I get to Quebec City a couple times a month and the Green is available at the SAQ more often than at the LCBO. Yellow is never available at the LCBO, but once in a blue moon I pick up a couple bottles from the SAQ. If you are interested I'll keep you in mind next time I head out to Qc.
Thanks Glen! I very much appreciate that! I’m actually quite stocked with yellow at the moment! I picked up a bottle in Quebec a few years ago and I also managed to get a special edition yellow from lcbo a while back! I also have a bottle of Licor Strega (ordered from LCBO) … if you haven’t tried it, it is remarkably similar to yellow chartreuse!
@@RobsHomeBar Interesting take, I actually find that Strega is very different than Yellow Chartreuse. They're both herbaceous and can substitute each other but they're different drinks. Similar to if you made a Paper Plane with Nonino vs Montenegro. The Montenegro can replace Nonino and it will taste good, but I would not say they're similar tasting at all. Regardless, great channel, good to see someone also from Ontario. We're limited to what we can get sometimes so it's good to know that things you make I can also make without worrying about if the ingredient can only be purchased in the US or the west coast. Cheers.
@@RobsHomeBarBSW Liquor has Chartreuse! Just have to order a few things to make the shipping costs worth it but I’ve had great experiences with them so far for allocated bourbons etc
Love seeing the market continue to open up for this Chartreuse substitutes. Glad you made a cocktail with it. Smith & Cross! 🤩
Not surprisingly that’s my new fav Last Word riff

that is super cool sub. Now we need the ROb home bar home made. can't wait
Working on it.. gotta track down a bunch of weird dried herbs 🤣
Anders did a segment on substitutes awhile back. Strega doesn't do it for me. Thankfully I have lots of Chartreuse! Good video Rob!
Strega is a good substitute for yellow chartreuse, it’s nearly identical, but not green! But this one here did a pretty good job
@@RobsHomeBar I don’t find Strega that close up Yellow Chartreuse! I wish I did! Cheaper! Cheers!
I’ll have to try it! My Green Chartreuse is also looking desperate
Definitely recommend! Great substitute and like half the price of the what Chartreuse goes for!
Found it a good sub and only side by side in a cocktail could I tell them apart. Next try their chili 🌶️ liqueur as a sub for ancho reyes.
Yea I was looking at that one on their website! I haven’t made too much drinks with chilli liqueur yet! I feel I need to use up my ancho abit more
Hi Rob, is this liquer available in the US?
Not sure, you’d have to ask them if they’re able to ship to you.. I linked to their website in the video description
