Congrats Alex!!!! Huge book!!! Def would rather have the Flash book!!! Maybe a crack/press ?! Try and get a lil bump/ get that in a regular sized CGC holder!!!
Thanks for the trade Alex. You contacted me some months back about the All Flash 1 CGC 5.5 - good we found a trade that works for both. I would have kept the Flash but it wasn’t my only copy. The FF5 I will sell or trade - not a keeper in my collection 👍🏻
You and I both love the good rare stuff, but also have a love for the solid silver. I might reach out again to see if there is anything else you’d let go for 1-3 books.
I bought an All-Flash Quarterly #1 on Heritage last year with the intent to flip. But, once I got the book I couldn't part with it. It went into the PC vault, never to be seen again. I've always felt like this book was undervalued.
@@AlextheComicHoarder Look at the current Heritage auction. Someone explain to me how a Universal 6.5 All Flash is currently a thousand dollars cheaper than a restored 2.5 Green Lantern 1... It makes no sense. Is it because the Flash movie was a flop and James Gunn is doing a Green Lantern tv show? That's a spec game. Do spec collectors pick up books at this level? I would think that wouldn't impact the price. Is Flash less popular than Green Lantern? That would also surprise me.
@@RedRockShane all good questions. There is something about GL comics 1 that is so desirable to golden age collectors. For me I feel like they should be equal in value.
For sure! Both books have amazing covers! And are very important comics. And as long as you're happy with the trade, that's all that really matters. Imo.👍
Very nice. You both did well on this trade. Congrats to both of you. If we ever had a FF 5, we probably would have traded it for a Golden Age keeper at some point. I think the FF 5 will probably go up one more time, then go back down and probably stay there at normal prices. Are you keeping the 4.0 All Flash?
I’m not sure yet. I certainly like both copies. The 5.5 is higher grade obviously, but the 4.0 is in the regular holder and presents so well. I think ultimately the two books I want in my collection after these are green lantern comics 1 and Detective Comics 38.
The Green Lanern Comics 1 is such a great cover...surprisingly more affordable than a lot of the other 1st solo title books. We have our eyes on a couple of Golden Age books at the moment that we are hoping to be able to pick up.
I would have never ever traded a Fantastic Four #5 under any circumstance. I’m too sentimental to the character of Doctor Doom but I’m also not so sure I’ll ever get on your level of where your collection is. I own a lot of goodie’s from the mid 60’s and on word like Hulk#180, Amazing Spider-Man#50, X-Men#94, Daredevil#2 and X-Men#5. So not really grails for me. I could trade up but I love the meaning behind these books too much over their value.
@@joeydrakeward4077 if you ever wanna talk we could figure out a way for you to get an FF5. I love helping people get to their goal. And never say never my friend.

I believe it is volume 1 issue 1. September 1941. I will stand by this statement, “I think it is the rarest Alex Schomburg cover.” There are 30 some Suspense 3s which is considered the rarest…. I have done a EXTENSIVE search over 3-4 years and have only seen about 5 mentions of this cover.

Great trade. I own almost all the Silver and Bronze Age grails but the one I value the most in my collection is Superman #14 (the shield cover) from Jan./Feb. 1942. It's a CGC 6.0 which I got in 2017 for $3500 and has a CGC census of 236 (186 blue labels). I'm not sure what it's current value is.
@@AlextheComicHoarder Great cover, very early Superman issue, oldest comic in my collection, WWII just started and may have been in the newsstands when Pearl Harbor was attacked and probably read by soldiers and marines between battles.
Congrats my friend. Absolutely beautiful book and history that comes with it. Love it
Awesome All-Flash, you get me wanting yet another golden age key.
It’s worth it my friend. I LOVE significant and rare golden age keys.
Very nice pickup off a trade! I do enjoy listening to you talk about "cornerstone" and "foundational" books.
I am thinking about doing a video tag on showing your top 25 foundational and cornerstone books.
Damn I was worried at first but that was a good trade.
Thanks. I fully expect not everyone is going to approve.

I would definitely trade your other flash book for a marvel key
Wow thats awesome buddy!
Thank you so much!
Wow ❤ actually really like the way it looks in thr magazine holder
Amazing looking book Alex!

Great book, Alex. Good comparison to GL #1. Both are nice alternatives to the out-of-reach Flash 1 and AA 16.
Beautiful book!
Thanks brother! It certainly is one that I’m proud of and feel like it’s a piece of history.
I've looked at getting lower grade copies of that book. A 5.5 is a really great grade.

Yeah. I certainly agree that it’s undervalued. I can’t believe the comparison with the Green Lantern Comics 1 is about twice the value. It’s nuts.
