    Hello! Don't you need to remove the moldy part immediately? Doesn't it affect the end product? Thanks! I'm from the PH and it's warm and humid here too so I've been also getting mold issues if not sanitized properly.

    Thank you so much for the wonderful videos! The flowers on the shelf are beautiful! May I ask what is the he the size of the flower pot? What kind of soil mix do you use for flowers? And what is the distance between the shelves? Could you please do a video on growing flowers?

    • @tinyleafmicrogreenfarm
      @tinyleafmicrogreenfarm 19 днів тому

      We arent a flower farm so we dont do a lot with them except use them in our fiesta blends. The are in 5" pots we try to set them a few inches apart to give them room to grow out. Flowers are A LOT of work, they need constant pruning and care. The soil is just a potting mix, nothing special and we only grow a few varieties. Marigolds, pentas, snap dragons and violas but all are in different seasons. We sometimes order our starter plants from another local farm. Just depends on how much time we have to commit to the flower growing. Maybe at some stage we could do a video on the flowers but its not our focus right now :)

    Thank you for all the great videos!!! I saw in the comments from a previous video that you do not sell them by weight. What is the reasoning for this and have you run into any push back from chefs or if you are moving into wholesale do they not want to know the weight. Do you have any idea what a container of those harvested pea shoots weigh? Can you give a price range that you charge for these. I understand sharing pricing is sometimes not peoples favorite thing to do but it is quite helpful for education purposes. I know most chefs i deal with in the Atlanta area want a price by weight. Thanks so much for your info, i have been growing micros as a extra product on my farm for years but still find your info to be very useful and i am trying a couple of your procedures. thanks

    Great walk-throught. Very clear and easy to follow. Can I ask what your average yield is per tray for Shiso? I would love to know for both Bi-color and Perilla. Also, how many days to harvest do you usually need for Perilla?

    • @tinyleafmicrogreenfarm
      @tinyleafmicrogreenfarm 3 місяці тому

      Hey there. Thank you glad you enjoyed the content. Perilla is roughly a 32 day cycle seed to harvest and we are getting Bi-colored harvested around 24 days. Yields the Bi-color gets you more then the Perilla so we are focusing more on growing the Bi-colored. we do our shiso by volume OZ so a full flat will fill an 64OZ clamshell. Hope that helps.

What is your average weight yield on a try of cantaloupe? 3. Is the cost of Cantaloupe seeds crazy over there aswell? I’m in South Africa and am really struggling to source well priced seeds. Thank you 🌱

      Crops that have a thicker root structure (cantaloupe, peas, sorrel, etc.) enjoy the root space 2 inch trays provide. We normally will 2 8oz containers out of a single flat of healthy mature cantaloupe. The seed is bought from Hoss and is generally not too expensive.

    • @tinyleafmicrogreenfarm
      @tinyleafmicrogreenfarm 3 місяці тому

      Yeees Man. Fellow Saffa Grower. Good to see our videos being watched back on home soil. we use Deep trays for crops the need more soil for root structure. They are also a covered crop so we prefer a cleaner grow when the seed pushes through the soil cover. The 2 inch also helps keep all the soil in the flats. Seed cost less here due to availability. A 5 pound bag cost $72.38 Happy Growing
