    Beets are tough lol we still have trays that fail here and there. We will share all the deets with you soon. We find the mold completely stops for the most part when covering and the germination rate is better. We do spray them down with zerotol through the germination stage every other day which also really helps. Sunnies we don’t cover but we mist with zerotol during germination as well. We also soak sunflowers before we plant them. The seed hulls really stick to the shoots so we’re really not a big fan of the sunflower 🌻 but we’d be happy to show a video if people want to see what we do 😊

    Thank you for another great video. I am just starting in the Microgreen business, so I really enjoy these videos. I would like to also get into the flowers. I just moved from So Cal to Utah. Getting used to the climate change.

    Would love to see your process on shiso, red veined sorrel, and others that require a specific germination process. There is not a lot of content out there about the high-end crops.

    Thank you for all the great videos!!! I saw in the comments from a previous video that you do not sell them by weight. What is the reasoning for this and have you run into any push back from chefs or if you are moving into wholesale do they not want to know the weight. Do you have any idea what a container of those harvested pea shoots weigh? Can you give a price range that you charge for these. I understand sharing pricing is sometimes not peoples favorite thing to do but it is quite helpful for education purposes. I know most chefs i deal with in the Atlanta area want a price by weight. Thanks so much for your info, i have been growing micros as a extra product on my farm for years but still find your info to be very useful and i am trying a couple of your procedures. thanks

    After harvest, what do you with the trays of roots?

    • @Cas_thibeau
      @Cas_thibeau 7 місяців тому +1

      We dump the trays, soak, pressure wash and sanitize before planting again. The microgreens don’t really grow another flush. You can compost your flats of course. We did that for along time! 😊

    Hello! Don't you need to remove the moldy part immediately? Doesn't it affect the end product? Thanks! I'm from the PH and it's warm and humid here too so I've been also getting mold issues if not sanitized properly.

    Great crop, thanks for sharing your process in detail. Looking forward to beets, they're still fighting me, 😂.
    Question does covering improve germination? We remove all peas that don't germinate, as they mold in tray under lights. If covered does it stop this? When we covered sunnies in the past, covering resulted in missed bad patches under soil where seed didn't germ. Only time I've covered peas is when I dropped a tray 😂, just piled them back into the tray and covered lightly. Was amazed at how they grew.
    Awesome stuff keep them coming and really enjoyed your microgreen consulting episode too.

      I dont necessarily think it improves the germination. However it does help with our molding issues.
      Thanks for following and commenting. stay tuned for more content

    Do you rinse you micro greens before you package?

    • @tinyleafmicrogreenfarm
      @tinyleafmicrogreenfarm  7 місяців тому

      No we do not because there are different GAP requirements for rinsed produce but also microgreens do not handle moisture well so we harvest a dry crop and on our labels we recommend rinsing if the customer chooses to do so. Microgreens do better unwashed and handled with the most care. We do our best keep the product sanitary before packaging and making sure you are wearing the right protective gear during harvest along with the sterile farm environment throughout the grow... they should be clean and good to go on a plate :)

    do you spray straight 3 percent HP on them or do you dilute that like you do when you soak them in HP. Also could you please tell me what you feed the microgreens

    • @tinyleafmicrogreenfarm
      @tinyleafmicrogreenfarm  6 місяців тому

      No we dilute 2oz of HP per 2 gallon sprayer. We use a variety of nutrients. Check out ocean solution for an easy to use nutrient.

      The right amount!!! We have very successful pea growing yields with this process. This is just our process and procedure. You can do as you wish. this is free information to do with what you want. Happy growing and send a video or picture of your end results. Were doing 100 flats a week here so any information to better our grow is good information.

    Great videos guys. IT helps to watch. How long do you store zerotol for in the sprayer once mixed up? How long does it last and is good for use? I am waiting for my business licence so I cant Buy zerotol in Canada Until i get my Licence (farmers with a business licence can get it in Canada without a pesticide/algaecide Licence as zerotol is classified here) so I m just asking you guys :)

    • @tinyleafmicrogreenfarm
      @tinyleafmicrogreenfarm  7 місяців тому +2

      It lasts quite a long time because the mixture is 1.8 ounces per every 2 gallons of water. It will eventually eat through the plastics on your sprayers though lol like I said in the video it’s a really harsh product but it’s great for fungal control through the germ phase. We typically go through a bottle of zerotol every 6 months and we use it everyday. The sprayer usually breaks before we finish the zerotol. We always have back up sprayers at the farm lol

    Great 🌱Content
    You might want to try Washing Your Seeds Better to prevent the Mold Problems, or you could be using too much H2 o2..
    Are those Yellow or Green Pea Seeds ?
    You could have a Bad Batch of Seeds if they are getting mushy while germinating.
    Who do you get your seeds from ?
    Have you Checked your Water Temp & PH ?
    I never have any Mold Problems,, and I don’t use any H2 o2 on my Seeds .
    But I Designed a USDA Certified Problem Solving Proprietary Patentable Hydro Ag Lab Microgreens Farm Pod that Solves a lot of Production Problems that have been attracting a lot of interest from USDA, Big & Small Food Buyers & Distributors, VC Groups and many other who think my Hydro Ag Solutions could Disrupt the Vertical Farming Industry, and turn Microgreens into the Next $MultiBillion$ Packaged Salad Brand.
