I was anti paraffin for many reasons, with the biggest being clean up and black smoke. Soy, gave me rough tops and hollow centers. I liked the coconut soy, but it burned more quickly that others. Kidding aside, I finally found a blend I love. The coconut soy I loved for smooth tops and even burns. Added to that a bit of paraffin with palm and other plant based additives, gave the wax a superior performance. Additives weren’t much, but it’s the right amount.

😂 this was great. I love when you do the characters it’s been a while lol my favorite wax to work with is the problend 600.
I need to take your advice you had said not to concentrate so much on one wax, and for one of my candle lines I use just the problend 600 and last month my vendor was completely sold out for like a month since I had not bought extra wax, I was completely out, so now I am also looking to experiment with other waxes just in case this happens again

Funny how you post this today! I went to a market with my family today and literally had a jousting session over Soy 464 and IGI6006 Parasoy. At the end of the day, your wax didn't come off of a tree. It had to be processed, made and still soots. Boy do I tell you he made a face. And in that moment, he lost a customer and a potential follower. Which is fine. His candles smelled like $32 paper anyway. Can't believe he got into it with me over freaking wax!

Ha, this comment popped up after you commented on mine, funny. Anyways, sounds like your experience is similar to what I have heard and seen in the past. "Our candles will never soot." Yes, yes they very well can. The only sootless candle, is a candle in a candle warmer, no flame no soot.
Have to admit, the "pure soy" crowd has good PR.

This was so cute and funny🤣. I feel like some of the characters you portrayed when deciding which wax I'll work with today. Started predominantly with Soys (464, 444, 415) but hate the wait time for curing so mix a Majority Soy with a Little Paraffin & like quick turnaround time. However I've tried the ProBlend 600 & like it too. Now I'm going to venture testing CocoSoy & a few others next. Who knows I just may blend them all before it's over with 😂😂 and come up with the perfect candle. You see what I mean by feeling like some of the characters you portrayed with the war of my waxes🤣. And don't even get me started on the war of my wicks because we ALL know that's a battle too.

@@BlackTieBarn I do seem to have the best luck with premier wicks though. Just narrowing down to the one that burns slow enough is an issue at times on my 3 wick candles, so I might need to go up in size and use 2 wicks instead.

I'm liking IGI 6006. One thing I'm learning about it though is it's very tricky. I can't tell you how many of your videos of watched that you have stated "pay attention to the cooling process." Right now, that has been the bane of my existence. The foil wrap seems to work well, however I did have a couple candles I attempted with that method that still ended up with sinkholes. I'm getting off point, haha. So far I like 6006, there's just a learning process to it.
Yah but don't stress. Its common and not every candle will come out prefect

If I have made a candle and realize the wick is too big, can I put the candle in a double boiler and melt the candle down and then pour it again into a jar with a smaller wick? Or would that ruin the candle and fragrance oil?
you can certainly do that for testing purposes.

Definitely common!
Personally, I like a mix of soy/para, I have had too many reactions with "100% soy" candles. But, I could be biased, the other ingredients added are usually never labeled and they could have caused the issues.
I get alot of ppl who say that they're allergic to soy. I use parasoy.
@@toyamichelle I don't know if it is the soy itself, how it was derived, or what they add to bind and stabilize, but several big-box stores "100%" really do a number on me. I mean, who knows fully what they add when they can sell an 8oz for 4 bucks.
So it kinda soiled the whole "Soy ONLY!!!!" movement for me, well, that and how many makers put down others who use blends/para, but that is a whole other video BtB has done.
