First , I love your show your chemistry is unmatched. I currently have 182.000 AA points and gold status. I'm looking to use those miles to go to Greece next year. This is an awesome loyalty program .
Thank you so much for the kind words! That’s an impressive amount of AA points. Greece sounds like an amazing destination for your trip! We like to use seats.aero to set alerts for our desired dates.
Thank you for featuring American Airlines! I am a huge fan of the AA program, and it's the only airline status I chase every year. Their lounge benefits for elites are unmatched. For Plat Pro & Ex Plats (Oneworld Emerald), we can access first-class lounges even when flying coach internationally. This is particularly useful when flying through LAX and LHR, as those airports have amazing OW lounges, including first-class lounges for Cathay and Qantas.
Thank you for watching! Great points about access to the OW lounges even when flying coach! What a deal! We’re hoping one day they will eventually allow access for OW emerald into the Al Mourjan and Al Safwa lounges in Doha. 😂 Maybe wishful thinking.
Yay, thank you for this comprehensive episode! Your organization of the information and production quality are top notch! I look forward to these videos every week.
Thanks for this episode. I definitely need to get better with using AA points. They are so valuable but Nicole is crazy for the dog food. I booked a flight with AA to go to Japan last year in economy a week before for only 27.5k points in economy. I love their program. Nicole thanks for letting me know about the positioning for free. Wow that is a game changer
Nicole crazy in more ways than one! What a steal to go to Japan for under 30k, even crazier from the East Coast where you are! Thank you for watching, Chew!
Great episode, love AA was upgraded by amazing lounge agent in flagship first lounge from business to 1st class for my family of 4 on a BA award flight. My family was amazed!
Wonderful episode! Really enjoyed the deep dive. Totally forgot about the AA award map until seeing this episode. Super helpful. I didn’t realize how valuable AA miles was until this past year. I was able to book and rebook my mom’s seat for different dates as she was waiting for an issue to resolve at home so I was able to help her rebook for free. Luckily, seats opened up last minute and miles were redeposited quickly.
This is great timing I just started the Instant Status Pass Promotion. I currently use the Aadvantage shopping and Simply Miles to earn points. I have to check out the wine and meal kits Nicole suggested to up my point game. Looking to get started with the dining program also. Another way I earn AA miles is through Fuel Rewards program at Shell gas stations. Love the show keep up the great work guys!!
Another great episode! It would be fantastic to see a United version (if that doesn’t already exist). Side note - I absolutely LOVE the beat and tempo of the closing music and the clip of you all wrapping up and debriefing! You’re a solid team, and the music gets us all excited for the next episode.
Wow, another great video under my belt. I added the aa portal chrome extension and will collect AA going fwd vs Rakuten/Amex, & def keep eye out for dog food, hehe. I also like the award tool for aa and appreciate the mini lesson how to use seat aero. Ok onto the next video.....
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled you found the video useful. Enjoy your journey with the AAdvantage program! See you in the next video!
Wow! Thanks for this episode!! Just saved it to watch again later and many times over. I am new to points and miles but do tend to fly AA more often due to the convenience and availability of flights from my home airport. The tip about the repositioning flight was huge for me! I'm not at a hub, but Dallas is often one of my layover stop options from New Orleans/Baton Rouge airports. SO, they fly there regularly. This may have just saved me lots of headache. Will try to put it to use soon. I'm currently on the hunt for a good SUB to get an AA card.
Hi! Thank you for watching! The Citi Business AA card has a great offer right now with no annual fee in the first year. You can find this card on our website and filter by "Business" and "Citibank". Let us know if you have any problems finding it!
@ thanks but I’m not gonna go down the business card route yet. I was thinking either the Barclays or the Citi personal card. But can I do both for the sign up bonuses? I’m actually trying to get max American miles for a future trip. I didn’t know about Barclays until this video. And don’t know if that’s possible since they are both American co branded cards.
I liked the One World lounge at LAX much more than the AA Flagship lounge. I was very disappointed with the AA Flagship lounge at LAX. There were a lot of food options but the quality wasn't great. There is no bartender at the lounge. Every coffee machine was broken. The views were nice, but for a First-class lounge, you would think it would at least be on par or better than a Polaris lounge, but it is for sure steps below. The One World lounge is dark, but it is also huge and the quality of options for food in there is great. I don't think I've ate more buffet food in a lounge before. Not the best lounge I've ever been to, but I look forward to visiting it again.
Great points! Thank you for sharing. This just reinforces how everyone has their own opinion. It's great to know that if we value food quality, we should definitely consider the One world lounge at LAX!
LOVE LOVE this episode! Kept having to pause to take notes. Learned so much. Please do more deep dives. Doesn't matter what program or hotel. I'm sure to learn something new. 💙 Nicole: P2, where all vacation dreams die. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow, this is a comprehensive AA guide, thank you. Would you be able to do something similar for other programs starting with Alaska Airlines. The other request I will make is the product types as in what airlines have what planes as we look for sweet spot deals and enjoy their luxury or even main cabin products ... amongst other factors. Thanks
@@LetsGetToThePoints I think ya'll did a fantastic job on covering everything. The AAdvantage Hotels is something I just learned about. Question - with Gold status or higher I see the crazy amounts of miles you can earn at certain properties. Do those miles count towards loyalty as well? Hands down AAdvantage is the best mileage program! Can't beat the flexibility, award availability, and price (free flights baby). Question: At 25:35, how do you determine the flight is eligible to be added as a segment prior to calling in? From my experience at least, I've found that if the individual segment is priced under 15K, I'm able to tack it onto an international award. Meaning, it's generally regarded as "T" saver space at that point. I'm curious to hear your experience with this.
The best way I have found to see if a segment is available to be added for free is to use the Alaska Airlines website to see if the segment is available there. Usually if the segment is available on Alaska’s website, you can add it to your itinerary for free
I loved Nicole's tips about ordering meal kits. About that, can one create different meal kit accounts for different family members and get the miles into one AA aacount?

GREAT episode ❗️I have one question for you guys: I got sign on bonus from the Citi AAdvantage Business card back in April 2024. Can I now apply for the personal Citi AAvantage Platinum Card and still get the sign on bonus? Citi’s rule is kinda vague here. Thanks!
You should be good to go! To our knowledge, there is no family language with the Citi AA cards. You'll just need to be aware of the 48 month rule for the same card.

@@LetsGetToThePoints I don’t necessarily like either. My family and I are hot bodies and most Asian carriers that we have flown (ANA, JAL, China, Vietnam, etc.) are hot planes during flight. Idk if Asia believes in A/C but we cringe anytime we have to fly an Asian carrier for longer than 3 hours. At least that’s how it feels in Economy; maybe different in business or first class.
