They make too many comic book titles these days. And also there is too much supply. Occasionally there will be a modern book that gets expensive. But in general most will be case cost
Great video Dave, one that I've been waiting for! 3 issues shy of a complete run, just need ASM #1 and the first 2 annuals. Alwaya looking and your a big help in gauging what it will cost, thanks!
Just one thing about Amazing Fantasy 15... I've seen/heard Stan Lee's retelling about how Spider-Man was a throwaway story in AF15 and then he was so popular that he got his own title. Not exactly and seems he was glamming things up. On the cover of AF15 they print about the "New Amazing!" and then inside they say look for Spidey in the next issue of AF, and then there's a whole page where they explain that they were changing the format and Spidey would be published monthly, have two stories or one big story rather than 5 smaller ones, and lose the extra summary page and "Adult" from the title. I mean they did rename it to Amazing Spider-Man but they were already making plans before it was printed, and I'd also heard that sometimes getting the numbers back wasn't a fast process.
Amazing! you are proably one of the very few youtubers that can do a video like this and actually showing the books...jus crazy Great format, would be great for other characters too, batman next? :D
Awesome video! As a Spiderman collector, you hit the nail on which are the major keys. I recently bought a CGC 8.5 of Amazing Spider-Man #252. I paid market value for it and happy to add my first big spiderman key to the collection
Awesome selection man... And what's even better... Is that you actually had the books beside you to show... Not just in a photo or something... Your AF 15, Asm 5..and Asm 1 are awesome!!! Super jealous of that AF
Thanks for putting that together Dave .. very informative for new collectors and entertaining. I would just add #28 first Molten Man - not getting much attention these days. But that black cover is arguably the toughest to get in grade when you consider how popular Spider Man was at the time and how many people read that book. Anyway Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Amazing list!!! Thank you for sharing your Spider-Man collection. Very informative. You could do the same type of format with other characters in the future. Keep up the great work!! 😎
Gotta love Spidey. Proud to say that I have many of these because ASM has always been a high priority for me and I've been collecting for 35 years. Thankfully I snagged quite a few of mine before prices started to skyrocket. 1st Green Goblin is my white whale..one day I will get it ! Great summary Dave. Thanks once again !
Going from memory alone im pretty sure that AMS numbers 298 and 299 have Venim cameo appearances making them actually the first appearance of Venom and i believe again from memory that 298 is the first Todd McFarlane issue, making it the real unsung key
I have about a quarter of these keys in my collection. Unfortunately mostly the b tier!!. I do have a 1.8 asm 50 very pleased to own it, a 9.0 asm 300, and raw copies of 1st prowler, rhino, and shocker. Would love any single digit and ofcourse an af 15. Live in UK so collecting opportunities not as plentiful as in USA. Keep the videos coming, some channels are informative, some are entertaining, yours are both...
Hey Dave, have a great Thanksgiving. Of course you know about the amazing sale this week at Heritage auction of amazing fantasy 15. 5.0 for $70,000. Well I told you a few times I was offered $100,000 for my 6.0 last month in New York because it presents much better than the grade. It looks like a possible.7.0. Well have a great holiday anyway I’m never selling my.6.0
Hey Dave, the almighty from another planet with great powers…..a CGC 4.0 universal blue label, say with a small piece of tape on cover as noted on the label………..reduces value or no big deal?
*_I wonder how many times you took off your shirt and put that one on, as it's impossible you had all these books in at the same time for this video, hehe._*
I completed my run in 5 months about two months ago ASM#5 not a key ASM#78 not a must have at all and I have it. You missed ASM#37 the 4th appearance minor key the ASM annual #1 first sinister6 is a major key. Now I have to do two videos one of just the Spider-Man collection I acquired in record time as well as his true Key Books
Thanks Dave. I am mostly picking up Spider-Man keys right now. I picked up Spider-Man annual 1 in 5.5 CGC white pages. Hopefully can get a bigger key in Jan 💪
No its not. Here is a heritage auction sale a few days ago for $492 for a 4.0 comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/superhero/the-amazing-spider-man-15-marvel-1964-cgc-vg-40-off-white-pages/a/122345-11415.s
Not real? You mean sleep with it with the 9.8 grade on it? So yes it’s not like that. Anybody can BUY it (not free) the 1st ever digital license comics by Marvel only on VEVE.
Physical & Digital is incomparable sorry, it’s just different way of having it? Love it or hate it? I don’t give.. But I do collect both physical and now digital
First: I’m new to this YT Channel. No offense is meant below towards CBI. It is just an observation I noticed while watching this episode. PSA: At TS- 0:55 In this video, unless there is a glitch - it looks like there is a blob of white or silver Ink on the front cover, lower right quadrant of the CGC SS ASM # 300. Please, tell me that is not “Todd McFarlane’s” Signature. CGC will never convince me that any creator’s extremely smeared Signature, should be considered a Witnessed Yellow Label. Smeared Signatures allowed to pass through CGC’s Signature Program, in my opinion, is a mistake and a rip off. Why CGC would not ask TM to re-sign it somewhere else on that cover, is beyond me. I for one would never buy it, as a CGC SS slabbed comic book. I’m sure other collectors would-just not for me. If what I saw is not a glitch in the videography, then that ‘smeared Signature’ is one massive misstep and let down by CGC. - Thank you.
Noob collection. You dont even know where to put the untold tales of Spiderman in the collection. You dont know much about spiderman, the black suit originated in secret wars, so you got that wrong. If you read the book you think is the first black suit before secret wars you will be reading the saga backwards. You want to read it forwards, not backwards.
Spider-Man is the gold standard and blue chip of comic books. Can't go wrong with these picks. Very good video.
Yeah, you can.
You can miss out on life by going in the wrong direction after listening to total strangers.
Another solid video Dave. No need to wonder why ASM is one of the most collected series ever. My #3 in a 6.5 is one of the most prized in my pc.
Nice bro! Congratulations! My issue 3 is a 6.0! Great book!
@@darrenmorin3084 thanks! Love Doc Ock!
Great video. Happy to have a complete run from 3 and up of ASM.
What does it say about the comic industry in general and Spiderman in particular that the last major key in Marvel's flagship title was 30 years ago?
They make too many comic book titles these days. And also there is too much supply. Occasionally there will be a modern book that gets expensive. But in general most will be case cost
Love it. Batman/Detective Comics or X-men would be appreciated in this format
Great video Dave, one that I've been waiting for! 3 issues shy of a complete run, just need ASM #1 and the first 2 annuals. Alwaya looking and your a big help in gauging what it will cost, thanks!
Solid video. Glad i have a few in my collection. Surprised MJ 1st app isnt mentioned.

Yes, you're right about that.
I'm surprised that you didn't mention Daredevil 16 the first time John Romita ever drew Spider-Man. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing! you are proably one of the very few youtubers that can do a video like this and actually showing the books...jus crazy
Great format, would be great for other characters too, batman next? :D

#252. I paid market value for it and happy to add my first big spiderman key to the collection
Amazing video Dave! Some awesome blue chip keys there. ASM does the best at attempting to hold its value. Really enjoyed this video
Great video! Started to collect some cgc comics recently and I have always loved spiderman. Those are definitely on my to-own list !
Awesome selection man... And what's even better... Is that you actually had the books beside you to show... Not just in a photo or something... Your AF 15, Asm 5..and Asm 1 are awesome!!! Super jealous of that AF

In your opinion what’s a better investment? ASM #1 or X-men 1?
Asm 1. But they are about the same to be honest
Awesome. Can you do this for the X men and Avengers?
Love all the Spiderman covers.
Hey Tiger you hit the jackpot- what about Mary Jane’s first appearance!! Otherwise an awesome video. Thanks!
She was in there. Spider man 15 is her first app in name.
Amazing list!!! Thank you for sharing your Spider-Man collection. Very informative. You could do the same type of format with other characters in the future. Keep up the great work!! 😎

Great summary Dave. Thanks once again !
Great video. Just picked up ASM 43 in a 7.5 and ASM 50 in an 8.0
Nice!!
Great video! Thanks! Would love more of these! ❤️
this was a really good video hope you do more!
all the bigs for both dc and marvel
Awesome video!
How did you miss #33?!
Classic Ditko cover and Spidey's baptism of fire.
I would also suggest that #40 and #27 first Molten Man are keys.
ASM 33 could be added for the storyline and cover art.
It should absolutely be added!
Wow dude!! I absolutely love this video. Thanks for guide
Glad you enjoyed it!
Going from memory alone im pretty sure that AMS numbers 298 and 299 have Venim cameo appearances making them actually the first appearance of Venom and i believe again from memory that 298 is the first Todd McFarlane issue, making it the real unsung key
This was an AWESOME video! Think it be possible for you to do one like this of Wolverine keys? Thanks and keep up the great content👍
I have about a quarter of these keys in my collection. Unfortunately mostly the b tier!!. Happy Thanksgiving dude!
lol your price bump for sigs is hilarious...
Love the list!
Great video! Do Fantastic Four or Batman next! I'd rather see you do more videos like this than any of your movie review rants
These videos take vastly longer to produce then the rants. But I try to do alittle of each
A signed first appearance of hobgoblin with signatures is $300 less than an unsigned??
Great video... working on the ASM run... at the $$ books now. What is a good site to find out prices for raw books?
Thanks
Great vid!!!!
I want to start collecting these for fun, just get really any grade i can for the silver age?
Amazing video Dave, no pun intended. Great content 👌
Glad you enjoyed it!

👋🏽🦊 . . . GREAT List of Key Books
List was solid. Kind of missed the rant though.
Can you do this for Uncanny x-men? Please
Cool video! I have all of those down to 121
Yes, I did like that list.
Hey Dave, the almighty from another planet with great powers…..a CGC 4.0 universal blue label, say with a small piece of tape on cover as noted on the label………..reduces value or no big deal?
It will still sell for the same price as other 4.0s
I am 50 books away man to the complete run help your man out 😮😮
That’s actually super impressive!
I loved your list. thanks Dave. Any idea on when I might receive money from the auction?
Subbed!!
Is ASM 252 9.8 Newsstand a good investment?
Yes
Are 9.8 s out there for all those books?? Wow
*_I wonder how many times you took off your shirt and put that one on, as it's impossible you had all these books in at the same time for this video, hehe._*

good book :)
Same man ASM is down so nows the time to buy especially things like 6 which is being priced like 5 which I view as a filler issue
Awesome vid it lets me know just how much my asm run is gonna cost me (seriously why could i not just like ghost rider or something)
hahah I know how you feel
Show off! Lol na love the SS books cheers
Are you going to make another less than 100 dollars comics to invest
yes I do want to
I’m missing 1 of those books.
Spider-Man = $$$$$$
So if Batman has the Joker, who is Spider-Man's "joker"? Green goblin? Venom?? It's a rough1, but does need2 be asked...
Green Goblin or Doc Oc
Green Goblin is slightly over Doctor Octopus.
Asm 124. 1st manwolf.
Cool vid. You should do this for X-Men.
That's the plan!
Putting in the 9.8 values in is pretty silly.
Shoot I was you could buy an ASM #15 4.0 for $500/$600 it's more like $800+
No its not. Here is a heritage auction sale a few days ago for $492 for a 4.0 comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/superhero/the-amazing-spider-man-15-marvel-1964-cgc-vg-40-off-white-pages/a/122345-11415.s
@@ComicBookInvestmentsOn Veve bro. 😂😂😂
Most of this comics I had it on VEVE.. love it! I can read it whenever and wherever I want.. sweet!
Except they're not real and anybody can get FREE digital copies of every Marvel comic ever made.

No, all Marvel comics are available for FREE in digital form.@@joelmiradora4256
You got some big dog spidey books!
You are very conservative on your prices of your books.
Yea I’ll just stick to marvel tales, I can’t afford ASM prices.

- Thank you.
Dave,I would say you was spot on with the major keys and the only one that should have been added is Ultimate Fallout#4.
Ultimate Fallout #4 is not a part of the Amazing Spider-Man run and it is also not a major key.
Noob collection. You dont even know where to put the untold tales of Spiderman in the collection. You dont know much about spiderman, the black suit originated in secret wars, so you got that wrong. First black suit is asm 252. It came out a few weeks before marvel team up 141. Marve secret wars 8 came out nearly 6mo later
Hulk 300 pre dates secret wars 8 for a black suit cover! Hah.
Awesome video!
