Cool haul! I recently just bought a ASM 300 in my latest video just because of Todd McFarlane’s art and David Michelenie’s story! The books an awesome read! Plus I even got to finish my entire venom run 🎉🎉
Nice haul. Just recently grabbed my second copy of ASM 194 right in the price range you listed. Foundational books are the move, and I enjoy the various categories you have for presenting books in your videos.
@@Dewfanatic thank you my friend. I started this series, because I sold a ton of boxes and wanted to be more focused on building my collection with keys. I wanted the foundation of my collection to just be books I really enjoyed.
These are the only comic videos I watch these days, otherwise it’s all about the vintage toys for me right now. Fantastic pickups; love seeing you grabbing these keys still. Congrats 🍾
I really like this series, especially the first video in the series where you show us the comics in your existing/current foundational collection. I'd be interested in an update video "These are all the comics I've added to my foundational collection in the last year" or something. Congrats on those pickups!
What a fantastic haul! I love the term “foundational keys” and I 100% believe all of these books belong in that category. You did great on this one and I feel like you also got a really good deal. Also, great video like always; keep ‘em coming.
Thanks for clicking...thanks for making the video. I always enjoy when people find comics in the wild since I can never do that. I don't live in an area where that can happen. $1400
@@joestanley8692 I think that is the origin of the suit. Who knows…. Your guess is as good as mine. And Secret Wars 8 is awesome and I want to get a copy again.
I'm jealous of the ASM 129. I have set myself a side-quest of collecting first appearances of the Netflix Defenders characters, and all I have left are big fish and little minnows. For the big fish, I'm missing Daredevil (+Foggy and Karen), Kingpin, Punisher, and Bullseye. Killgrave might also fall into that category since Daredevil #4 can't be too cheap. Aside from that, I'm looking at smaller characters like Det. Scarfe, Jeryn Hogarth, Ben Urich, and Microchip.
@@stephanholder6240 yeah that stinks. My advice would be take a few smaller keys and try to trade up if you are wanting one of the bigger keys. That stinks though. My shop wants to sell stuff.
I've got a few of these great books in years past and present. ASM 129 was one of my big keys for the year as well as Marvel Spotlight 5. Shout out to Sentinel Comics and its owner Hunter Daniels in Columbus Georgia
i dont own any of those books, but i do own a secret wars 8. its not in perfect condition but i only paid 60 bucks for it, so im happy with that. i collect on a budget, so i can really only afford mid grade comics
i dont think a novice would recognize them. but maybe if they have done a little research prior. most new novice comic collectors i meet dont know anything about older books, they mostly collect newer modern era comics.
@@stormshadowctf possibly. I guess my point is, if you have a buddy over who loves comics. These are the ones he/she will instantly know as big keys. That doesn’t mean they will be their favorite books, but they will certainly know them as the more valuable ones.
@@Comiccomplter55 I think modern foundational keys would be like Ultimate Fallout 4. There might be more and some may become foundational as time goes on. The issue with modern keys is, most older collectors aren’t interested in the stories these days. So instead of reading stories about cyclops and jean grey they are reading about a new Hawkeye that will be rejected by most fans. Not my words, but these new characters just need to stick it out and time will tell.
Congrats, Alex!! Exciting to see all the Spidey books. Believe it or not, I've never owned an ASM 129. I'll need to pick up a copy some day.
Same :)
Love the video!
Maybe another collection will walk in and pull us back into comics, again.
@@greatrivercollectibles I need more comics! Buy more comics.
