I loved watching the face of the person whose number is being guessed - all the little expressions were really funny! And Monique just hid at 27:22 🤣
LOL I was so worried!
It's all about the eyebrow 😂
Your channel is quickly becoming my favorite play through channel. Great quality, great personalities, and great reviews!
Aw thank you so much!
I was so happy when I found this channel - I now recommend it to anyone who is a board gamer already, or getting into the hobby. Great work as always!
Watching Monique’s eyes bug out cracked me up. Holding my breath along with her!
Haha the fear!
leaving a comment just to support this series, best board game series on youtube.
Love your channel! The games that you guys showcase are always so interesting. Also love that Mike is fitting in so well in the playthrough!
I'm so glad to see you feature this game! I continues to be my go-to deduction game, especially when traveling.
Anne!! Thanks again for bringing this game into our lives!
Yeah, this game will be insta-buy for me. I love small boxes that contain big games. Lovely playthrough guys. Big, BIG love
This is one of my favourite and most played games, and I'm delighted it's become available again. For anyone watching who may be concerned it's not so good at 2p, almost all my plays of this have been at two players and the game's been consistently excellent. I agree it's a shame to lose the dialogue when working out possible solutions, but the tension and post-play analysis is just as engaging.
I think you all did a superb job of showcasing the game there - particularly getting across that where you choose *not* to place a tile can give more information than where you do. Keep up the good work 😀
plus if you "think out loud" in a 2p game you still get to hear the other person's reasoning, which is almost as much fun as a dialogue between more.
Good job, well played!
Yay more Michael!
Buying this one!
Loved the tabletalk. Just the right balance between not giving anything away but also thinking aloud.
It gave me a very similar vibe to Hanabi, when I played a few years ago, although I think this one is less popular for not particular reason.
28:40 You couldn't use that, since you just used a power this turn and by rule "Only one faded power may be used per turn". 🙂
Oh no! You are 100% correct. I totally missed that rule and it is bold in the rulebooks, boo. I guess Monique and Naveen will have to invite me back over.
@@TheSecondSeven 😅 I hear "rematch"!! 😜
There is a rule that says "Only one faded power can be used per turn." That means what you did on this turn 27:27 to play both powers wouldn't work.
35:14 Unfortunately that additional deck of cards and that card to play a different mode are not present in the retail version (which I just got yesterday)... Now you made me jealous! 😬🤪
Love this game. Just wish it wasn’t so hard to get in Belgium. Especially the promo cards or expansion seem impossible to find here…
Great video as always - and it's always nice to see Michael join - this one is SO not for me though. I still get cold sweats when hearing the word "math. 😅
Amazing video as always 💫, I was wondering if you planning to do Northgard uncharted lands ? Thx you are amazing guys 🙏
#MOREMICHAEL YAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
That was a cool change of pace :) 3 player shorter game. Easily could have played 2 playthroughs in a row. Loved it
Thank you!
Is Michael the very old friend you have who keeps introducing lots of those games in the past? I love him being here already 🤗. Hope you could have him more in the future with deduction games, say Search for Planet X or probably The Alchemists' expansion, The King's Golem! Love this video. ❤❤❤
I am pretty sure that is a different friend. Monique and Naveen are usually the ones who expose me to new games.
@@TheSecondSeven oh was that the case? Either way it's fun having you there with them, looking forward for you more in their future videos!
Just got this game to try it out. Had a rules question using the faded twice power at 18:17. Do you get a doom point for the wrong first guess? Or is it just a free extra guess?
Found out it's in the FAQ of the rule book. No penalty for the Twice power "free" guess.
Still excited to play the game, but I can't tell from the edits how long you were thinking about what token to place where (or how long you decided before guessing). Hoping my group is as fast (or at least fast enough that it's not painful. :D )
Love the show.
Love this game. My problem is that I always have too much faith in my teammates. "If he had this number he could have played here instead, and it would have been a better play for all these reasons" only works if the other person also thought that hard about it
LOL yeah that's definitely one of the challenges!
I really enjoyed this video, I'd LOVE to play this game, I love that kind of deduction and a bit of maths, but annoyingly they don't sell it in Europe at all! :( Does anyone have any other suggestions for similar games?
Not really any math involved but 2-3 player Hanabi hits the same chord for me. At the higher difficulties, it is less straight deduction and more leaps of faith if someone understood the clue the way you wanted it to be interpreted, but has an great payoff when you are successful.
Damn it, I bought it after looking the video (btw great one). Didn't have that type of game.

I like the idea of deduction games, but I am terrible at them because I will believe anything anyone tells me, and am a rotten liar. But, I love this game. It's so quick and everyone arguing about the clues is a blast. Fun playthrough, and I hope we see more of Michael in the future.
Social deduction is a different beast. This is pure deduction, no lying involved
This looks like fun, I really enjoy Hanabi with the family but alas it looks like Arcana is not available in Australia at the moment
Ahhh Hanabi! Feels like a classic now. Hopefully Arcana will become available near you
Unfortunately there is absolutely no presence in the UK/Europe. 🤦♀️
This game is very similar to Paint the Roses. I wonder if anything inspired each other in the design.
Paint the roses is a blast and even more of a deduction/mind reading puzzle: Are they playing this tile to give me the best info of guessing their own or are they playing the tile to give a little info but also figure out someone else's card.
