I discovered HuaHua with this song. and I immediately loved his voice, his stage presence, he also has an aura with which I quickly connected, more than a singer he is a true artist 🤩
HuaHua is one of the most influential singers in mainland china at the moment. He is very multifaceted and a master at conveying emotion and song interpretation. The two people you asked about were not his parents. The lady is his finance person/manager and the guy hosts a really popular TV show in China (Happy Camp). To me this song is about the desolation an abandoned child feels with the scenery and passage of time as a metaphor for his yearning for his loved ones to return. As others of said #Dad I'm home is epic. But get the tissues ready for that one! My personal fav is #Ordinary Path as the lyrics are so powerful. I'm so very excited that you've started reacting to Hua Chenyu! Many of us Dears are also Martians (fans of Hua Hua)! I think you'll find that Hua Hua's music is VERY diverse. He doesn't generally sing love songs, but his music is quite meaningful. As far as the songs on his Singer 2018 season, he stated, "'Qi Tian' ==> my arrival. 'Child' ==> my childhood. 'Nunchunks' ==> my arrogance. 'I Don't Care' ==> my apathy. 'Flammable and Explosive' ==> the world's conflicting expectations of me. 'Wayfarer' ==> my disappointment after opening up to the world. 'Fake Monk' ==> my inner struggle and salvation. 'Ordinary Path' ==> Clenching my teeth to face myself. 'I Am What I Am' ==>Finding myself". The last song after I have scaled to the mountaintop is 'Shout'.==> Surpassing myself. I definitely recommend reacting to the entire Fake Monk with the pre-interview about the song. Unlike Dimash, who was raised in a large family, filled with love, Hua Hua's parents divorced when he was 2. He seldom saw his mother and he lived with his father who traveled much of the time. Therefore, Hua Hua was left on his own at a very young age and grew up not feeling comfortable socializing with people. His stage presence is very different from his off-stage self which is often rather awkward, but completely lovable! He is an amazing person. He has actually sold out a 90,000 seat stadium in less than 2 minutes and after adding another show, that one sold out in under 3 minutes. When asked why he never raises the ticket prices in all these years, he said, that his concerts are like a yearly gathering and he feels it's best if everyone can come. I can't say enough good things about Dimash and Hua Hua....two very bright lights in the universe right now.
What I'm a fan with Hua, more than his vocal skill set, is his supreme confidence in it. He doesn't need to monitor it anymore, instead he delivers everything to the acting side of the performance. Other singers with super voices always seem to be too occupied with the handling of it.
Wow, I never thought of it that way. I've just seen a video of a teenage him on stage and he performs with the same raw emotion and same right hand gestures to the face as he did in slow songs. I believe when he performs he can easily transport his being into the song. As for singing he has to upgrade his hardware to match his software as he said in a few interviews. Cheers.

Watching his concerts is so epic. The 2019 November 15,16,17 in front of 90,000. Tickets sold out in seconds, he had to cut his hair because he wasn't able to buy one. Some bet he made. This is what I personally get from this performance. Though it's a cover, I feel Hua relates to it as relating to his lonely childhood. When he's walking around, it's like a wondering lost child or looking for his parents. When he's "screaming" it's like a call for love or insecurity, and the last etherial notes as loneliness. I really like how you analyzed his use of vocals. Hua is very meticulous in how he uses every word or vowels to emit the sounds and mood he wants to create. His collaboration with the lyrics is very specific. Hua defies many vocal techniques and insists on his own technique as he believes it stifles his creative intentions. That's what makes all his performances Hua style as you will discover with each performances. Hope you continue to react to him as each has it's own surprising special elements. Nunchucks will give you a general idea of his multiple styles in one song. Hua Chenyu English Subs has many of his performances and interviews. PS. Some of his performances will have a pre performance interviews to explain his interpretations of his songs. Also many of the shows are covers and will be amazed at the rearranging talent which seems almost like a new song. Always glad to find reactions to Hua Chenyu. At least half a dozen songs are needed to discover something of his scope, not only vocally but as a composer and arranger. He deserves to be better known outside of China. I find him a unique communicator, and though so different from Dimash, equally fascinating to follow. The songs are not often quite such an immediate "event" vocally as with Dimash, but for me the lingering impact of some of his pieces as a whole can be even stronger. Eventually, please react to "Fake Monk" (perhaps not next). His song "I don't care" is a good contrast to "Child", and "I really want to love this world" shows his commitment to the message of a song. He had a plan to his sequence of songs throughout "Singer 2018", typical of his thoughtful approach. The lyrics are always important, so subtitles are recommended even though the Mandarin is so difficult to convey in translation.
Hi Josh I am a Dear since later half of 2017. I decided to watch Singer 2018 on YT and of course discovered Hua Hua. It was the song Nunchucks in Singer who really made me a fan of him. He has suchh an charizma on stage and an enormous musicality. His composing and arranging abilities are superb. He PERFORMS every song and creates a piece of art. Not only with his vocals but he knows how to use staging, movements, everything. Off stage he is sensitive, introvert, sometimes very shy but has gained confidence to open up more. I have loved watching the chinese shows where he is mentoring. Mpst of Hua Huas songs are not written to sing along (he is a bit sensitive if his fans get it wrong 😊) but he has also written simpler songs intended for the crowds to sing in stadiums. So he is a very diverse artist and one song just doesn't do him justice so please continue to react to him because there are so much to elaborate on and, experience and enjoy! Love from 🇸🇪.
Hua Hua (Hua Chenyu's nickname) is a versatile and unique artist. He is the top performer in China nowadays. The way he sings isn't only one style just like this beautiful song. His voice always changes to different tones in order to assimilate into different music. Basically he is a rock star but he can handle so many genres perfectly like a chameleon. Very much enjoyed your reaction, Hua Chenyu is one of the top performers in China at the moment and one of the best actors singers, my favorite artist, he’s very emotional and never fails to convey his messages. He does have a few artful masterpieces, as recommended in this thread, Fake Monk or Dad I’m Home (both rearranged covers he made his own) and 7 Personalities which is his own music and song. Hua is a deep thinker and his lyrics are always meaningful. He’s mainly a rocker as he defines himself but he’s very versatile and you never know what genre he’s going to sing, he’s got a trilogy I really like, Sacred Tree (about environment neglect), Arrival (re-birth of nature), New World (the world after), these 3 songs are so on point with what we’re going through at the moment, they’re absolutely beautiful and Hua’s own. You can check them in the show Singer 2020. Best is to react to his segments in the full episodes, first of all you’ll have English subs and less chances of block. Dad I’m Home is a masterpiece of acting singing but it’s so dark I very rarely want to listen to it, it’s a rap song Hua was challenged to rearrange in 24 hours, so he did masterfully and got rave reviews, this song is nothing he experienced in his life, just a very skillfull and talented act.

Each song is a chapter about his growth as a man and a performer. His Singer 2020 songs are deeply emotional and rooted in the mental challenges for him and many in this world. Dad, I'm Home and Fake Monk are both beautiful and disturbing so I would suggest that you wait to view these songs until after you have explored Hua Chenyu's more upbeat performances. Nunchucks, I Don't Care, Bullfighting, Jackdaw Boy, Madhouse and so many more masterpieces. Enjoy your journey with Hua Hua. He is absolutely worth exploring. And once you've seen his current work, take a trip back in time to his 2013 Super Boy days....you will be overwhelmed by the transformation. :D

After Dimash comes HuaHua, for me that is. He is a very deep person and his lyrics are always meaningful. He also speaks about his life but only small snippets as he is very private. He is a complicated singer but I absolutely adore him. I love "I Don't Care" which shows him getting the audience really involved as they know all the lyrics. Thanks for this reaction. x

His dinamics are great and the ability he switches between registers is really outstanding for a pop-rock singer. I would suggest to react to Fake Monk (with the pre interview so you can understand better), Salt of the Earth and I really want to love this world. Besides being a great singer, he is placing more emphasis on the composition part and he uses his voice to serve the song more than to impress the audience. He is one of the most unique singers ever, my second to Dimash that I could listen to for ever. His song Dad I'm Home is utterly gut wrenching one and very emotional if you can stand it. It is about domestic abuse but one I feel everyone should hear. You are truly an amazing person when you react and leave me feeling so hopeful in this world.
Wow, your thoughts echo my own about Hua Hua and he is also my second favourite artist after Dimash. These two young men are extraordinarily talented and are a joy to listen to and follow their stories. Dad I'm Home destroys me. People often think it is autobiographical but the lyrics were written by someone else and it is that man's story however, Hua Hua is so convincing in its delivery. He states he was never abused by his father who he lived with when his parents divorced when he was a young boy but he says he was neglected (emotionally?).

Rene Go Dad I’m Home is just a song Hua was challenged to rearrange and so masterfully he did. Hua didn’t experience domestic abuse in his childhood, the original song is from Jay Chou and that’s his own story.

I have noticed that a lot of people recommend Fake Monk and Dad I am home. Both are stunning, but very special performances of him. If you wanna do one of these, I think Fake Monk would be the better choice. But you definetly have to watch the prestage interview before. :-) . You mentiond in one video that you didn´t like rap , so i just wanna tell you that Hua Hua also do rap. If you wanna try some Hua Hua rap for beginners, I think New world would be good ( just a little bit of rap in the end of the song) or the duet Nanping evening bell. Fun fact: a lot of people who didn´t like rap, love Hua Hua rapping. Hua Chenyu songs with definetly no rap are: I am,what I am, I don´t care, Ordinary path, Jackdaw Boy, The Mayfly, Quasimodo´s gift, Ashes from fireworks, Arrival, God tree, Fake Monk, and many more.... Rap songs are: Qi Tian/Wukong, Bullfighting, Aliens, Call me contra, my skateboard shoes, Here we are.......! Hua Hua has no specific genre, he uses all the tools he have to make a song, the best it could be. 100 % Agree with everything you said Vijandra. Rap is a genre I’ve never liked before hearing Hua’s which I adore. Hua’s rap is melodious, powerful, it’s a meaningful and judicious addition bit/piece to otherwise rock songs, Hua says his rap is rock and it is.
Hua Chenyu is imo a brilliant fearless singer, who doesn't afraid to try styles and blend them "Nunchucks" as an example, or create musical theater on stage with the "Fake Monk", "Ordinary Path" also amazing. Make sure you pick versions with lyrics, enjoy.

Hi Josh! Hua Hua is a talented artist, composing, writing, acting, singing and multi instrumentalist. Their performans are unique and innovative. It has that genius and that angel that enchant while it emits a mystical light that captivates. When he performs a song he does it with respect and at the same time, he changes the structure almost completely without losing the message, even as it happened in "The Singer" he was able to make a luxurious piece with a very low quality song that he modified and converted masterly. His lyrics are incredible, because of his style they nickname him ET, The Mouse from Mars or Marciano, because in a video he appears as an astronaut, it is a recurring theme in his first works. He and Dimash were the ones who most captivated me in that competition, there are more very good ones, but for me so far they are the best, it would be a dream to hear them together. Great reaction. "Nunchucks" really shows how diverse Hua is. I found him via Dimash. While both are talented....only Hua can do what he does. He's singing from a different place. He can go from ethereal to assassin in a heart beat. "Fake Monk" is unlike anything I've ever heard. It's heavy and dark but beautiful at the same time. Can't wait for your next reaction :)

Hua Chenyu is another young great singer/song-writer/composer/megastar in China; another artiste that is more than capable of transforming a song and bringing it to a whole new level, like Dimash. There are a few songs that I would like to suggest from HuaHua: Us, Fake Monk, Dad I Am Home, and Nunchuck - All masterful and powerful performances in their different ways. Us is a very personal message to his ex-gf of regret, wishing her well & perhaps letting go; Dad, I Am Home is, as one of the commenters on your board rightly expressed, a "gut-wrenching song"; Fake Monk is an interesting piece on the inner conflicts of a person on a spiritual path (a really good interpretation of such conflicts); Nunchuck is very very nice remake/overhaul from the original song by another megastar, Jay Chou! I'm sooo happy you reacted to Hua Chenyu. My favorite songs of his, that I hope you get around to, is "Fake Monk" which is an incredible performance. Nunchucks is amazing and full of energy and you can see it in the audience. Also a favorite but not reacted to as much as Nunchucks is "Nanping Evening Bells" duet with Yu Su Shinding. I know that many suggest you *Fake Monk* and *Dad I*m home.. but I definitely prefer a reaction to : I really want to love this world or Madhouse.. those are his recent compositions and they concern fighting Depression... before singing I really want to love this world at his latest concert, he talk to the audience on the neccessity to talk with people close to us and seems not feeling well. My suggestion: Madhouse, a frankly under-reacted masterpiece. Go for live version this time, not Singer Show. It needs the anthemic vibe that only a stadium can provide, on Singer, he had to do without an audience, due to the pandemic...
@@2003phylis You're correct that Child was from Singer 2018 when the pandemic wasn't a thing! However, Madhouse was performed in Singer 2020, and frankly I also prefer the live (or even the studio version) of Madhouse to the Singer version.
Child was the song that introduced me to Hua Chenyu and that made his fan. To this day, this song has a special place in my heart by how beautifully touching both vocally, intrepretation and lyrics wise. Hua Chenyu is a musical genius. His style is so unique. The sounds that Hua makes in this song sound like whale song. I found whale song on the internet later, and played them at the same time with this video. You can almost imagine that there is a special communing with whales. Try it!

"Nunchucks" and "Fake monk" are - for me - the best performances of him at this show ("I am a singer"). I also watched parts of his concerts in China. I think he is different, has a different "style" and - like ABBA or Beatles in Europa ... - he will stood out/will be given as an example of artist, over the years. I don't know whom should I compare him with, from America or Asia. When ABBA was in fashion I was 6 y-o. During those times we could discover a good singer or band only on TV, radio, tapes or from concerts. Now we could discover them on Internet and this way made a singer more quickly famous and worldwidely known (not only in a country or on a continent). Hua Hua, Dimash, Diana Ankudinova, Morissette Amon, (+Katrina Velarde, Bugoy Drilon, Daryl Ong, Michael Pangilinan and all those Philippinesse singers) are the best in this decade (2011-2020). Lyrics essential there. As for the tone at the beginning, I think he uses this lulling, windinstrument sound to portray the monotonous rhythm of the train carriage. Looking forward to the next one.
One of his own compositions would be nice. But Fake Monk is a cover :-). His own compositions on singer 2018 are Qi Tian/Wukong ( but its rap) and I don´t care. On singer 2020 all songs are his own compositions except the song Us and the Duet. Some of his early compositions are for example The Mayfly and Quasimodo´s Gift. Hua Chenyu has so many different styles that every song you listen to has a different vibe to it...He is extremely talented and one of my favorite performers...he has a little bit of everything for everyone. HuaHua is one of the most influential singers in mainland china at the moment. He is very multifaceted and a master at conveying emotion and song interpretation. The two people you asked about were not his parents. The lady is his finance person/manager and the guy hosts a really popular TV show in China (Happy Camp). To me this song is about the desolation an abandoned child feels with the scenery and passage of time as a metaphor for his yearning for his loved ones to return. As others of said #Dad I'm home is epic. But get the tissues ready for that one! My personal fav is #Ordinary Path as the lyrics are so powerful. I'm so very excited that you've started reacting to Hua Chenyu! Many of us Dears are also Martians (fans of Hua Hua)! I think you'll find that Hua Hua's music is VERY diverse. He doesn't generally sing love songs, but his music is quite meaningful. As far as the songs on his Singer 2018 season, he stated, "'Qi Tian' ==> my arrival. 'Child' ==> my childhood. 'Nunchunks' ==> my arrogance. 'I Don't Care' ==> my apathy. 'Flammable and Explosive' ==> the world's conflicting expectations of me. 'Wayfarer' ==> my disappointment after opening up to the world. 'Fake Monk' ==> my inner struggle and salvation. 'Ordinary Path' ==> Clenching my teeth to face myself. 'I Am What I Am' ==>Finding myself". The last song after I have scaled to the mountaintop is 'Shout'.==> Surpassing myself. I definitely recommend reacting to the entire Fake Monk with the pre-interview about the song. Unlike Dimash, who was raised in a large family, filled with love, Hua Hua's parents divorced when he was 2. He seldom saw his mother and he lived with his father who traveled much of the time. Therefore, Hua Hua was left on his own at a very young age and grew up not feeling comfortable socializing with people. His stage presence is very different from his off-stage self which is often rather awkward, but completely lovable! He is an amazing person. He has actually sold out a 90,000 seat stadium in less than 2 minutes and after adding another show, that one sold out in under 3 minutes. When asked why he never raises the ticket prices in all these years, he said, that his concerts are like a yearly gathering and he feels it's best if everyone can come. I can't say enough good things about Dimash and Hua Hua....two very bright lights in the universe right now.
What I'm a fan with Hua, more than his vocal skill set, is his supreme confidence in it. He doesn't need to monitor it anymore, instead he delivers everything to the acting side of the performance. Other singers with super voices always seem to be too occupied with the handling of it.
Wow, I never thought of it that way. I've just seen a video of a teenage him on stage and he performs with the same raw emotion and same right hand gestures to the face as he did in slow songs. I believe when he performs he can easily transport his being into the song. As for singing he has to upgrade his hardware to match his software as he said in a few interviews. Cheers.

This is what I personally get from this performance. Though it's a cover, I feel Hua relates to it as relating to his lonely childhood. When he's walking around, it's like a wondering lost child or looking for his parents. When he's "screaming" it's like a call for love or insecurity, and the last etherial notes as loneliness.
I really like how you analyzed his use of vocals. Hua is very meticulous in how he uses every word or vowels to emit the sounds and mood he wants to create. His collaboration with the lyrics is very specific. Hua defies many vocal techniques and insists on his own technique as he believes it stifles his creative intentions. That's what makes all his performances Hua style as you will discover with each performances. Hope you continue to react to him as each has it's own surprising special elements. Nunchucks will give you a general idea of his multiple styles in one song. Hua Chenyu English Subs has many of his performances and interviews.
PS. Some of his performances will have a pre performance interviews to explain his interpretations of his songs. Also many of the shows are covers and will be amazed at the rearranging talent which seems almost like a new song. Some will look up the original version then react to his current version to see the difference. Hope to see more reactions from you on Hua as he is an interesting person to analyze from vocal and performance standpoint.
Always glad to find reactions to Hua Chenyu. At least half a dozen songs are needed to discover something of his scope, not only vocally but as a composer and arranger. He deserves to be better known outside of China. I find him a unique communicator, and though so different from Dimash, equally fascinating to follow. The songs are not often quite such an immediate "event" vocally as with Dimash, but for me the lingering impact of some of his pieces as a whole can be even stronger. Eventually, please react to "Fake Monk" (perhaps not next). His song "I don't care" is a good contrast to "Child", and "I really want to love this world" shows his commitment to the message of a song. He had a plan to his sequence of songs throughout "Singer 2018", typical of his thoughtful approach. The lyrics are always important, so subtitles are recommended even though the Mandarin is so difficult to convey in translation.
Hi Josh I am a Dear since later half of 2017. I decided to watch Singer 2018 on YT and of course discovered Hua Hua. It was the song Nunchucks in Singer who really made me a fan of him. He has suchh an charizma on stage and an enormous musicality. His composing and arranging abilities are superb. He PERFORMS every song and creates a piece of art. Not only with his vocals but he knows how to use staging, movements, everything. Off stage he is sensitive, introvert, sometimes very shy but has gained confidence to open up more. I have loved watching the chinese shows where he is mentoring. Mpst of Hua Huas songs are not written to sing along (he is a bit sensitive if his fans get it wrong 😊) but he has also written simpler songs intended for the crowds to sing in stadiums. So he is a very diverse artist and one song just doesn't do him justice so please continue to react to him because there are so much to elaborate on and, experience and enjoy! Love from 🇸🇪.
Hua Hua (Hua Chenyu's nickname) is a versatile and unique artist. He is the top performer in China nowadays. The way he sings isn't only one style just like this beautiful song. His voice always changes to different tones in order to assimilate into different music. Basically he is a rock star but he can handle so many genres perfectly like a chameleon. Very much enjoyed your reaction, Hua Chenyu is one of the top performers in China at the moment and one of the best actors singers, my favorite artist, he’s very emotional and never fails to convey his messages. He does have a few artful masterpieces, as recommended in this thread, Fake Monk or Dad I’m Home (both rearranged covers he made his own) and 7 Personalities which is his own music and song. Hua is a deep thinker and his lyrics are always meaningful. He’s mainly a rocker as he defines himself but he’s very versatile and you never know what genre he’s going to sing, he’s got a trilogy I really like, Sacred Tree (about environment neglect), Arrival (re-birth of nature), New World (the world after), these 3 songs are so on point with what we’re going through at the moment, they’re absolutely beautiful and Hua’s own. You can check them in the show Singer 2020. Best is to react to his segments in the full episodes, first of all you’ll have English subs and less chances of block. Dad I’m Home is a masterpiece of acting singing but it’s so dark I very rarely want to listen to it, it’s a rap song Hua was challenged to rearrange in 24 hours, so he did masterfully and got rave reviews, this song is nothing he experienced in his life, just a very skillfull and talented act.

Hua Chenyu (Hua Hua by his nickname) can do rap, rock, opera, pop, jazz, reggae. He composes most of his songs and rearranges others in 24 h. He is a beautiful and pure soul off stage but he is so immersed in each song so he can deliver best the message. Everytime please use videos with eng subs so you can understand the song better. You have to react to Nunchucks, Bullfighting, Madhouse. The last two are his masterpieces, his own compositions. Looking forward to you next Hua Hua reaction!

Dad, I'm Home and Fake Monk are both beautiful and disturbing so I would suggest that you wait to view these songs until after you have explored Hua Chenyu's more upbeat performances. Nunchucks, I Don't Care, Bullfighting, Jackdaw Boy, Madhouse and so many more masterpieces. Enjoy your journey with Hua Hua. He is absolutely worth exploring. And once you've seen his current work, take a trip back in time to his 2013 Super Boy days....you will be overwhelmed by the transformation. :D

After Dimash comes HuaHua, for me that is. He is a very deep person and his lyrics are always meaningful. He also speaks about his life but only small snippets as he is very private. He is one of the most unique singers ever, my second to Dimash that I could listen to for ever. His song Dad I'm Home is utterly gut wrenching one and very emotional if you can stand it. It is about domestic abuse but one I feel everyone should hear. You are truly an amazing person when you react and leave me feeling so hopeful in this world.
Wow, your thoughts echo my own about Hua Hua and he is also my second favourite artist after Dimash. These two young men are extraordinarily talented and are a joy to listen to and follow their stories. Dad I'm Home destroys me. People often think it is autobiographical but the lyrics were written by someone else and it is that man's story however, Hua Hua is so convincing in its delivery. He states he was never abused by his father who he lived with when his parents divorced when he was a young boy but he says he was neglected (emotionally?).

I have noticed that a lot of people recommend Fake Monk and Dad I am home. Both are stunning, but very special performances of him. If you wanna do one of these, I think Fake Monk would be the better choice. But you definetly have to watch the prestage interview before. :-) . You mentiond in one video that you didn´t like rap , so i just wanna tell you that Hua Hua also do rap. If you wanna try some Hua Hua rap for beginners, I think New world would be good ( just a little bit of rap in the end of the song) or the duet Nanping evening bell.
Fun fact: a lot of people who didn´t like rap, love Hua Hua rapping. Hua Chenyu songs with definetly no rap are: I am,what I am, I don´t care, Ordinary path, Jackdaw Boy, The Mayfly, Quasimodo´s gift, Ashes from fireworks, Arrival, God tree, Fake Monk, and many more.... Rap songs are: Qi Tian/Wukong, Bullfighting, Aliens, Call me contra, my skateboard shoes, Here we are.......! Hua Hua has no specific genre, he uses all the tools he have to make a song, the best it could be. So he often mixes different genres, good example for this is Nunchucks ( includes a little bit of rap as well, but also other surprises).

100 % Agree with everything you said Vijandra. Rap is a genre I’ve never liked before hearing Hua’s which I adore. Hua’s rap is melodious, powerful, it’s a meaningful and judicious addition bit/piece to otherwise rock songs, Hua says his rap is rock and it is.
Hua Chenyu is imo a brilliant fearless singer, who doesn't afraid to try styles and blend them "Nunchucks" as an example, or create musical theater on stage with the "Fake Monk", "Ordinary Path" also amazing. Make sure you pick versions with lyrics, enjoy.

Hua Hua is a talented artist, composing, writing, acting, singing and multi instrumentalist.
Their performans are unique and innovative.
It has that genius and that angel that enchant while it emits a mystical light that captivates.
When he performs a song he does it with respect and at the same time, he changes the structure almost completely without losing the message, even as it happened in "The Singer" he was able to make a luxurious piece with a very low quality song that he modified and converted masterly.
His lyrics are incredible, because of his style they nickname him ET, The Mouse from Mars or Marciano, because in a video he appears as an astronaut, it is a recurring theme in his first works.
He and Dimash were the ones who most captivated me in that competition, there are more very good ones, but for me so far they are the best, it would be a dream to hear them together.

"Nunchucks" really shows how diverse Hua is. I found him via Dimash. While both are talented....only Hua can do what he does. He's singing from a different place. He can go from ethereal to assassin in a heart beat. "Fake Monk" is unlike anything I've ever heard. It's heavy and dark but beautiful at the same time. Can't wait for your next reaction :)

Hua Chenyu is another young great singer/song-writer/composer/megastar in China; another artiste that is more than capable of transforming a song and bringing it to a whole new level, like Dimash.
There are a few songs that I would like to suggest from HuaHua: Us, Fake Monk, Dad I Am Home, and Nunchuck - All masterful and powerful performances in their different ways. Us is a very personal message to his ex-gf of regret, wishing her well & perhaps letting go; Dad, I Am Home is, as one of the commenters on your board rightly expressed, a "gut-wrenching song"; Fake Monk is an interesting piece on the inner conflicts of a person on a spiritual path (a really good interpretation of such conflicts); Nunchuck is very very nice remake/overhaul from the original song by another megastar, Jay Chou!

@@2003phylis You're correct that Child was from Singer 2018 when the pandemic wasn't a thing! However, Madhouse was performed in Singer 2020, and frankly I also prefer the live (or even the studio version) of Madhouse to the Singer version.
Child was the song that introduced me to Hua Chenyu and that made his fan. To this day, this song has a special place in my heart by how beautifully touching both vocally, intrepretation and lyrics wise.

Hua Chenyu is a musical genius. His style is so unique. The sounds that Hua makes in this song sound like whale song. I found whale song on the internet later, and played them at the same time with this video. You can almost imagine that there is a special communing with whales. Try it!

"Nunchucks" and "Fake monk" are - for me - the best performances of him at this show ("I am a singer"). I also watched parts of his concerts in China.
I think he is different, has a different "style" and - like ABBA or Beatles in Europa ... - he will stood out/will be given as an example of artist, over the years.
I don't know whom should I compare him with, from America or Asia.
When ABBA was in fashion I was 6 y-o. During those times we could discover a good singer or band only on TV, radio, tapes or from concerts. Now we could discover them on Internet and this way made a singer more quickly famous and worldwidely known (not only in a country or on a continent).
Hua Hua, Dimash, Diana Ankudinova, Morissette Amon, (+Katrina Velarde, Bugoy Drilon, Daryl Ong, Michael Pangilinan and all those Philippinesse singers) are the best in this decade (2011-2020). Who will appear in the next decade? 😀 I can't wait!...

Yes, copyright block. Maybe he could edit it somehow. 🤔 But I won't suggest Dad I am home anymore. There are so much other great performances from Hua Hua which are safe. And it's kind of sad when a reactor put so much effort into his video and then it get blocked. I hope we can see the video somehow. I really like this channel. The analysis is always so interesting. 😊

The main reason for the attack is- fans don't have confidence of their own idols' abilities, hoping that by discredit HuaHua will elevate their popularity. Actually they only successfully tarnished their own idols. Very childish. 🤣

So happy you did a reaction video to Hua. He is such a great performer. You have only scratched the surface of his talent. Next one of his own compositions, I suggest Fake Monk. Lyrics essential there. As for the tone at the beginning, I think he uses this lulling, windinstrument sound to portray the monotonous rhythm of the train carriage.

One of his own compositions would be nice. But Fake Monk is a cover :-). His own compositions on singer 2018 are Qi Tian/Wukong ( but its rap) and I don´t care. On singer 2020 all songs are his own compositions except the song Us and the Duet. Some of his early compositions are for example The Mayfly and Quasimodo´s Gift.

Hua Chenyu has so many different styles that every song you listen to has a different vibe to it...He is extremely talented and one of my favorite performers...he has a little bit of everything for everyone. Like Dimash he was trained in classical music, but did not like it and wanted to sing his own songs and in his way....LOTS of emotion in his songs. Like Dimash he takes you on a journey.
