u did it again...been waiting for such test comparisons. all the work u.. deserve to be top reel reference regardless any critics...nobody perfect but whos doing the work...u the man.
I'd honestly buy older casting reels rather than most new ones. I've got 3 casting reels (Aldebaran MG7, Curado 51e, and a Scorpion XT1500) that are all over 9 years old. I'd rather buy more of these then any 200-250$ range casting reel on the market now.
Haha, I wish there were little shops like that over seas here. I bet he got those reels for a wicked price. I love the Citica E, that reel was one of my favourites before I sold it
I think an interesting test with these bushing would be to freeze them and use a micrometer to measure them, measure them at room temp, and then measure them heated up a little. I think some of the problems with these bushings could be how they expand or shrink under different temps
At first thought, I wasn’t interested to see shimano’s with bushings.... but second thought was, if I ever fished salt water, can using the bushings allow me to make a good temporary salt water reel?? (Obviously a good cleaning to avoid other components from corroding)
Just one question, are you supposed to oil bushings in the first place? Putting the noise issue aside for the moment, I guess what I am trying to say is could you have slowed down the spinning of the bushings by soaking it in oil overnight?
Alex Fu I’ll answer for him because I had one and got rid of it. If you don’t put oil, the bearings stick to the spool, well I dk if stick is the word but it buzzes up and down and distance is lost if you don’t oil them
it could have possibly slowed them down but I doubt it, when I first got the Z the bushings had this clear gel lubricant on them, at least the one on the spool.
well the only thing noteworthy about the Z were the "revolutionary" bushings... so you can get a pack to try in your Daiwas and see if you think they are better
oh no..lol just the fact that the bushings dont perform up to the hype again that 13 fishing tries to claim. I get the salt water thing but i wouldn't waste your money on throwing them in a shimano they dont give any extra distance already.
As a fisherman, I would say no it isn't worth buying the bearings for any Shimano. As a youtuber, you must think is it worth buying one set to do the test to answer the question as well as make more money on youtube? lol. We will let you decide. Content is content... but I think going into it we would already know the answer.
I think its a valid video to make with Shimano being so popular. I would do it to a Daiwa but the Tatulas have such a stupid ass design that requires removal of the handle sideplate to access one of the bearings.
Hey my birthdays coming up and i want a jdm reel. Is japantackle.com a trust worthy website to order from? I dont really no to much about where i should order a reel from
Qaibstreetline Asianredneck having thrown two for a couple months on a crankbait/jerkbait rod and MH jig/etc rod and also switching it to a frog rod, I completely disagree. They are readily available at 130/140 now and for that price they are far and away best in class, but they’re also superior to several $200 range reels. I fish them alongside shimano curados and they cast better and are equal in smoothness of operation. They I have maintenanced them once in a very basic sense. I can’t speak to longevity but absent any abuse I don’t see many complaints
love all your _"let's change this parameter to see if it casts further now"_ videos
no one else has the time to perform such field tests 👍

Great research! Awesome delivery of information!
These bushings seem to be all marketing with little to no performance benefits. Everyone who's testing them seems to be drawing the same conclusions.
I wouldn't mind dropping some casting distance for maintenance free bushings. I am tired of rusted out ball bearings.
I have to say, JDM Abu Garcia reels are pieces of art!
They seem to be built better back then too

check out the latest Jon B video then

This was a really cool test and fun to watch. I think you should try performing the opposite and putting like SpoolSpeed bearings in the ConceptZ
There might be a reason they scrapped bushings way back when they tried them the first time and the rest worked on improving the bearings, hmm lol.
I think an interesting test with these bushing would be to freeze them and use a micrometer to measure them, measure them at room temp, and then measure them heated up a little. I think some of the problems with these bushings could be how they expand or shrink under different temps
Also I’d like to see you put bearings in the z instead of the bushings

Darryl Shisler bushings are awesome in surfcasting reels. Bullet proof
I liked the video, but the background music was a little distracting. Sorry for whining.
Agree, the music got annoying and repetitive. Very distracting.
Michael Edens I agree to loud be ok if it faded out
No I would think the blind test will work better
Put some boca's in that revo and try again just to see
CZB= cubic zirconia bearing ?
Isn’t there 3 bearings on the axel ?

OK, got it, guys. So, I guess the conclusion is the Concept Z is all hype then. Thank God, I backed off from getting one.
well the only thing noteworthy about the Z were the "revolutionary" bushings... so you can get a pack to try in your Daiwas and see if you think they are better
True. But, if I am going to lose 15ft on every cast, I doubt I would be a happy camper though.
You know you buy reels from japan. How long does it take for them to restock the certain reel you want to buy?
I think that depends. I know you can send an email and ask. Also alot of shops do special orders
IMHO, 13 fishing is a joke
I've got an old Pflueger Patriarch that looks an awful lot like that Gen 2 revo!
Both made by Doyo :)
Sure ne neat test... But doubt my old school arse ever swap to bushings
Just too funny , again.
are you talking about 6:40 in the video? lol
oh no..lol just the fact that the bushings dont perform up to the hype again that 13 fishing tries to claim. I get the salt water thing but i wouldn't waste your money on throwing them in a shimano they dont give any extra distance already.
I have a pinnacle extant hs and it has a bushing like a czb lol

Damn 😬😬
CZB bearings are not supposed to be soaked in oil. The screeching noise can be remedied by tightening the tension knob properly.
I addressed that in the last video but you get even less distance
THE REEL TEST 👊
Hey my birthdays coming up and i want a jdm reel. Is japantackle.com a trust worthy website to order from? I dont really no to much about where i should order a reel from
yes they are legit but more expensive than other shops
What would you recommend?
digitaka or japanlureshop
Czb bushing are no good, concept Z baitcaster I think it's over price
