Thanks for this. I've played SH3 for many years and never heard the spread angle explained in this way, mentioning how to determine it as a function of ship length. I prefer, like you, to aim individual torpedoes, but use salvoes occasionally. I never used a formula, just used intuition and set tighter spreads as range increased.

Thanks for the comment mate! And yea , intuition is your best tool in SH3. Much like it was IRL.
I don't use salvoes too much for the same reasons, but when I do I have a precalculated chart for determining actual spread over distance.
