This deserves a lot of attention and I hope it gets the viewings to make that happen. Good job 👍 OK - It's now 2 days later........... As i noted there is lot in here and this was a quite a profound interview. First my new bike will not cut the mustard regarding sound systems (it has none..! major pisser). I was, a long time ago in the RAN for a decade and had my final years there on Fremantle P Boats. On one away patrol in the late 80's we were doing exercises with major Fleet assets and got tasked with moving some crew from those ships to shore for medical reasons. One of those lads was a suicide survivor, pulled the trigger on a 12 gauge and simultaneously had second thoughts......he was undergoing jaw reconstruction, I saw him several years later (we were then both out of the Navy) in my home town working, and I assume having some sort of life. He didn't look much different so the surgeries were partly successful but a missing jaw is ... that ... a missing jaw. I never approached him from the Navy angle and always kept my guard, but always supported the shop where he worked. I am not hard core, I don't do HD (HD Simp, however) But i have been doing Black Dog Rides and the Local RAVs ride in Mackay (Qld) I think the message you and lot of others that I follow on the inter-webs is really important. I wanted to do the 2300 K (4600 K round) trip down from QLd to ride with you & Danny last year for Life Line but 500 mm of rain washed that trip out. Great interview. I have spoken to Justin a few times many people don't understand him just think he is a fool which he is not . I learnt more from this interview. I learnt a long time ago about suicide and how it affects people that are left behind 💔. Talking to people about helping them with Mental health issues is not easy . It is right if they don't want to help themselves it is pointless as l brings down you too . Best thing to do then is to step back as you're no help to anyone else when you become frustrated and depressed too . Justin has a big heart and is a good man . The good thing l find about you channel is you make us question ourselves on how we came to our choices and opinions.
Two of my most favourite youtubers in one video, love and respect you bith so much for being real and fearless, you're both a huge inspiration for many, myself included 🔥❤️🔥
Great interview Aymen, was a great day today to catch up with Justin, ride with some old school friends and chew the fat and discuss some of the things you've covered with him here. Hearing Justin's story and Danny telling how so many people are still choosing to take the easy way out even after watching his shows, I have to wonder at what the disconnect is and I keep telling people you don't have to be an expert about this, you just have to be there and lend them some of your time and listen when they approach you. Too many are scared of the reaction they might get if they try to open up, so we have to change our way of thinking and be some how more receptive, it's not going to make us lesser blokes and it might just make us a hero in someones eyes how really needs it.
I bought my friends 2000 Road Glide Screaming Eagle Twin Cam. My last bike was a 77 Lowrider that I bought brand new so this new Glide(to me) was pretty fast. I'm 73 years young and my first ride was 4,000 miles leaving from San Francisco going to Sturgis and the coming back through Utah. By the time we left SF, I had made some changes to the bike like a new paint job that I did myself, and more or less changed it to my liking. As far as performance, I changed the stock air cleaner to a K&N. The only problem with that was relocating the breather tubes because their setup was a tube running under the main filter and of course it had a smaller version of that filter, which in turn would leak the gross looking crap coming out of the top end onto the cam chest cover and my jeans! I fixed that by running that 3/8" ss tube back to the side cover and mounted my old touch up spray guns aluminum paint cup with secured lid on the frame down tube right behind the rear cylinder, a modified Catch Can if you will. It works great! You can't believe what comes out of your engine until you open that catch can to dump out the remnants of what looks to be what my dog pukes! Lol!! I'm enjoying this old twin cammer and I have updated the chain tensioners and cam plate now I am ready to change the cams to 525 cams, and change my engine sprocket for one with a few more teeth so I can ride with my Bros without having to rev the engine higher to keep up!
@@OldNotDead-Club I'm glad to meet you, you hit on subjects that I see while riding with dudes I don't know that well! Fantastic video, I was surprised by the way it went into mental health, but, having been there myself I found it to be really honest and informative. Thank you from England

Take care guys and have a great 2024 on your bikes 🤘🏻
THANKS for sharing! permanent action for temporary condition. Best, perhaps, to understand that solutions are coming in unexpected ways. Addressing the balance of mind, body, spirit is key: taking care of one helps the others, but all are needed.
Just out of curiosity, how old is Justin? Only reason I ask is as you know from my previous comments I am turning 62 next month and buying a new Harley so seeing older riders on a bagger inspires me big time. I love the Low Rider ST with that sweet M8 117 so know that bike will rip especially after a stage 2. Plus 100 lbs less than my last bike which was a Street Glide. But 727 lbs is still heavy bike for an old man. I may have to take you up on your coaching Aymen as I need a mentor to help me navigate life which I am struggling with at the the moment. God Bless you mate. You are a good egg. 👍
@oldnotdead this video changed my perception on life. I don't want to get all emotional and stuff but your video's really helped me cope with stuff that I've been dealing with my whole life. I'm a freshman at riding motorcycles, I'm actually going through my first week of riding as I write this. I wouldn't normally talk about this because I'm more kind of old-fashioned that way. I'm a "tough" man (opposite to the old profile picture, I look like a Harley riding Viking right now 🙂), so I'm used to not talking about feelings that matter. This is actually my first reaction to a video online ever. I'm actually going through my second depression right now. I've been helping people my whole life. I almost got to the point of ending my own life but instead I bought a 24y old Harley sportster 1200 before I even had my drivers licence (I know it's a girls bike ;-) ) Right now I've managed to get my license and ride my bike almost every day. It helps me feel more masculine, confident and happy. Keep doing what you do because I hope there are people that change their life the way I did through your video's. Kind regards, some Belgian Harley riding guy!
Let me tell you something. I am a disabled American Veteran. There are 20 million of us in America. I do not know the numbers for Australia. But a great number of us here have been right where you were. You are not alone. I believe you call them "diggers" down there. Find a Digger to talk to. It is a solid bet that when you do, you will hap[pen upon someone who understands.
I have to say Aymen I ride a 2023 Indian Super Cheif Limited and love the shit out of it,but I've recently found your channel old not dead and I love it aswell, you are a very nolegable man about bikes and life,so I just would like to say wel done on the channel and I will be watching from now 😊
This was vey timely for me personally. I know the feeling Justine is talking about as I myself have tried to suicide twice. I have been in a terrible place for quite a few months now. This reminded me of how I felt years ago after trying to end my life. I have children to live for.
@@OldNotDead-Club it was for me great timing to see this video. A bit like Justin watching Danny on this attempt. I only recently started watching your videos after seeing you on Hogs, Cogs and two Aussie flogs.
i had kind of a parallel life with this guy without the celebrities. i was out of my house by thirteen, racing, and selling drugs, living the high life ..ect....
Justin is a hella cool dude, and insanely funny. Ive never mwt him in person, but, have followed him from M$B, and then, found his own channel. Im hoping to figurenout howntonget to Australia, and participate in M$B's Mens Nental Health Ride, and get to meet all the people there. Great cause, great people.
You know, to be honest, before this video I was convinced Justin was an absolute idiot. After learning a little about him and listening to him, I couldn't be more wrong. By the sound of things, I've had a similar life to Justin. Not as extreme as him, but figuratively speaking, we definitely went to the same school or lived in the same street from a life experience analogy if that makes sense. I had no idea I had so much in common with him. The pain is never too far from the surface.
Thanks mate I'm so happy that you watched the video and that you could relate and understand what I'm saying in the hope to help other people big hug and take care oh and go get a pie 🤣👍❤🥧

Thank you and all the best, chin up

Hi,
Chris here,
I have just turned Sixty years young, I just done one push up for every year lived,From that beautiful place Ireland.
Hi Chris a big hello from across the world
Let me tell you something.
Thats it man, road glides are the moto Gp bikes of the cruiser world, the top tier, the upper echelon with supermodel looks
lol thats debatable
Justin is great guy, met him at Geelong bike night, what a honest great bloke.
I have to say Aymen I ride a 2023 Indian Super Cheif Limited and love the shit out of it,but I've recently found your channel old not dead and I love it aswell, you are a very nolegable man about bikes and life,so I just would like to say wel done on the channel and I will be watching from now 😊
Yesterday, I woke up with the overwhelming thought of suicide. Today, I feel a little better. This video has really touched me.
Thanks for watching
This was vey timely for me personally. I know the feeling Justine is talking about as I myself have tried to suicide twice. I have been in a terrible place for quite a few months now. This reminded me of how I felt years ago after trying to end my life. I have children to live for.
I'm sorry to hear that, children are always a great reason to keep going. ❤️
@@OldNotDead-Club it was for me great timing to see this video. A bit like Justin watching Danny on this attempt. I only recently started watching your videos after seeing you on Hogs, Cogs and two Aussie flogs.
I'm glad it helped! You must be here in Oz if you watch Whitey and Paul?

Thanks
He's telling the truth about that failure feeling.
Thanks, i think this video makes a point about judging people - don't lol
Thanks mate I'm so happy that you watched the video and that you could relate and understand what I'm saying in the hope to help other people big hug and take care oh and go get a pie 🤣👍❤🥧
What a great video!!!!
Thank you!!
