@ChickasaurusGL ^[continued] The timing here in sending out a Pokemon is such that the game's only (or most) valid response is to act as if the opponent's Pokemon has fainted, and is sending out a new one. This then allows the possibility of 2 Pokemon both being sent out, which is resolved by the game in such a way that you are able to send out 'nothing.'
it's an integer overflow it's what happems when the number is over the amount of alloted digits e.x. in the pomeg glitch, you can have up to 65535HP but anything over 999HP is rendered as gibberish
@ChickasaurusGL Yes, I've been meaning to talk to you about the type issue. I was toying around with the idea of a Pokemon Transforming into a YOP, and when I did on several occasions, I got the messages "Ditto Transformed into Gengar!" or "Ditto Transformed into Azurill!" These both solve the problem I had when I found that the Pokemon was not ALWAYS Ghost/Poison, as for some reason, it can sometimes be Azurill; a Normal type. The Abilities of the 2 are Levitate and Huge Power respectively.
@ChickasaurusGL I'm pretty sure the game realizes the possiblity of 2 Pokemon being sent out simultaneously (which never happens normally except here, i.e. the first, and then the second, optional switch) then gets rid of the first Pokemon being sent out, then the game is counting on you choosing a Pokemon to resolve the situation. Problem is, you don't end up choosing one, and the game sends out 'nothing.'
@ChickasaurusGL I don't think it has anything to do with double battles (or maybe it is, we should check whether this works in Gen I/II) but the issue here, I believe, is timing. In a double battle, if you were to faint both Pokemon, through Explosion etc, the game would know in that instance to make you send out a Pokemon (and only once).
It's funny that these glitches are not discovered until way after the game came out, like the Mew glitch, which I heard today wasn't discovered till 2003! That is 2 generations later!
Mustapha Krimou because the game always checks the health of Pokémon in the overworld, as long as you glitch the game into thinking your Pokemon are not fainted, you can enter a battle with just fainted Pokémon and because you revive the Pokemon the game doesn't expect, the game uses data for your Pokemon from the opponents party data
Jeez, was GBA sound emulation really still that bad back in 2010? The echo and the weird stuttering at the start of the video, ouch, my poor ears. xD (That said, I still found the video very interesting, and nobody can really be held responsible for terrible quality in some form or another on a video made 7+ years ago, haha. Especially if it was the emulator's fault at the time)
All games using GBA sounds really bad until 2006's MOTHER 3/EarthBound Advance. It is the only game which utilizes the best potential of GBA soundchip.
Behold the mighty power of Shiny Egg.

That's interesting that the previous Pokemon's sprite is still left behind when you switch.
"check out this weird orange wurmple pile!"
"yes please knock it out. thank you i appreciate that"
Where did you even get that from? I remember it was from a video, but don't remember which one.

Now I'm wondering what would happen if this occurred in a link battle with both players having two Pokemon with 0 HP.
All link battles always begin with both teams fully healed. Also, neither player would be able to Revive their Pokemon during the battle, either.
@ChickasaurusGL

How did you get both Pokemon to faint in Fire Red/Leaf Green?
Pikablu confirmed?
this is just madness. and this is really confusing. i don't get it. can some one please transalate science to english. i really don't understand

@ChickasaurusGL What would happen if you attempted this scenario in a wild battle?
@Yoshisuperstar123
The game would not ask you if you would like to switch, and the Pokemon you choose will be sent out as normal.
3:30 "Fuck this shit I'm out!"
@ChickasuarusGL
The laggy noises are kinda irritating.

While emulation might have not been good in 2010 it was more likely frame drops and fast forwards causing the sound to stutter.
BoEAN is hilarious.
Does sending an egg in battle execute a code that ends the battle? (like when you have no pokemon in crystal and you instant win)
Inside the egg was Exodia.
And don't forget that you can mess around with the Emerald form by throwing Poké Balls.
Stealing pokemon from trainers 101 You just stole a poochyana
@ChickasaurusGL
I just noticed something, do you think it could be possible that different glitch Pokemon are sent out in FireRed and in LeafGreen?
