Not to the extent of AHAs nor tretinoin for me, but yes, after a month of daily use.
Have you tried vitamin C, Alpha-arbutin or Azelaic acid for skin brightening?

From the DIY masks excellent result has this one: ua-cam.com/video/w_PdAbhCgE8/v-deo.html as well as turmeric masks.
From the drugstore - vitamin C is among the best active ingredients for skin brightening.
Be careful with the concentration, however. If you start with a high-percentage, such as The Ordinary Vitamin C 23% - it stings a lot in the first weeks of use. You can dilute a small drop with your usual moisturizer and increase the amount gradually to the tolerated one/ only the product without the moisturizer. It might oxidize a bit initially (you would look more orange-toned until you wash out the product and see the results).
You can have a look at this guide as well: theordinary.deciem.com/vitcguide

I did not experience visible brightening. It might be with people who don't use other actives and the Niacinamide had significant results. I cannot confirm the same.
