Yes this is a REAL tear-jerker. My mother was my best friend for over 50 years. She went to heaven 12 years ago. 5 months after her 103 yr old mother did. I tell everyone that God told her I have given you 5 months of rest! Now get up here and take care of this woman. For 6 months after she passed I could not touch my bible without breaking down and sobbing. I couldn't talk about her without breaking down and sobbing. If everyone who loved my mother had been at her Memorial we would have been able to fill Purdue Stadium. My mother became my best friend when I was 9. She explained to me the facts of life. I have a doll who is 62 years old and she is the only 'person' who knows things about me that I could not tell my mother. The one thing that God did give me was her voice. After I became an adult I only lived close to my mom the last 14 years of her life. Even before that God gave me 'her' voice. Whenever I need her around I sing and I can hear my mother singing. Thankfully it has been that way all my adult life. Thank You for this song. ;-)

We played this at my Daddy's funeral. He died when I was 14, but it had already held meaning from when my grandparents (his parents) died.

It's been a few years since I listened to this song I remember the first time I heard it my grandfather and I were driving around and listening to the radio and it came on we listened and when it ended he said something I never heard him say mainly because he liked most music especially country so when he said I loved that song I knew he meant it so 2019 he passed at 91 that night I cried and listened for the last time until tonight where I'm currently crying but listening still.
This song had be sobbing when it rained on my bestie's wedding day as I explained her Dad was with her.
