Hi Dani! Would you consider putting the dog crate on the window wall between the couch and tv? It would tuck it away and make a cozy spot for your doggie.
Im glad Dani found you April. It seems like she might have been paralyzed to go through item by item. She really doesn't know what she already owns. She definitely is not using what she already owns, and you are helping her realize that have several years supply of things or duplicates (some of which can't be used) is not beneficial in her life. Gathering things together should help her realize that she doesn't need more of items. In fact, she is definitely realizing how much money she is wasting on duplicates. If only we could clone you April. So many people need your services. Dani, you are making great progress. Keep it up!
She likely had so many as she didn't know where they all were. If she gives herself time to use them out, she could get them to fit in there and limit herself in quantity.
I am enjoying this séries. IT is so real, because, as we live our lives, we collect things. We're not wrong, it just happens. This séries demonstrates how one can declutter realistically.😊
Coffee and April decluttering on a Sunday morning. Love this. I love the transformation of this home so far and was waitingbfoe this kitchen declutter!!!
Ditto - and it's usually a good long video. I love watching Dani (and April) and the progress is amazing. Looking forward to episodes 2 and 3 of the kitchen.
Can't wait to see the next one! For anyone that doesn't know, honey is one food that never ever goes bad. It may start to crystalize but, all you have to do is set the jar in some warm water to liquefy it again. Never throw out honey, it is so good for you.
Just put shoes in her closet room so that the whole cabinet is free for her pantry items. I think, if in South Korea shoes are suppose to be near gate, so it should be kept in a console or small cabinet outside. It’s weird near your kitchen your shoes are there. And a lot of space could be allotted to her kitchen items which are scattered everywhere on the counter. Furthermore I think her plants in the living room should be behind her window not in the whole living room. Since it will give more space to her. But, April is doing her best to give her new space. ❤️❤️
Def move shoe cabinet to closet room or her BR! Once u guys have gone thru the rest of the kitchen decluttering u will know what n how much space she needs for storing. Maybe then replacing of some of the existing shelving w more efficient storage that has closed doors or drawers? Or at least u inform looking shelving to improve overall look of the kitchen? Love this series so much ladies!!!❤❤
Cats love feet and shoes because of the strong scent! Lucy was excited to rub the scent from Dani's shoes on to her own body, mixing it with her own (cat have scent glands on their whisker areas)- it's an act of love/ bonding!
Shoes..... I also live in a country where shoes are NOT worn in the house. I store my shoes in with my clothing (tiny wardrobe) and keep only my 2 daily wear pairs at the door. When I am setting out my clothes for my work day I decide which shoes to wear at the same time (professional office). When I come home at the end of my work day I put my professional clothes & shoes away. This aids in keeping my entry clear. It does mean i give my shoes a quick wipe before putting them away.
When I went back to work after having my child I moved all my "corporate high heels" into my office at work. I realized there was no way I was doing the daycare run in heels so I wore my flats out the door and switched into my heels at my desk. Side bonus was being able switch shoes at lunch when I needed to run errands.
@@ckee8437 Wonderful!! I used to have my professional shoes at the office but I now split my time between 2 different companies an hour apart from each other (different communities completely) ...m
The shoe cabinet - use one of the drawers for lint rollers. It looks so much better with the floor cleared. The space on the left hand side that you're getting to next week; once that space is cleared/organized there would be room for a rolling cart to give her some storage underneath and a work surface on top for her baking. She could even store her baking supplies in the cart. I'm glad you're back for the kitchen, hope to see you help in the bathroom as well, a complete apartment reset for her. She's such a sweet person and wonderful personality, she deserves a great space to live in.
I'm agreeing with others. Shoes, to me, belong in the wardrobe room. Shoe storage in the kitchen skeeves me out, just like that worm thing did to April lol. And it would free up that space in the kitchen for food/appliances/odds and ends, aka kitchen stuff, storage. Love this series! It inspires me every time! Thank you Dani, for being so open and vulnerable. It's very brave.
agree... there's a bunch of tiny creepy crawlers that get caught in them outside and then end up taking a walk in your apartment... apart from bunch of bacteria and dirt. You wouldn't want that anywhere near the counter.
For me, shoes belong next to the entrance, ideally, you would have there only seasonal shoes or shoes you wear in day-to-day life, and it depends on what kind of space you have. My parents have a closet for shoes in the entrance, I have my non-seasonal shoes in my bedroom closet only because I don't have a closet in the entrance. And Dani's space looks like she can't move the shoe closet so she has to work with the space she has.
The shoe situation inspired me to get up & rearrange mine by seasons 🎉 Then the bathroom counter needed a spritz & wipe when I was washing my hands. 😂 Dani is contagious! ❤❤❤
That's what I've been doing recently. Watching April and Dani decluttering gave me a motivation boost to declutter and clean the house myself, too. Speaking of cleaning the bathroom: I always wonder where's Dani's bathroom? Or does she have a shared/communal one? Sorry I'm not familiar with the living/housing situation in South Korea (? - I think it is where Dani lives. If I'm wrong please feel free to correct me on that). Also: Non-native speaker here. So please be kind - if any words are used incorrectly it's not intentional. I hope I phrased the thing with the shared bathroom correctly (not sure on that).
Put the “ party stuff” in a clear bin with snap lid or a plastic bin drawer by or under the liquor cart so there is a party area. I like drawers because they’re easier to throw stuff into. Great job ladies, you inspire me!
Her dog, Ricky is so adorable! I would want to carry and pet him all day 🤣🤣 So cute Dani is doing a great job decluttering. April you are doing awesome helping Dani declutter.
😂 April and Lucy crack me up. 🐈 Looking forward to Kitchen declutter part 2. I agree with everyone else. Put the shoes with clothes and use the pantry for canned and bottled goods.
If she’s allowed to drill the walls, the wall space above the ledge would be great for a few long shelves with jars for baking ingredients, spices, etc. I am obsessed with this series. Well done to both of you. What a great team. I do this for a living as well, and chemistry with clients is very important.
Keep a list of "projects" on your phone and schedule them like medical appointments. If you keep putting them off, that's a sign that you are not committed to completing them and you should just declutter the materials. New drinking game: Take a swig whenever Dani says, "I was gonna..."
i love decluttering chanels. I also watch Clutterbug and Dani is definitely a Butterfly! I like things hidden away so i do not see the clutter chaos. But Butterflies need to see their stuff so that they remember they have it, and then they can use it. I would go crazy... Thats why, when you help reorganize someone elses stuff, you need to do it based on their use of their space. This is somethig I learned through the years: there are many different ways to organize, and it depends on your personality and your way of using your space. Clutter makes me so anxious. I recently decluttered my whole top floor including my kitchen and living room because I was redoing my kitchen. I ended up giving everything away except a couple of furniture pieces, and i started fresh. I maintain it by doing a reset of my kitchen every evening, as well as a reset of my living room. This way, it will not get cluttered again, and when we get up in the morning the rooms are clear and clean. We have been able to maintain this and i am much calmer.
@@paulawloe7743 what i mean by reset is that before sitting down for the evening, my kitchen is picked up, dishes put in the dishwasher , salt and pepper put away, the counters are cleared and everything is put back in its place. The sinks are clear or any dishes, and washed. Towels hung where they belong. My kitchen is ''reset''. That way i don't feel guilty if i am sitting down in my living room watching tv lol! Then when i am ready for bed, i pick up anything that is out of place in the living room(any cups or glasses are put in the dishwasher), i replace the cushions and throw blankets on the sofa and chairs, put away the laptops, and voila! My living room is ''reset''. Then I start my dishwasher for the night. In the morning the dishwasher is emptied so that it is ready for dirty dishes during the day. If you do this everyday, you home will never be cluttered.
Everyone loves the Dani series. She's so realistic and fun. And her smile is lovely. Such great progress. Could you persuade her to go to Ikea (or whatever you have) and buy some proper storage cupboards for the back wall of the kitchen? It's always going to look a mess with all the different colours, heights, styles of shelves and stuff. A wall of simple white doors would make it look so much bigger and house everything she needs including foodstuffs. You have worked wonders on this flat between you. I take it this is a top floor flat? What is the ledge for that runs round the whole place? That makes things really awkward in places. But I guess it's structural or it would not be there. When she said everything melts in her home during summer I wilted. I hate being too hot and top floors of anything are always too hot for me.
$150 is decent money pay bills with that. Hopefully Dani is on a shopping freeze as that will help with space making. Also, I love her fur babies making cameos and being little Diva's cute.
I can feel for this person, I know the filling up the space process. The realization that if you don’t drink…don’t keep alcohol, if you don’t get to projects give yourself permission to donate sell and throw out . Clutter can be armor to keep yourself buffered from feeling good about your home . Best wishes and great job ❤
Ooooo that was soooooooo satisfying! If you are able to fix to the wall could you do shallow shelves over the cupboard opposite the shoe cabinet to display the Starbucks cups, so that they are properly on display and she can enjoy looking at them rather than being bunched up on the fridge where you can’t really see them?
this series brings me endless joy❤ also you and dani’s growing friendship and banter is hilarious 😂 love the dynamic you guys got going on!! cant wait for part 2🎉
1st time I have seen the organizer be so respectful and kind with the persons’ items. She kept asking her nicely and let her decide and even Dany would answer herself on letting go of the item without any pressure
Yes! I was just about to comment this! Would look so cool to have a uniform look on the ledge. And keep the big jars for ingredients she uses more of like rice and baking stuff, and the small jars for ingredients she uses less often.
Great idea. And you can get plastic lids that fit the jars, if you don't want to be bothered with the ring and seal. We use those same jars for leftovers in the fridge, too. Alternatively, Dani can have a party with all that booze, served in her Starbucks mugs and ball jars. 🤣
She is sooooo good at what she does.😊Asking her questions and having her think about it is going to do more good than anything because it will get just like that all over again.
So glad that you ladies have finally tackled Dani's kitchen. How did she ever make her coffee cake in there? Having a knowledgeable guide to guide her has certainly helped her; one can see her decluttering muscles grow as the series has progressed. Like her I have so many projects that I "thought" I'd get to but never have. Now I'm being ruthless! Yesterday most of my needlework booklets of directions went. Maybe next should be my canning jars of all sizes? Blessings to you both from central Georgia USA.
Me too ... I also love decluttering. I learned from you that patience is very important.. decluttering is a process ... We can't force others to declutter more things
I would invest in a large cupboard ( or two)with doors, to put on the fridge wall, instead of having all the little storage. It would make the kitchen look less cluttered. What progress! I'm enjoying the process.
You are making good progress. A big part of decluttering is changing the habits that cause you to accumulate so much. I am sure you are already experiencing this and working on changing your purchasing habits. Best wishes to you on your new decluttered future.
Dani, have you ever tried refrigerator pickles? They might scratch the homemade pickle itch but in small batches that don't require canning or storing.
So happy this process is started! I love the method and seeing it applied. You’re so good at directing and adapting to your client, April. It’s crazy how much has been done just by that clutter and corralling things together that will ultimately go together. The feeling of accomplishment is really validating. Also, I found myself shouting poop bags during the whole drawers sequence!
I admit I might have missed something but since there’s room now in the clothesroom, wouldn’t it make more senseto put theshoes there(the ledge) anduse thatcloset for kitchen stuff 🤔
I think it's the Korean way of living. You don't wear shoes indoors and so would never store them further indoors. They are usually stored right by the entrance. I live in the US and our family always kept our shoes either in the garage or in the foyer closet.
I also have random stuff sitting around and trying to figure out what to do with it. Working overnight shift makes it harder yet cuz I'm always tired. Thank you for sharing!
Dani likes to cook. I cannot imagine how she ever did with no counter space. I have to have a place for everything or I can’t function. I do agree with others to try on all the shoes you kept, get rid of the uncomfortable ones and move shoes to the closet room. Then that very nice cabinet will be useable in the kitchen.
so glad i fount this channel today. my bedroom looks like this because I have no storage space so everything is all out in the open and over time, I've gotten more things and there's just so much visual clutter that it's so overwhelming to even start. i really wish i had someone close who could come over with no judgement and push back (gently haha) the way you do here. (I also have a Starbucks tumbler problem and a mug problem in general so i know how Dani feels about those haha) I'm going to watch these and use them as a guide to clear out my own space :D
Such a nice supportive organizer. Collecting stuff is a mental issue and it's hard to be rational about what you can keep in the space you have. It's easier with a person who doesn't have any emotions tied up in the stuff. They are more objective and encouraging.
When i found your first video i said this is my channel! And it needs saying again! This is my CHANNEL! I was thinking "I wish I had an April", but i got her. I'm learning so much! Dani is a rock star! i said in the last video that Dani was lighter in her energy and i see it even more. Dani you are glowing! I look forward to seeing your next video. Such and inspiration and motivation for me.
I’m not going to lie, that kitchen gives me some serious anxiety 😖 I moved from a 2400sq ft home into a fifth wheel. I love to cook and bake and I found that I didn’t need that much stuff to do those things. I found kitchen items with multi purpose that made the big down sizing so much easier. Also, I only have food that I eat, I don’t have excess, it’s easy to see, and I have saved money in the process. I’m not a collector of anything, so I don’t get the cup collection specially if you don’t use the on a regular basis. Another thing I have learned in My years of decluttering and helping others do the same, the collection become expensive and in most cases they don’t really bring any value to anyone else when you try to sell them. I had a friend that had all these collections and when she moved and was overwhelmed with the stuff, she tried selling it, only to find out that most people didn’t want any of it. It was such a waste of time and money, she did the numbers and instantly regretted it. She was in some debt, so she realized she could have easy have put that money towards paying off her student loan and other debts.
I lived in a mobile home for 45 years. I had to learn big space wasn't an option. When you're in a small space one of the things I learned is you have to go up and not out. There's no floor space for that. The other thing I learned is that multi use stackable storage containers that you can see thru become a best friend, especially if you are storing kitchen items that aren't used as much but still needed seasonally like for canning, holidays, etc...stack them up and still where they can be visual. The biggest thing to do in the kitchen, bathroom, closets, etc, I think is LABELING. you can find nice labels on Amazon, etc...and boy, does it help ya later.
I’d have a ball helping yall declutter and organize this space. I’m hoping yall end up using more vertical space, perhaps with shelves or tall cabinet.
Golly - I felt like I was right there in the room with the two of you SO MUCH that when I had to pause the video for a moment and get up, I looked behind me so that I didn't accidentally roll my chair back and hit Ricky!! Thanks for your sharing your techniques and this comfortable working relationship. Inspiring in many ways...
I agree with others who are suggesting that the extra shoes being moved into the closet room. I have a similar amount of shoes and I keep my whole collection in my closet. I have a small bench by the door that holds just my 3-4 current shoes in rotation. Since Dani seems to be passionate about cooking and making things, more kitchen storage would be super handy!
One or two pairs of Shoes at the entrance, as is typical in Korea, is one thing, but a whole shoe cabinet in the kitchen is not something I would be comfortable with.
Dani I hope you kept your Mason jars!!!!! They are so much more expensive now! It's not that you need fewer projects etc, you need a friend to help do them with ❤
Dani is my fave. She’s so nice and open to changes. I just decluttered all of my clothes yesterday! I still have more things (shoes, supplies, Beauty) to declutter and I’m doing my office rn! Just taking a break.
I feel like wall shelves on the back wall could be super helpful... but in general I think there's a ton of underutilized wall space and storage solutions.
Great job!!! We decluttered our huge travel Starbucks mug collection and now I have approximately 6 of my favorites that I use all the time and enjoy every day. Thanks for inspiring me!!! I can’t wait for the next kitchen video. Big hugs to you both. 😊
Love this method - I do something similar. Pick a room, pick a cupboard/dresser, pick a shelf/drawer, and start there. Purge, clean, re-organize (in a way that brings you joy when you open it), see if you need to get some better boxes for organising. Work your way from top to bottom, clockwise around the room. Seeing the order 'spread' is highly motivating. :)
Dani continues to impress me. Making those quick decisions can be difficult, but she's doing it without a problem. 👏👏👏 Question👉 What are the ledges for??? I never saw anything like that until I saw Dani's place.
I know we are not there yet but the question “How many do you realistically need?” will help reduce inventory-lighters, socks, lint rollers, scissors, vases, cups, etc. Dani is only one person. Can’t possibly use it all.

Question. Why have her keep the shoes in the kitchen??? She should put them in another room so she has more room in the kitchen area!!

The home owner is so sweet. The woman helping is also good as she doesn't force people to let go of things.

Dani is the best friend we all wish we had, the teacher we all wish we had, and declutterer extraordinaire!!!
I am enjoying this séries. IT is so real, because, as we live our lives, we collect things. We're not wrong, it just happens. This séries demonstrates how one can declutter realistically.😊
That kitchen is matching the calm energy of the living room area ❤. Can’t wait to see the final result. Good work Dani!
I’m so invested in this series now. Love it when you post a longer video. Can’t wait for the next week!!!❤
A tablespoon of honey will sustain a person for 24 hours. One of God's greatest gifts. Heals burns quickly.
Thats what I thought 😊 Everything related with clothing in her new walking closet.
Yes, I agree!!❤
Yes!
Yes! That's what I came here to say too!
Dani is getting brighter and brighter through this process. Great work girls!!!!
Dani is doing such a great job. I love the questions that you ask in follow up. "How will you hold yourself accountable?" I felt that one!
Dani did mention her brother-in-law gave her the shoe cupboard. So it must have been free standing then.
@@SunflowerFromDeathAgree, my shoe cabinet is right at the front door.
@@mika72.-Bois in comments Dani actually answered and said that the shoe cupboard is built in
The shoe situation inspired me to get up & rearrange mine by seasons 🎉 Then the bathroom counter needed a spritz & wipe when I was washing my hands.
@@1787audrey Another way of saying “shared” would be “communal” and you’re doing very well expressing yourself 👏🏻
Declutterring the front of the fridge will go a long way to adding visual calm to Dani’s kitchen.
Agree!
My dad is like that, wants something in every inch of something. His walls too. It makes me feel claustrophobic.
Put the “ party stuff” in a clear bin with snap lid or a plastic bin drawer by or under the liquor cart so there is a party area. I like drawers because they’re easier to throw stuff into. Great job ladies, you inspire me!
Her dog, Ricky is so adorable! I would want to carry and pet him all day 🤣🤣 So cute
Dani is doing a great job decluttering. April you are doing awesome helping Dani declutter.
Taking everything off the front and side of the fridge will make a HUGE difference in visual clutter. It will make the room look bigger! :)
Agree!
I like everything to be aesthetically pleasing. So definitely clear the front of the fridge.
She could even put a book shelf there
Keep a list of "projects" on your phone and schedule them like medical appointments. If you keep putting them off, that's a sign that you are not committed to completing them and you should just declutter the materials. New drinking game: Take a swig whenever Dani says, "I was gonna..."
😂😂😂😂😂.... good points!
This was done so gently and without pressure and overwhelm. Both ladies so sweet and genuine. Great job! Careful .. you're inspiring me! 🙂
i love decluttering chanels.
What is meant by "doing a RESET of the kitchen or living room each evening?" CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN PLEASE? IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING I NEED TO DO! 😇🤩
@@celinescrappassion2184 ahh great routine 😍
I am so excited you started on the kitchen. It was overwhelming me, I wanted to come over and help. GREAT WORK DANI!
You have to love the Starbucks marketing machine that can make you think you must have every New Years cup. But, all-in-all, you're doing great, Dani!
Whenever I see a Dani video I get so excited! She is truly inspiring human being.
Look at the loyal dog everywhere. He is so excited at the sound of the tingling ball and wants to play with the frisbee😂😂
Dani loves starbucks and this is definitely a collection that deserves a visible pretty display shelf
1st time I have seen the organizer be so respectful and kind with the persons’ items. She kept asking her nicely and let her decide and even Dany would answer herself on letting go of the item without any pressure
You can always decant things into the Ball jars. Then they would all match and they’re stackable. Dani, you are doing an amazing job.
Yes and put on ledge behind sink all matching. Would lower the visual overwhelm by being identical containers..coffee, rice, yeast, etc.
🤣
Love the talkative ginger cat and of course the adorable pooch ❤
YAY! The way I ran to you when I saw the upload 😂 hi hi!
😝 love it! Hope you enjoy it, it’s a long one. Can’t wait to share the final results with you soon!!!
@@SpaceMakerMethod oh, time flies by when you're having fun! Love the long-term content, April 🥳
Me too ... I also love decluttering. I learned from you that patience is very important.. decluttering is a process ... We can't force others to declutter more things
Yeesss!!
I agree! April is very good at directing and adapting to her client. Well said 😊
Ricky is just adorable! What a great job on the kitchen!
We’re de cluttering the kitchen today! Where should we start? Shoes! 😂
😆 🤣 😂
…and poop bags 🤣❣️
So funny!
😆😆😆
Move over Dani, we have a new star in the house! ❤Ricki❤ the camera loves you girl!!
First time on this channel and I just adore this homeowner! She's so relatable and fun. Thanks to the organizer for the respect you showed.
I would start reconsidering how many backups to buy of everything. Makes a difference in a smaller space. Nice progress!
so glad i fount this channel today. my bedroom looks like this because I have no storage space so everything is all out in the open and over time, I've gotten more things and there's just so much visual clutter that it's so overwhelming to even start. i really wish i had someone close who could come over with no judgement and push back (gently haha) the way you do here. (I also have a Starbucks tumbler problem and a mug problem in general so i know how Dani feels about those haha) I'm going to watch these and use them as a guide to clear out my own space :D
I really love the owner when she asks for help.
Such a nice supportive organizer. Collecting stuff is a mental issue and it's hard to be rational about what you can keep in the space you have. It's easier with a person who doesn't have any emotions tied up in the stuff. They are more objective and encouraging.
You may want to take off all the magnets on the fridge. I did this to mine and feel so much better when I come into my kitchen.
For the whale butter dish she could still put the butter in it but in the fridge that way she can use it year round.
I'm loving the Dani and Tracy series so much ❤❤
Dani is SO sweet! I love her personality, I bet she is a FUN teacher !
You have made a HUGE progess! It's unbelievable! 🎉🎉🎉 Good luck with the next kitchen decluttering part!
You did awesome Danni! It is not easy getting rid of things and you handled that like you meant business!
Thank you! 😊
I think that you can put a shelf on the left counter to make space. Tumblers can be storaged in wine racks too!
Yippppppeeeeee!!! A Dani video! Been waiting for the kitchen do over! Great progress ladies!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’d have a ball helping yall declutter and organize this space. I’m hoping yall end up using more vertical space, perhaps with shelves or tall cabinet.
I’d put Lint rollers in drawer in cab with shoes
It's not that you need fewer projects etc, you need a friend to help do them with ❤
Wowie. She has such good intentions she's going to use all these things. Small progress but great job.
Dani is my fave. She’s so nice and open to changes. I just decluttered all of my clothes yesterday! I still have more things (shoes, supplies, Beauty) to declutter and I’m doing my office rn! Just taking a break.
I feel like she should consolidate all her Starbucks collection in a type of storage that would display them
I want to see them all in that Ikea curio next to Dani's fridge.
Yes. She could use the display cabinet she already has in the kitchen.
Yay 🎉Space Maker Method! 🎉With Dani!!Thank you both in advance. I'll make a cuppa, watch and no doubt be inspired.
It's a rooftop apartment. There were so many silly design choices when they built it. 😂😂😂
@@daniphillips Thanks Dani! Keep up the great work!😊
I know we are not there yet but the question “How many do you realistically need?” will help reduce inventory-lighters, socks, lint rollers, scissors, vases, cups, etc.
Dani is only one person. Can’t possibly use it all.
