Designed from the get-go to be Honda's solution to your outdoor and active lifestyle, the Passport SUV has been refreshed for 2022 with a big injection of style and personality, or at least Honda claims. That also includes the introduction of this more trail-ready all-new TrailSport trim. But is it all style and no substance? Let's take a look.

Lot of these reviewers woke up on the wrong side of the world geez-- Does not look insanely cool, but not bad- is much better than the Pilot which has a very bland exterior compared to the Passport. Both the front/ back seats are insanely comfortable ( nice & wide). Features resemble the CX-9 with leather, heated/power front seats, power lift gate, wireless charger & even a sunroof which is standard, yet has the better/nicer larger space in between the drivers and passenger seats & has a much more open view than the CX-9. The CX-9 rides more like a car & may be a more aggressive, fun drive. This rides very comfortably.
Agreed.
I own the 2022 Passport Elite and honestly, the inside does feel a bit cheap for the 49k. I had the 2018 CRV EXL and that had wood finish all around and felt much more elegant. It's still packed with very good tech inside and driving performance is great. Overall I am happy with the purchase, just wish the inside was designed a bit better to reflect the price hike.
AGREED...!!!
Socrates. You paid 49k? I'm thinking about getting the Trailsport, but haven't decided.
Excellent and honest review. Even though I wouldn't buy it just for simple reason of economics. Thank you again for your review on this model as am a big fan of Honda.
Instead of talking about styling which we can see and decide for ourselves, why don't reviewers talk about things like how good the sound system is for example?
I agree
Well one reason is that sound and listening is subjective. I doubt most people are basing their purchase decision on the sound system. That's just me though.
I guess the AWD is nice in bad weather, but I think I'd skip the off-roading pretenses and enjoy the smoother quieter ride of regular tires. Ironically my sister has a '19 4Runner in the same color as you've illustrated. She traded in a '17 Pilot Elite for it. The tech appears upgraded though, and the steering wheel looks good.
How did you find the wind and road noise?
I like this SUV .👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Absolutely Very nice.
I fail to see any off road differences between trail sport vs the regular passport ( other than tires and striping)
It's only an "exterior badging" trim. It shares the EXACT same IVTM-4 AWD system that the EX-L & Elite trims have. The one MAJOR difference is the Trailsport rides on 18in wheels and the other trims 20in. And honestly if your going to do any type of "soft" off roading you'd be FAR better off on the 18in tires. Why they put 20in tires on the other two trim model is beyond me. BAD MOVE HONDA...!!! They also need to add the grey leather interior trim for the Trailsport. As i think it would look VERY handsome with the orange stitching and badging for that model. Having only a black interior is just FAR too bland and limiting. I know Honda isn't known for many color choice options. But adding the grey leather option on the Trailsport wouldn't kill there budget at all. And make ALL the wheels 18in PLEASE...!!! Considering ALL of these vehicles share the same AWD system. Add more luxury appointments/features to the Elite trim and spruce up the interior cabin look for this vehicles price point.
39K is the cheapest now. A $5080 price hike since the Sport is gone.
WAY OVERPRICED...!!!
You mention the 2022 Elite has wireless CarPlay. Are you sure about this?
it doesnt even in 2024
Honda needs to do something more premium inside with wood or aluminum trim. Too much black plastic accented by more black plastic. I own an Accord.
I own this vehicle and I like the simple interior design. I've also owned some really expensive high-end cars. It never worked or felt comfortable for me.
Lifted hood to make room for the new V6 3.0Turbo?!?? 😎
The new 3.0-liter dual overhead cam (DOHC) V6 turbo engine will produce 355 hp / 354 lb.-ft.
I am a little disappointed with the passport. It Should have a bigger sunroof or a panoramic roof option option.. The infotainment system is slow it take a while to pick up my iPhone. The navigation is temperamental to say the least. It took me to the wrong address twice in Queens New York and I could not find the restaurant the The Door which is quite famous in queens. The car only have 4 preset for the radio really how much more would cost to get more preset option. All so when you press the call button you can't just say call whoever you get a drop down list to call the last numbers
Those rear lights are a NO for me …I wish they change that design, how long is it going to take for them to get it ?
We need this in India. Don't know why Honda is delaying it unnecessarily
There are talks of Honda wrapping up its shop in India
@@mangeshdhore no way
@@vinaycamay7267 keep emotions aside.. check the facts and number.. see how much cars honda is selling in India and then comment
Compared With Jaguar F Pace P400
That driver arm rest got to go.
The only thing going for this SUV is it's interior space and 6ycl
engine. Otherwise it is EXTREMELY bland looking inside and out. There is
FAR too much "plastic black" cladding all around the outside. In order
to remedy that you would need to spend close to $700 on exterior chrome
trim for the front grille, fog light surrounds, side mirror caps, door
handles, and rear tailgate trim all of which are applied via 3M backing
tape. I know i priced everything out on Ebay. Inside there isn't much
offered either no wood trim or soft touch appeal AT ALL...!!! And were
talking about a $35k and up vehicle that is just RIDICULOUS...!!! You
can get yourself into a slightly larger Ford Explorer used say a 2018
Limited or Platinum trim which are BY FAR nicer inside and out. And
already come with all the wood trim and chrome ascents on them. I'm
sorry but Honda needs to up there game in terms of outside and inside
design appeal. These Passports are a $30k vehicle TOPS...!!! And are WAY
overpriced your paying for that V6 folks don't be fooled. The CRV looks
nicer inside and how can that be when this vehicle is supposed to fill
the "niche" between the CRV and Passport. And a lower model such as the
CRV looks better then the middle of the pack. Kinda ass backwards if you
ask me. And don't tell me it's because they sell more CRV's then
Passports. Because that's a terrible marketing strategy that i've ever
heard of.
Interior plastic looks low budget 😒
Thanks. Not comfortable with price. I prefer Toyota 4Runner.
4Runner over this any day lol
I hate what Honda did to the Passport’s front end. That new grill is hideous. The 2021 front end was so much more elegant. Normally I don’t care much about auto styling either positively or negatively. But this is just awful. I think they were trying to make it more butch and truck-like. Well, they made it look more like a truck, an ugly truck.
At least the front end on the new 2023 CRV is attractive, so some designers at Honda do know what they’re doing.
Boring,. Same bland design from Ridgeline & Pilot, outdated interior design and materials.
it may be bit boring, but it will outlast most of its competiton
Honda does NOT or has ever made a successful SUV. This car, along with the Pilot is just hideous.
