Thanks for this review/install guide. I just ordered this very unit based on all the positive reviews about how quiet it is. It is to arrive the 4th of July weekend next week. So this has been very helpful instilling me with confidence for the upcoming installation of the unit into my bedroom window. Just put one of the 8K BTU units into our bedroom, in North Texas. 100 degrees outside yesterday, 68 inside the bedroom, and it's SUPER QUIET!

I drilled a small weep hole in back bottom corner of unit to drain condensate that collects in bottom of condenser unit. I've had it installed for 7 months and it is amazing! I bought a 12000 BTU refurbished unit from Amazon for $268.00!!
Good day! Thank you for the Pro Tip. I would be interested in doing the same thing as you mentioned. Unfortunately, the holes on the bottom of the unit drain the condensate onto the mounting bracket, then down the wall. Can you please describe how and where you drilled? Thank you in advance!!
@@jeffcunha9114 Underneath the radiator in the left corner. Be sure NOT to drill into the copper lines or Radiator! Also, make sure your mounting bracket is slightly lower towards the Radiator, rear of the unit (~ 1/2 level bubble) to keep the condensate from draining towards your house.

@jeffcunha9114 That's funny because on my unit that I bought yesterday has a sticker on the side saying that the drain plug muat be in place for proper function
@@juniorcarmona323 Thank you for the observation. I don't recall mine having a drain plug. There is just a hole that drains onto the bracket. Does yours have a rubber or plastic plug?
I love mine it runs 24 hours a day on solar power I have 8 panels and 3 server rack batteries with a inverter charge controller 5000 watts and my unit cools my living room dining room and kitchen about 650 sq. ft. Its more efficient than my 5000 BTU GE unit and cools twice as much.

Good day! Yes, it will work, but you will have to do some DIY because the maximum window opening is 36". Yes, it plugs into a standard 120v outlet!! Simple!

Of course make sure the bracket is not level. Needs to be angled slightly down towards grass

I bought mine yesterday, I love it. But the water leakage is coming in my apartment. What am I doing wrong. Shouldn't the water be dripping from outside?
Good day to you. You need to lower the outside portion of the unit. Try lowering it down so that it slopes slightly to the outside. 👍😊
@jeffcunha9114 Good morning. Tks for the reply. My water drainage is on the inside on the side next to the face of the AC. I had it from Thursday this week and had to empty the hug pot of water 3 times already.

hello, i have the same midea but mine after a few months stopped working. like the fan mode works right but when i change the mode to cool it starts to start the motor then boom the motor stops and it shows error code "EC 07" please help!
@@_jhxn Good day to you! Do you have an electric tester to confirm 120v at the outlet under load?
@@jeffcunha9114 i do not have a electric tester but the ac unit was working perfectly fine for a couple months then when i put it on cool mode the motor in the back starts to vibrate for couple seconds pushes out cool air then it stops working
@@_jhxn It is a tool to measure voltage. When you turn on the unit, do you hear and feel the exhaust fan running outside?
@@jeffcunha9114 yes! the fan runs perfectly in fan mode, BUT as soon as i turn the cool mode on the motor for the cooling turns on for a few seconds, throws cool air then it turns off and error code EC 07 displays
@@_jhxn There are two fan motors, one on the inside and one on the outside. Is the Outside fan blowing? If not, it will throw the EC07 code.

Good day to you. This is a great point. We have several horizontal sliding windows too. I have seen some super ugly horizontal slide installations, but normally these type of units are for vertical hung windows. Have you considered a DIY mini split?

@@jeffcunha9114 Failure is the first step to success. If your goal is to make how to videos then show how to do it. Your presentation was well done, had good oration and good camera presence. Your content was lacking due to the omission of how to do something. Basically, when doing a how to video, show the average Joe step by step how to do it and explain what's happening as you go.
