Great interview. I've seen lots of Kelsi's interviews and I think she has enough humbleness to know she's not full of shit. There's a lot of backlash online about her not being where she says she was. But there's more to say she was.
As a former memember in the canadian infantry, I think she was put into a situation she wasn't trained or prepared for. And that would be very tramatic.
Keep doing you Kelsi, your awesome!

@@thekelsisherenperspectiveA common lament of every grunt, male female or whatever in every war on every side throughout history most likely.
I cannot remember how this goes now.
We the unwilling (voluntold has a long history) who do the impossible with nothing or less, stick together and carry on.
And yes there are different versions through the years probably but saddest thing is it never changes. Ever.
Any body voting in war, should AT LEAST be a Veteran. Far from what most dope smoker woke chant the LAST people who want to send folks where they have been, are the survivors. Except as the LAST RESORT.

Kelsi “we can still use the boot” Sheren.
She’s not one of the biggest assholes who ever cursed a fighting force by serving for a week and making a lifelong lecture tour about why we owe it to veterans to be supportive when they commit acts of terrorism and hate crimes in the name of ptsd. She’s certainly not a disgrace of a human being who feels compassion only for herself and her problems.

One thing I've learned over the years... Never tell the Canadian gov./military what they won't do. We deployed to Afghanistan in CADPAT TWs (xmas tree suits). Need I say more?
They say "Marines make-do". * Laughs in Canadian * lol
We "make-do" so hard because half our shit either doesn't work or "fell of the truck". The C7 I did Qual. with was just a beat-up Frankenstein of bottom-barrel replacement parts, like a highschool trumpet lol.
And don't even get me started on the whole "we expect you to do this, but we ain't gonna tell you what, who or why" thing... It's a very efficient Morale-destroyer. I've spoken to many other Canadian Veterans who call me "disgruntled", but my response is simple "You served in the same utter circle-jerk I did. How are do you *not* have feelings about it?" The only way I'm "disgruntled" is if they're just blinded True Believers.

Mike , I’m 56. Our governments support and handling of our Canadian Military has been a messy fucking abortion since at least before I was born. Imagine any country with as many shore miles to defend sovereignty not having at least 2 blue sea battle groups with a carrier. We joke that we needed the US to ferry our F18’s to the Mediterranean for Afghanistan. We did sorties without any missile guidance tech. One of Trudeau’s first military moves after he was elected, was recalling our F18’s because we were just burning fuel. Fucking embarrassing.

I am proud of my service but our higher ups and Government needs to realize we are not a supper power and stop referring that we have Miltary Division. For a woman who served in the Canadian forces to say “we only have jtf2” is kinda ridiculous. We have multiple special forces units. Yes we have our tier1 unit jtf2 but we also have CJIRU the Canadian joint incident response unit as well as CSOR Canadian special operations regiment and then we have our special operations aviation which is called 427 squadron I believe. Also our navy’s closest thing to special unit is NTOG they’re not technically under CANSOFCOM umbrella but they’re a solid unit of operators. So we don’t just have jtf2 lol

There are no bills in the legislature that allow or encourage censorship. This is a pretty common political tactic where people spread misinformation about a bill and bank on no one actually reading it. So don't take my word for it, bill C-11 is about CRTC (FCC in America) regulating streaming services and specifically - laid out in the bill it excludes UA-cam content creators or bloggers or people posting things to the internet. Not accusing her of lying, she's just wrong and repeating something she heard. Pretty common.
    >> Exclusion - carrying on broadcasting undertaking
(2.‍1) A person who uses a social media service to upload programs for transmission over the Internet and reception by other users of the service - and who is not the provider of the service or the provider’s affiliate, or the agent or mandatory of either of them - does not, by the fact of that use, carry on a broadcasting undertaking for the purposes of this Act.
THIS ACT SPECIFICALLY SAYS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT SHE JUST SAID. And NO, I don't think she's dishonest. It's just that nobody likes to read bills. We'd rather have someone's take on it. And the takes we get on a bill, usually come from someone who hasn't read it.
And NO - some liberal ridings aren't BIGGER. Nor would a riding being bigger make any difference. Towns and cities and villages are grouped into ridings or electoral districts of about 80k people and each gets to elect a member to the Federal legislature - like a congressional race in the U.S. Each of those elected members gets a vote in the house. You cannot elect the Prime Minister. Your elected member can vote for or against the PM. A majority vote of the members of the House of Commons can, at any time, remove a Prime Minister and call an election.
There are provinces like Alberta that are very anit-liberal. But their population represents 11.6% of the nation. And their biggest cities contain lots of Liberals. Big city people are liberal. Rural people are more suspicious of minorities because they don't know lots of great immigrants. Live in a city, and you are exposed to tonnes of hard working and friendly immigrants. Live in the country and you don't run into a lot of immigrants. This confuses rural people and they feel like their voice isn't heard. It's not a conspiracy.

Not sure how much of it has been resolved Mike, but a bunch of the crap she wrote in her book and talked about on Jocko were ... Inaccurate at best. Not sure what to think anymore about anything else she says

You mean the book that’s not out yet that no one has access too?? Suuuuure. How about you ask the people involved instead of trolls.
Feel free, but you won’t because facts don’t seem to matter.

@@thekelsisherenperspective that's fine, I was referring to what I heard on Jocko, and the thousands of people who it didn't sit right with, and the Scottish blokes who didn't/couldn't corroborate some of the story. It is no doubt clear that you have been through hell regardless of the details- and no one is denying that- however there's some aspects of "crying wolf" that make it difficult to listen to, and do a disservice to others.
Thank you for your service regardless, and wish you the best.

@@accordv6er Thanks for the reply, unfortunately the ones who weren't along side me cant corroborate the same. I wasnt with them, so I fully agree they couldn't have seen me but the ones I was with, all have confirmed information to Jocko about this and stepped up and wrote on behalf. There is nothing about my story that is crying wolf, but I can see how people have made it look as such. I appreciate you taking the time. Be well!

That needed to be mentioned, especially given that her book release has been delayed as concerns have been raised. She’s also gotten in trouble for fraud over her disability payments while using her story as a sales pitch. The fact there are guys who served years in special forces who have way less to talk about than her one week adventure kinda says she’s a dramatist in and of itself. I love to hate her, so I don’t mind seeing her on these podcasts, because if the guys who have the most reason to snub her are willing to promote her line of bs, then who am I to judge by comparison? But I’ve read the objections by her teammates to things she says, and anyone who hasn’t should before they decide how big a badass cool chick she is.

Listening to her it sounds like they constantly had to make changes to accommodate her, look out for her, and then after seeing one guy get blown up she's got PTSD for the rest of her life and now the government can send her a check forever maybe women should not be in combat

    • @SG-MT
      @SG-MT 2 роки тому +3

What is your professional medical expertise?
You do know that some men have experienced less in the military and still suffer from PTSD issues, or don't you?
It may help to research and study history. Women have been in combat for centuries! Whether disguised as men, of just fighting in just about every position from front line to supporting roles. Just because the facts are not widely shared or made available does not mean it didn't happen. Do your own research!

Definitely women are different. She probably didn't have to hump round to chuck them. But to say trauma isn't relative is idiotic. Maybe they shouldn't be in combat units. I would agree. But she is and experienced that
