    Harry has done a great job in describing what it’s like with a Taycan. I have had a 4S for just over 2 years and 49k miles.
    One comment on Range Mode, you can configure it up to 85mph but if you route a destination in the Porsche Nav and it has enough charge then it bumps the max speed to 90mph, which is handy in California 😂
    As a 70 mph limit requires some headroom. 😎

    I took delivery of my Taycan 4S CT in July and up to now have not found the range to be too much of an issue. My longest trip was from West Wales to Portsmouth and then on to Silverstone and back to W. Wales. The IONITY charge point at Chippenham was the time for a cup of coffee and it was done! The vast majority of my charging is done overnight at home for less than 5p kWh. While I know this is going to change when my contract ends, this still makes the running cost of a car with this performance unbelievable. Harry's review was spot on as expected.

    Thanks Harry for another solid review. About the interior: a lighter colour would probably improve it considerably.
    It has always surprised me that the majority of cars have a black or very dark interior, despite the many disadvantages: Very hot in summer, gloomy in winter, less spacious feel and comes across as a lot less luxurious (to me). Even the one thing that many consider an advantage, that it ages better and doesn’t stain as easily, seems very untrue. My BMW with beige interior is fairly easy to keep clean and still looks fantastic at 135k km, whereas my 911 with 55k km and black interior is a nightmare to keep clean (despite being a dry weather car).

      some traffic, that is closer to 5 hours. For me the sweet spot is 300 miles range. Enough not to ever have to worry about range and capable of charging at higher speeds to that with a 20 minute toilet break and snack/leg stretch ai can be back on the road.

    Let's be honest now Harry, you've been spoilt, lol. Mighty impressive across the field, as you say in winter on appropriate tyres it would be virtually untouchable for ultimate traction. Great styling too in my opinion. PS it would be epic if you could wrestle that Singer 911 from Chris Harris for a drive!

    If I could afford any EV it would be a Taycan as Porsche you know it’s just done right plus the interior is fantastic. I know in a previous life it was his job to review Car but always love these honest test drives. But question was it relaxing to drive, I figure on a long trip it would be more relaxing and less tiring. I’d love to do Glasgow to Duxford and back that I did last year in my MINI 😁 Porsche U.K. just play this clip to anyone thinking about the Taycan in your showroom and you’ll have a sale right there. 👍 Second generation will be next level the way battery tech is improving. These things will get to 400 miles in time real world with lighter packs.
    I’d have gone with the normal Taycan but after the field test I’m sold…probably great on snow. Right Alps for skiing then 😁

    I sat behind a Spowwt Turismo the other day and from behind, as much as I liked flared arches normally, the proportions looked a bit off - like either the roof was too narrow or the arches too wide. It's a minor gripe but I normally think these look awesome and I was surprised I didn't like following one as much. Nice to know the Cross Turismo's gravel setting will work well on a ski resort, though, which is probably where they imagined it would be used.

    It would be great to see one of these or the Audi on a Euro road trip to see how it would go for a weekend trip away. The range is the concern as well as the charging network when traveling in more rural areas.

    Mine arrives at the dealer in the next week, this brilliant video yet again confirms hopefully I made the right choice when I placed the order 11 months ago. It will be interesting to see how the charging network works and also how the performance and general drive compares to the F90 M5 I have just sold (after 3 years and 30,000 miles). That was a great daily - hopefully the 4S will be a great replacement. Oh, mine is going to be a company car, did I mention BIK……..🤔 Currently it’s a no-brainer (you forgot to mention that Harry!). If you can have an electric car as a company vehicle the BIK is so low, it’s almost a free car!

    • @harrysgarage
      @harrysgarage  2 роки тому +4

      BIK makes all EV very attractive as company cars, it's almost as if we're back in the seventies when the last peak company car period occurred and every company director had a Jaguar and the chairman had a Silver Shadow! I didn't mention it because 70% of my viewers are non-UK based and they wouldn't understand what i was talking about.

    • @mogsyman
      @mogsyman 2 роки тому +2

      @@harrysgarage I know, it’s a loophole a that’s totally overlooked currently (but due to change in 2025). For those who live outside the UK, basically if you are fortunate enough to either own a business or have access to a car supplied by a business for work/pleasure, you pay a percentage of tax on the value of the car as a taxable perk. Currently it’s 2% so even as a high rate tax payer it equates to less than £100 per month out of your salary per month to have this machine sitting in your drive. I don’t see a huge increase in the % in 2025+ and they will still be attractive I’m sure. By the way, I didn’t go for non- leather but still managed to add £20,000 in options by the time you add nice lights, better seats and wheels etc. the main issue with these cars currently is the extremely long lead time, mine was just under 12 months, order one now and you’ll be lucky to see one in 18 months, if not 24 months 😳
