For clarification on the first few minutes of the episode, in the manga, Toga face was FUCKED UP, skin coming off and gruesome looking, but the anime censored it and turned it into some mild scrapes... so what Twice said about the plastic surgeon is accurate.
Shigaraki’s dad is probably what Kota would have ended up like if he didn’t meet Deku and kept hating heroes. Also they showed how Nana died in the All Might Rising ova.
Really I need to see that ova
That's true. Also the ova and Season 3 (and the related chapters) each mentioned AFO also killed Kotaro's father too. And while both of his parents didn't die at the same time, he still is like Kota in that one villain killed both parents (Muscular killed both of Kota's parents, AFO killed Kotaro's father and then later his mother).
@@wanna-be-thinker2377 this episode makes me appreciate season 3 alot more at first my thoughts was this was good but there were other seasons that was better. Having the kota connection and how hero's children can feel by not getting love as much as normal kids and how it can affect them mentally.
Shigaraki's quirk has been largely repressed due to his trauma. So there is a mental aspect to quirk use like Twice consciously choosing not to clone him himself due to his trauma. For Shigaraki though it was repressed subconciously for the range of his decay so that why his decay range was bigger as a child when it first activated, so it was repressed when we first meet him in the series. That also explains in the previous episode when he decayed multiple people without touching them as he was getting a few fragments of his childhood memories back.
The Machia training is a part of him getting stronger as well physically, but his memories returning is a big part too mentally. The evolution part in the present time mentioned by Redestro is him not needing all 5 fingers to decay, which is a completely new function.
Compared to the manga: his family and the dog just turn into chunks with blood from the get-go with how his quirk was when first activated, but the anime tried to tone it down a little by having them as dust at first, then shown as chunks with blood after.
i wonder if in the DVD version they will change it a bit at the end and make them turn into chunks of blood once they were touched.
Right on point.
@@FiragaJJC Thank you, I try. lol
@@memeslayer8468 that shit makes no sense. its kinda sick rooting for those out for blood lol. those are the exact same ppl that u "fear" and are behind bars.
Tenkos dad: "THERE WILL BE NO HEROS IN OUR HOUSE! "
Shigaraki: "okay then I'll just become a villian 😃"
Seriously tho this was a beautiful episode
dude really just pulled an uno reverse card on his dad
Manga spoiler
That is awesome because the next time we see shiggy in his vestiges/dreams he says something like that: "don't deny me, this is who i am now" to his family.
Kotaro feels like a grown-up version of what Kota could have been had Deku not stepped in to change his mind.
And because of it, Kotaro became an abusive dad with a "yes-man" family.
An environment like that is a breeding ground for a villain.
It's one thing to have a family that follows the leader, it's another when the leader is going too far and everyone is still ok with it, even if only a little bit.
It's crazy how too little or too much outside of the really small sweet spot that is a family dynamic, can be all it takes to ruin families.
also not too uncommon in japan unfortunately
@@memeslayer8468 yeah
@@memeslayer8468 basically on almost every Asian country lmao
what is too far and isnt is VERY subjective. the line is too thin
Keep in mind that the dad came to see what was happening outside and saw his whole family dead
He was always scratching and had this itch because of his family rejecting who he wanted to be. The itch was him subconsciously wanting to destroy them
He was allergic to their bullshit
Tragic ): Nana only wanted to protect her son and look at the outcome. Great episode though.
It basically the burden of ofa users needs to carry it along like some1 we know
@@oussamalag3253 Difference being Nana had already passed OFA long before she gave Kotaro up.
It's crazy how much her one decision affected the world. She wanted to protect her son's future, but in the end it ruined his life and sent him to an early grave with terror in his eyes while simultaneously creating the most important villain since All For One.
Quite the tragedy
@@willfanofmanyii3751 but she still didn't meet up with for a long time judging by what all might said in all might rising she was a mother to him
@@VegaSlides yeah, the smallest decision you can make for your kid can decide his/her future just like that.
I dont think whether it happened that day or not didn't matter. He said the itching only bothered him at home...so the chances of it being an undiagnosed allergy is slim to zero. It looks kind of like re-destro and his stress. He's always irked when the itching is taking place...it looks like his desire to destroy is a condition for activating his quirk. Ultimately I think the tragedy was bound to happen regardless. It is a shame though because it looked like his mom finally managed to get through to his father.
They censored a few things toga’s face is more bloody, shigaraki lost some fingers during fight and the decay effects from the back story showed blood when they were breaking apart
I love the metaphors and parallels on My hero Academia , your personality , traumas or dreams can either destroy or make you the best version of yourself . The grey area are characters like Stain , Endeavor, Gentle Criminal , Hawks , etc but you can either turn bad from something that happened when you are just a poor kid (Tomura ) or turn into something greater when something bad happens to you like Todoroki or Bruce Wayne if you wanna see it like that also...or just fucking crazy like Muscle or Toga .
Tbf through the process of becoming a villain Tomura became the best version of himself as the best villain
Bruce Wayne and Todoroki turned good cause there were ppl guiding them otw. like Alfred and Deku. Who did Shigaraki have? All For One
I feel bad for the dad because he just started to feel remorse and was just going to start talking things out. Then his entire life’s work, his family, his house, all erased instantly. If we are doing “the punishment fits the crime” endeavor should be having a conversation with god right now
That's what happen sometimes when you have dangerous powers. If shigaraki quirk was a normal one, then this would not have happened.
@@suyash8468 If you think about it, Eri could have turned out like him if Overhaul was nice to her like how all for one was to Shigaraki
@@zemellion26 ehhhh, not really, he could have grown her to be a weapon but monsters are born from cultivated rage, fear and stress accumulated over time
@@zemellion26 that's the basis for the Hulk, and you can't get much more monster than that
@@thomaswellerton3783 what i meant is look at the similarities,
Eri killed her father on accident
Shigaraki killed his family on accident
Eri got taken in by Villains
Shigaraki got taken in by a villain
Eri went through mental torture
Shigaraki went through mental torture
Eri was found by heroes
Shigaraki was never found by heroes.
That is where things changed. All for one treated shigaraki like a person. Heroes treated Eri like a person. If Overhaul took proper care of Eri, she would still be a villain
Nana Shimura reminds me of Freya from God of War, especially when I think of Mimir’s line after Baldur’s death. “She only wanted to spare him pain and spare herself loss, but such impulses can lead good parents to make terribly stupid decisions.”
The more I watch Tenko's backstory the more sad I get, he wanted to be a hero and he wanted a hero in his life. Someone to save him and not give him an excuse.
They did explain how all-mights' master died during the all-might vs all for one battle and expanded upon during a allmight origin OVA. She went to fight all for one knowing she was probably going to die.Sorry if your getting the same explanation a hundred times. Love the videos.
The irony of the root problem being All For One that kiled Kotaro's mother and domino effecting him into being an abusive father and raising a monster that would be taken in and used by All For One himself
AFO killed the father/grandfather too (Season 3 for reference).
Shigaraki looks just like a young Deku when he is crying.
Real siblings don’t snitch on each other
We just get back at each other for shit that we didn’t snitch on each other for
LOL they said they had to rank Shigaraki over Itachi because Itachi left one 🤣 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Also the way they described his itch in here and the manga, I felt like it was half psychological, half his quirk brewing but him not being resistant to it yet, like Shoto being burned by his mom. So I looked at his decay like Super Saiyan during the cell games, always activated to some extent with no effort put in, hence his as a being ashy/itchy even now😂
You need to watch the All Might Rising OVA it's only like 3 minutes long but it has Nana's death in it. Nana abandoned her son because she was attacking All for One and she was afraid of AfO targeting him. She died soon after.
I just want to say, that it's a really weird coincidence that the hero's grandson (I forgot her name) got the "Decay" ability, and just after Shigaraki killed his family All For One found him and knew about his condition. It sounds too good to be true, it's just a coincidence.
I think All For One gave Shigaraki that ability knowing that something like this would happen
Ummm.... for AFO to give someone the ability... he has to touch them. AFO had no prior meeting to Tenko until after this scene.
Shigaraki decay quirk is a mutation quirk (like Eri's quirk) due to Quirk Singularity Doomsday Theory that was mentioned before. It took a while to manifest because the quirk is directly connected to Shiggy's feelings.
@@FiragaJJC just because we didn't saw AFO meet with Shigaraki yet, doesn't mean it didn't happen.
The one who said it is a mutation was the doctor who works for AFO, it would not surprise me if he lied.
If we think about how AFO found Shigaraki so easily, knew exactly what had happened to him (After all, Shigaraki did not tell him, he did not remember because of the trauma) and that re destro said that a quirk affects a person's personality. I can certainly believe that everything is part of AFO's plans. This is of course just my theory, but it sounds right to me
we literally saw Shigaraki’s quirk manifest. so i don’t think afo have him that quirk.
@@thecouncil3580 But he hasn't. AFO time and time again mentions how he met Shigaraki. Shigaraki quirk manifested late... it first came wheb he threw the ball... then it crept up during the slaughter. Also, without spoiling major details, it is easy for the doctor to run DNA test to tell who Shiggy's family are. Or have you totally forgotten Kiroguri.
Bruh, Shigaraki clearly has a mutation quirk like Eri and we just saw him manifest it. Also, can AFO even give quirks? The process isn't as easy, look at the nomus and portal guy, how could AFO mess with Tenko/Child Shigaraki? Nana even hid her family.
If AFO plans all of Tenko's tragedy then that's just bad writing, even more after alredy having prove of not being like that with Nana abandoning Kotaro and hiding him and others.
this episode make everything shigaraki did understandable to certain point, cool reaction as usual
And this is only half of his origin. I just hope the second half gets as much love
No it doesn't
From the meaning of "oh, I see how the monster was made" yes but understandable is a word that can have multiple meaning, you have to specify which
@@thomaswellerton3783 you're being a bell end, there's enough context clues fo us to understand which definition.
understandable BUT NOT justified
Tbh…. With how they been treating this arc compared to the manga, I’m glad that Shigi backstory was told in FULL and UNCUT!!!!!!!
All for one killed nana shimura
Shown in the short OVA - All Might Rising
I’m so happy I never went to sleep 😅
Lol, I didn't even realize about the shoes
The hands on approach to making a villain
"Yo, he's swim-. HE'S LITERALLY BREASTSTROKING THROUGH THE CITY!"
"Michael Phillips."
Me: LMAO
😂
Watching from the sky is probably a commentary on her quirk float
I find it ironic that the dad growing up with no parent support, would have learned the importance of showing support to his children
@@willfanofmanyii3751 so any sons that grew up with no father, cant become good future fathers when they grow up, like what, come on man
unfortunately thats not how it works. A boy needs a good man as reference to grow as a person. Most good men have had awesome dads or mentors.
The real irony is that the man that takes Shigaraki in is the one root to ALL of this, if All for One wasn't a thing, Kotaro wouldn't have grown without his mom because she had to distance herself from him to protect him
@@Exsins this is not how it works at all and he wasnt saying that something like this also can not be applied to everyone because each person has different ways about how they deal with childhood trauma and neglect in this case the father thought what he was doing was the right thing to do because he doesn’t know what a happy family or a supporting father acts or looks like. This doesn’t mean there aren’t amazing dads out there that had to deal with trauma but still ended up as a loving parent. Im not justifying his actions tho im just stating my opinion on this.
The key is “probability”. The dad had no Parent support so his likely hood of being a good parent is reduced. But not impossible.
there is no more way to get you in the road of villains than killing your family
the irony is the Mom hug that he couldn't have at end has been replaced with all for one hug
In regards to Nana's fate, it's been stated several times and was even briefly shown in the All Might OVA that she dies saving him while fighting All for One
Correct. We know
Waiting for this all day 💪🏻
Yup, same here.
bruh I know I didnt just hear you call Michael Phelps Michael Philips hahaha
Nobody blamed the other adults living a lie sacrificing shigarakis happiness for their own
Good Night, Tenko.
*Good Mourning, Tomura.*
I like how they made kid shigaraki look like Deku
The beginning of MVA may have been rough, but hot damn did they killed these last two episodes! Now I'm seriously excited for the next one!
Y'all catching me animation mistake with the shoes is so validating to me as a person who catches details like that.
I think it's been said that the doctor took the ash of the family and molded them into hands.
I know? Thats why we was talking about it…
@@YaBoyRockLee Ok. I was just confirming it if you weren't sure. Lol
@@MrSuperbeast92 we don’t necessarily take the characters words so we were looking for supporting evidence to back up that claim. Since we saw blood and body parts. It supported the claim. We thought Shigaraki reduced people only to ash and they get blown away in the wind. So we didn’t believe the doctor. …: now we do lol
They did show how she died. Its an OVA called allmight rising
Yea. I only watched the seasons. I didn’t see the OvA. Just now heard of it
Some one's leg is about to be******
it's kinda sad to think that Shigaraki wants to be a hero when he was a kid but he ended up being a villain that might have hated back when he's 5 yrs old that dreams to be a hero in the future.
I always feel sad for the little sister and the rest of the family, for me that is a hard scene to watch. Also did you forgot what is it to be a kid? Little brothers snitch most of the time. Dont try to throw blame on her.
But Tenko didn’t snitch tho, Hana took him to his father’s office to see their father’s secret, so clearly she did snitch and decided to shift the blame to her brother to protect her image, from getting further scolding, I get it she didn’t want to get the same dirty treatment that her brother was getting but still like the family as a whole just stood there witnessing all that and expecting Tenko to endure all that, like that’s why I am glad that the mother finally spoke up to her hubby when she did because it was not fair what he did to him just because Kotaro has a thing against heroes.
Just a panic reaction, she dont even knows what she did, tho she just scared the dad too
Kids making a mistake is normal and u think tomura' sis did that on purpose?
This comment is to help this channel in the algorithm.
Oh,the guy who is always in Heatah and Hustla comment section! Nice to see you. This episode was a blast
Even though this is Nana’s fault, I don’t hate her for it
I’m surprised you guys ignored the itching, the only comment y’all had were RockLee saying “the allergies” or something and THATS IT
all cool tho, we don’t watch MyHeroAcademia for complex story telling or complex backstories bruh, we want this ninja Deku to be a Hero
If you’re not hearing much about the itchin you’re not watching full video or it’s cut. We mentioned that a few times between 23 and 24
Nana shimura died in the hands of all for one they showed it on the pv of the movie hero rising if i remembered right. i think she died protecting All might while fighting All for one.
When people try to defend series without deaths saying you don't need deaths for a series to be great. To an extent sure. But some death can also provides so much development & depth to the series & it's characters. Thank god Shigaraki didn't have a Healing Magic Spell lmfao.
Characters ALWAYS die in backstories
5:48 only in anime
Tbf, his sister only said "He wanted to see", not "he was the one that did it". And this MF probably beat both, ngl. That's how I feel. All of this is really interesting to think about, what happens to the family of hero if they are kids and stuff, how do they grow up, etc. Really interesting. Also, in the letter she said she was going to fight a "really bad guy", inferring All for one. Crazy how much shit this guys caused.
She said “Tenko said he wanted to see it”. That was why he got punished.
She literally blamed Tenko, and it was apparent this was the first time it resorted to a smack.
Just a panic feeling, she dont even knows what she did, tho she just scared the dad too
@@willfanofmanyii3751 Yeah, she definitely put it all on him and threw him under the bus. Though I also wouldn't be surprise if he was "smacking" around her too before hand. In the manga, his dad "smacked" him more than once for that, with the first one knocking him to the ground! And while it didn't show any more, both anime and manga seem to indicate, to me anyway, that he didn't stop there. (The manga did have the Mom scream at him to stop when he raised the hand the second time.)
Edit: Upon re-reading that chpt.(235), and re-watching the episode, the Mom later mentioned that what he did was too much, that he "got violent" (manga) and he "raised his hand against them" (anime). That kinda indicates something worse than what we saw in both. He even said he "went too far."
@@wanna-be-thinker2377 Kotaro only slapped Tenko that day, he didn't touch the others. If he did more, Hori would have mentioned it in the character bios in the data book.
Ok.. one that is Nana Shimura, All Might mentor and the 7th OFA user. Yes she died shortly after giving her son away to protect him from AFO. She was preparing for her final battle against AFO, when Gran Turino grabbed All Might away from the battle. This was shown during All Might's past in a short movie clip.
Now here what I said... Nana Shimura inadvertently created Shigaraki. Her decision to give up her son for his protection was the seed planted. Her son, Kotaro, who didn't understand the situation at all and felt his mother abandoned him to protect other people instead of being there for him, grew up without therapy to handle the situation and made a family with that resentment deep rooted in his heart.
That root spreaded to his son Tenko, who wanted to be a hero. Which leads to mental abuse, mistreatment and finally physical abuse... while the wife did nothing but make excuses, her parents just watched and the sister throwing Tenko under the bus. And by the time the family finally put their foot down... it was too late as the seed started to grow.
There's more but that's next week. Now all of this could have been Kota if it wasn't for Deku. Kota could have grown up to be Kotaro, breeding another villian.
To further both Nana's and AFO's responsibility in all of this....
AFO help created OFA. Nana, on top of being a Pro-Hero, accepted OFA. AFO had decided to haunt down users of OFA. Just before Nana gave up Kotaro, AFO also killed his father, causing her to "give him up" out of panic and fear (that AFO would kill him). Nana goes off on a suicide mission (hoping to destroy AFO, but knowing she WILL NOT SURVIVE THE BATTLE), likely, and wrongly, thinking at least after this both Kotaro and Toshinori (All Might) will be safe. She does not tell Kotaro about the existance of either OFA or AFO (person or quirk), and orders both All Might and Gran Torino to never talk to or even come anywhere near Kotaro - she probably told all of them, ever the people she dropped Kotaro off with to never give mention of any of this (including her leaving Kotaro) as it would be too painful and "best forgotten."
You could say all the OFA users up to Nana, almost the either Shimura family and AFO all lead to the creation of Shiggy. But this dampter fire trail all starts with AFO.
Thank you Studio Bones!!!
They killed it this episode!!!
Nana is killed by all for one, I think??
And all might weakened because of the wound??? I'm preeeety sure it's like that 🤔. Too long to remember
i dont blame the dad for hitting him at the end at all......he found his whole family slaughtered, and was also trying to wake the kid out of whatever state he was in at the moment
I give you one better... each family member died they way they treated Tenko.
The dog comforting him
The sister coming to support but then bailed.
The mother went to embrace him but was too late.
The grandparents just watching by doing nothing.
The father hit him as he was begging for help and forgiveness.
They already said that all for one kil nana shimura when all might fought him
Correct. We are talking at the time of the letter. We know she’s dead in the present. Again AT THE TIME OF THE LETTER.
@@YaBoyRockLee ha ok my bad
Why are you hating his dad. Don't you guys sometime use your common sense. His mother literally felt her kid alone forever when he was like 6-7 yrs old, even if it was for saving him from villains ,but she left an 6 years old kid alone in the house with a letter behind , she didn't even talked to him instead just left a letter behind. And it wasn't like she was going on her final battle ,she did it so no one knows she had a kid. She was fighting and living outside as a hero but left her 6 years old son alone in the house and told to leave alone. Therefore his dad didn't wanted his own son to become a hero ,because he didn't wanted his son to go away. Think about it, his dad had to live alone and earn on his own when he was just 6, when he was able to see his mother saving others and being praised by everyone.
If shigaraki’s father wasn’t abusive to his son, then Tomura would have been a different person other than a villain.
If all for one hadn't killed his grandmother none of this would have happened... so... it's kinda also his credit
@@thomaswellerton3783 Yup, both of Shiggy's "Dads" had a hand in messing him up.
AFO killed his grandparents (Kotaro's parents), which help lead to Kotaro being a abusive a-hole.
Kotaro physically beat him (Physical abuse).
Both Kotaro and AFO gaslit him (Mental abuse).
Finally, AFO manipulated him (More mental and psychological abuse).
Edit: Also, Kotaro took out his resentment of the mother out on his son (More mental abuse).
@@wanna-be-thinker2377 what abuse? He was only slapped once by his father, every other times he was just send outside of house into detention. If every father in world would be just 'abusive' like that world would be much better place.
It's all Nana's fault.
@@Jagger1985able Actually, I listed (some of) the abuse Shiggy went though in his life (though I initially missed that Kotaro basically took his frustration out on Tenko - that's mental abuse). Physical abuse isn't the only type of abuse that exist.
Btw nana is dead yes but the frase you talked about of her seing him from the sky is that her quirk is flout (i have no idea if i said it right) so basically she can fly so when she wrote that maybe she was talking maybe her using her quirk
It's spelled Float bro
And yeah, her Quirk is Float but it originally didn't allow her to fly, just float around but One For All when given to someone with a Quirk already would enhance it to previously unseen levels, then allowing her to fly around freely
@@thomaswellerton3783 yea i forgot that is that i talk spanish so yea i would right things wrong

@@Biostar96 Bruh, everyone knows that
Damn, this Shigaraki storytelling and his origins was painful to watch, especially its nature. Out of all of his family members, Shiagaraki's father treated him like shit. I actually felt bad for him since he was so young as child. At least his mother and sister seemed like a decent people.

@@melidacarpen2931 I would 100 percent believe that no cap 🧢
@@melidacarpen2931 even if it wasn't, it is his merit, he created the whole situation by killing his grandmother and in turn making his father grow up like he did
@@melidacarpen2931 that theory basically destroys the character and won't match up with the themes at all
i just can say something about this situation, tenko is a weak boy, like some of the cristal generation right now, they cant stand a little pain or to be grounded, they crumble at the first minimum thing like shigaraki (tenko) did, i dont think the father was wrong or right, he is a father and no one know how to be a father, he just do what he think is right and as you can see, everyone said ok this is going bad lets stop, tenko was not beeing abused nor treated worst as an animal, he was living in a good house, "good" father, loving mother and grandfathers, no one is perfect, sister is like most of sisters are or brothers, snitches haha, but hey he was not starving or has a rapist dad or alcoholic super bad father, for me he had a regular family, a good one in general, he was the weak one, saying this, yea the father has the fault same as the mother, for not noticing his son is weak, mentaly, because of course he has an op quirk, still yea it was their fault not aproaching the situation diferently, not everyone is strong mental and body, like tenko, so what i can say is of course they didnt deserve that, not in a million years, they were good people, and tenko now i understand how weak shigaraki is for me he now is the representation of all the cristal generation, that crumbles at the first bad word or first abuse, yea not everyone is born strong, that doesnt change what tenko did is messed up, you dont kill your familly because your father slaped you, come on ........
