Few things I would like to address.
Firstly , this video was supposed to come out days ago but I landed a nasty case of the good old flu and I've been feeling a bit like an undead for a few days now.
Secondly if the video feels rushed it's because it is. I really do hope it doesn't take away from the enjoyment as well as the ability to gain the necessary information out of it. Felt the preassure to get it out and so I did.
The last thing I want to say is that my financials are complete dogshit for this month and I won't be able to pay for my vpn this month. Why does this matter? At tengu simulations no vpn = no videos released.
I unfortunately or fortunately ( depending on how you look at it ) don't live in america yet my target audience are either americans or english speakers. This is confirmed by my channel statistics too. Now because youtube is retarded , if I post from my original location it will mainly recommend the videos to compatriots ( has happened before ). And given that my compatriots are not particularly fluent in English nor do they really care about content such as this , it is a no brainer I keep fixing the system so to speak and upload from an American IP.
So for as long as I can't pay for the vpn I won't upload. That doesn't mean however that I won't work on videos. Quite the opposite actually.
Therefore the channel will take a half a month break give or take and then we will resume operations stronger.
Tutorials keep coming and the 1939/1940 career is drawing to an end. At the same time I've been working on something else too so stay tuned , stay excited , I'll see you when I can.

Sime considerations for realism: the 44kt setting was banned because it ran the engines too hard and would often crack the cast block open, causing a loss of propulsion. Those extra 4 knots took an extra 100hp, for a total of 350hp. So they really only used the 40kt setting. The 30 knot setting is pretty much useless, because who shoots beyond 7500m? Also the vacuum sealed depth keeping mechanism often leaked and the reduced differential pressure made them run deeper than set. The magnetic detonator also sucked. The latter two issues weren't fixed until the end of '42. So for max realism, set them to 1m, impact only, 40 knot setting. This sucks because the C2 & C3 cargos sometimes need 3 or even 4 fish to go down but it is what it is.

If I set them to I meter of depth chances are they will miss. I am played with H.SIe. it has its own depth keeping mechanism explained in more detail in a different video.

@@tengusimulations Oh I see. I have always played vanilla and have found the magnetic detonator extremely frustrating to use because it explodes randomly like 25% of the time. I usually just go for impact and set up a good angle

Hmmm hard to say. Perhaps watching others play may be a good idea. Most of the SH3 UA-camrs are doing hardcore playthroughs. I know however that wolfpack's older videos use contact updates and the map to make things easier. Maybe start from there. Other than that SH3 career is a sandbox really. You do what you want

A bit late here, but never squander an opportunity to practice gathering targeting data. Just started myself, had a juicy british medium freighter pass by me (sadly 8 hours before britain joined in the fun). I did all the estimation, plugged all the data into the tdc. Mathed different shooting distances and angles, and for a first try. Once I checked, I would have nailed it comfortably at 2km out. According to the torpedo speed tables. It was a picture perfect mirror smooth sea. A true shame.
I had an exact cross bow bearing. Knew the targets distance down to the 100th metre. Had its speed by half knot error. Had 3 torpedoes programmed for successive launches incase of duds... it hurt knowing how close I missed such a legal kill.

Are you playing GWX or vanilla ?
