the second stop of the tour, maybe they didnt want it leaking early?
@@Ottophil True. Clerks 3 had been out for a week or so at the time, so that could be why.

@@AWSVids My first thought was Josie and the Pussycats, but that is more 70's. So it probably was Jem... or Rainbow Brite.
How would he know?
I’m guessing Jem
I bet it's jem and the holograms
Quick question, is Kevin Smith getting smaller or is his jackets getting bigger?
He did lose some weight it looks like, but I bet he's just getting bigger jackets :D
He looks like a little kid dressing in his father's clothes.
He lost a bunch of weight after his heart attack. He went vegan I think and started watching what he ate.
@@BimBurger yup, he's the thinnest he's been since high school, something like 180 lbs...
