I absolutely love it...!!! I just wish and HOPE that future iterations of this new model. Particularly the EX-L and up trims allow people to choose the grey leather option on the sonic grey pearl exterior color. For right now from what i've researched only being able to choose from 3 color options; dark blue, silver, and white to get the grey interior leather is VERY limiting. And i think the pairing of grey interior leather with the exterior sonic grey pearl color would be stunning. Having just black too choose from is VERY VERY drab for an interior color option. I also think the grey leather would look stunning on the Trailsport with the orange contrast stitching and badging. It's the main reason i would choose an EX-L over a Trailsport as i simply do not like an all black interior. And i'd bet A LOT of folks would agree with me on that. So for 2023 please make these changes Honda...!!! Thank you.
I own 2021 AWD EX-l passport, and I Generally appreciate this car. There isn’t much changes that Honda made that I like, especially raising a price tag for a features that are not there. AWD model must have some clearance shields down there for protection as Honda claiming some “off road” capability’s”. 40k car should also have all LED lights- everywhere! It’s 2022. Power windows would be a much better upgrade rather than a fancy grid that is full of mosquitoes anyways down in the south Florida. Everything else seems to be fine and made for 2 people comfort ride. Overall, one of the best SUV on the market in my opinion.
I own a 2019 EXL and the fact that they don’t have LED high beams or LED interior lights is ridiculous. The nine speed automatic push button is terrible to try and make a quick U-turn it’s very laggy. And then for the 2022 you get rid of the sport so now the only way to get into a new passport you have to pay $5000 more Honda is super greedy. And I don’t know if it’s a front wheel drive thing but I have the all wheel drive and now they’re charging you more and they take away the conversation mirror And claiming that it’s more “off-road capable” by doing cosmetic changes??!?? The only thing they had to do for the refresh was to make the sport available with the touchscreen instead of that old radio. I wanted to get a new one but now I don’t think so
How much did they jack up the price? Glad you're enjoying the passport. Considering getting one just based on the motor and that old school SUV dying breed type vehicle.
I had the 2020 Honda Passport EX-L, which replaced my 2014 CR-V EX-L. Definitely preferred most features of the CR-V over the Passport. Did not care for the push button shifter at all. Also sometimes the push button shifter appeared to slip from selected button. Also it just felt bulky to drive and especially to park. I will point out that I owned a Pilot in the past and was happier with how it handled. I've owned 7 Hondas, so my opinion is that of a long term Honda driver. I sold my 2020 Passport several months ago because I just didn't enjoy driving it and I especially didn't like parking it. If I buy another Honda suv, it will most likely be one of the other options.
@1Traine I went for the Pilot because of the extra lights on the hatch for more rear visibility. Those push button shift controls give me some concern. And if I take out those 3rd row seats, I will have More room for - - - whatever. Do not use them anyway. So far, mine runs, handles and brakes good. I feel secure and in control contending and dealing with the Morons out on those ‘Mean Streets.’
@Rem X They look a Hell of a lot better than those X’d out ones on the Jeep Compass and most, if not All, other brands on the market. Then again I have a Pilot with added lighting on the tailgate. Rear end visibility is as good as it gets out there.
Same here bro, i have 2021 ex-l awd and i love it, I took it to snow today and it really surprised me how well it handles it, yes i wish it has shifter like you said but i’m more than happy
hey I just bought this same trim I just found out it has power folding mirrors but I have been folding my driver's side mirror in manually do you think that ruins anything ? do you ever manually fold your mirrors in ?
@@elbostonian1 I just went & looked at my car & compared it to owners manual I don't have the power folding mirrors neither I think only the Passport Elite has it I have the EXL just picked it up yesterday . Don't know why my owners manual says mine had it . Glad it doesn't though one less thing to break 😊
So Honda redesigned the front end of the Ridgeline to be more truck like so as not to be confused with their SUVs. Then they redesign their SUV to look like the Ridgeline. Wow, that's some very convoluted logic going on there Honda. And if they are eliminating the shifter why put the buttons between the seats? They could put them on the dash like on the '57 Chrysler New Yorker or the '60 Plymouth Valiant if they want to create more space in that area.
Also, Honda needs to offer better options on the EX-L & Elite trims for tire choices. Having just 20in tires with the SUPER awful Continentals is ridiculous. I've read over at the Honda forums that if you want you can go from the OEM 265/45/50 to a 275/45/50 and that will give you a bit more sidewall for blazing non paved trail fire roads etc...And you can still keep your stock OEM rims. But most of all that opens you up too better and more tire choices. Such as an A/T tire like the General Grabber AT3 or the Firestone Destination LE3's. However, hopefully Honda will make these changes themselves so consumers don't have too. It's rather ridiculous of Honda to have a model labeled "Trailsport" but only make it "cosmetically appealing". And really no different then an EX-L or Elite trim. Considering they ALL use the same I-VTM4 AWD system. You can't "off road" Honda on 20in tires. So either use 18in tires for every model Passport. Or pick a different 20in tire size to broaden peoples choices. It's really not that difficult...(g)
I definitely don't like push-buttons for reverse and all that, I'm hoping Honda and others ultimately go back to cars which behave like cars. How 'computer' actually IS this car? My dad has the 2022 CR-V and it's nothing like a 2012 CR-V. Could someone compare 2012-2016 CR-V's vs. Passports in general? I don't like newer cars' aggressive torque takeoffs, it seems like it jerks you around and burns gas for no reason (when they're claiming fuel efficiency...). I want a car which won't 'fight' you to pull you back into lanes, but also stops when a human jumps out in front of the car, but a car which you can fully feel and control, like the old CR-V's. Is the Passport this?
Honda Accord is selling like crazy with a refresh on the horizon, all new CRV and the recent change to Civic line means Honda is focusing on it's bread and butter...agree about thier SUVs although the main attraction of this vehicle is it's old school motor and overall simplicity in it's utility.
It so funny that no one ever drives over a ruff railroad or a ruff dirt road with lots of bumps. Not talking off road but back roads, railroad tracks to see how they handle over ruff roads and what they are like going over these types of roads and bumps. You go to test drive and you get to go around the block.
I test drove one yesterday - it rides nice but they are getting $5K over MSRP so there's no deals to be had! $588/mo for a 36 Month lease with 10K miles honestly is a joke they can keep selling them to people who don't know today's market is overpriced - dealers trying to make up for the lack of inventory - so they expect you to pay! #notme
@Jeff Shapiro. You are absolutely correct, but not all dealerships are selling these over MSRP. For instance, I bought a Trailsport yesterday for 42k (two grand under MSRP) with about a thousand dollars in upgrades. Plus, I got a ridiculous amount of money for my trade in. I called around and as you mentioned, most dealerships were charging 3,000 - 5,000 over MSRP. I had to drive quite a distance to get my vehicle, but I'm happy with my decision.
@@redandblack1911. I have the Trailsport with the wider wheels, but the ride is smooth. The one thing reviewers don't talk about is the difference in the ride across trim levels. For instance, I initially test drove the EX-L AWD with the bigger wheels (20 inch), but could a tell a difference in the ride quality immediately when I switched to the Trailsport. Personally, I prefer the 18 inch wheels because the tires are wider and better for the snow we get in the midwest.
They need to have an option for fake leather like Volkswagen and how do you up the price and take away so many features of the EXL (Fog lights, conversation mirror etc.) Also no LED lights for the interior Honda needs help on the interior. They are super greedy
If they are going for more rugged, at least change the suspension to make it more capable. Also add a front camera and center console arm rest. I have the 2021 Passport and really hate those small ratchet armrests 😑.
Great review of the vehicle🙂. I feel Honda is good for it’s reliability, I like Honda Passport it’s a good size SUV but the company needs to step up in the interior and include more features that is worth the $40K price. That’s just my honest opinion🤔.
And more actual capability off road. If theyre gona claim it can tow and go off road, at least throw some aluminum skids underneath, and include the hitch receiver instead of saying it "can tow" and forcing the customer to pay an extra 1400$ AFTER purchase to be able to utilize it. Absolutely BS for 44k

Congratulations on your purchase!
I just bought this model today. I can't wait to get it tomorrow
Please raise the center console to rest your arm on instead of the arm rest on the seat. That's one of the things I hate about my wife's 2019.
I love the lower console/armrest, personally. There when I want it, gone when I don't. Makes the cabin feel suuuuuper spacious.
Needs soft console arm rest.
House outlet in the rear.
Speakers in the rear.
10 inch information center.
Pass through bottom console..
