Just started doing walking videos with my pocket 3.. I am already walking and exploring and great to make side profit from this once i meet all the requirements of youtube.. Whether i make money or not atleast I got memories.
Thanks God for your channel, finally somebody talking about filming and earning on walking tours 🤩 I have Pocket 3, too. It's INCREDIBLY high quality, next level! ❤
I've been using the Pocket 3 on full auto (aka amateur mode) and already made some adsense money for my travel tips channel, thank you for your tips and will give it a go for my next videos
Hi, love the video and very helpful. I would like to please know how long does the battery last and where do you keep the microphone when recording. Thanks
Tried these settings today, I wouldn't recommend them in low cloudy conditions. In fact, I'd stick with default. Came out better. My footage came out duller than the day, with these settings. I'm sticking with the default, with a slight EV amendment. Trail and error.😅
We love you Simon, new subscriber here, as you mention, you didnt think this video would be so popular that it landed you more subscribers, well im one lol, I also have the pocket 3 and done every single video on the pocket 2 and now 3, my second channel called "West yorshire Traveller" and im on 945 subscribers, not long for 1k now, the settings you showed here are interesting, i take it you dont use ND filters when its not a sunny day correct? do you recommed D-log-M? or normal colour? love to see your edits.
Yes it will. Depends how smooth the terrain is through. I wouldn't risk the jolts from the bike damaging the gimbal. Would recommend the Peak Design capture clip with adapter and wear it instead.
What microphone did you use for your walking videos? Would the wireless mic it comes with be able to pick up ambient sounds? The in body mics probably pick up a lot of wind noise
Great video! Can you do a video on how you hold the DJI Osmo 3 to prevent bouncing? Also for how long can you video record 4K 60 fps before you run out of battery? Thank you!!!
100% Wireless Mic 2 with dead cat outdoors. If you are indoors then the built in mics are fine as long as you don't move your hand around over the mics.
Thanks. I shot at 60fps as I didn't have any ND's at the time. It was the only frame rate where I could the 180 shutter without the image blown out. If i'd shot in 24fps 180 then the image would have been almost / completely blown out. I also like 60 as it give a more real immersive feel / look.
@@TravelandStreet Thank you for the information. I've seen a few content creators that use 60 fps. I'm going to be experimenting before I embark on this journey.

Since I like to travel and have a good utube channel, I want to add high quality walking videos to my channel and give it more creative, informative, and fun for audiences.
It does however there are not many that allow you to keep the filter on in the locked position. I went through a few sets and settled on the one I featured. Link in description. Do you use all of the 14 filters in that set? Does the Pocket 3 close with a filter still attached?
@@TravelandStreet Unfortunately due to the gimbal. It doesn't go into full lock. However, I use the Scotty Makes Stuff Pro Case and the top has more than enough space. When it comes to that filter set. There were a couple considerations. The price was really good and the second was prophylactic. I'd rather have them and not need them. Then need them and not have them.
I'd love to see an editing video! I'm editing my first walking tour video as we speak, lol. Any reason you prefer "follow" instead of "tilt lock" for the gimbal? And does manually choosing certain settings make a significant difference over the auto settings?
Manual settings with auto ISO is the perfect setup. This way you get the correct shutter speed with your frame rate. You'll most probably need to use ND filters if you shoot at 24p. I agree though that the default settings are pretty good also. Just if you want a more pro look that's when you start dialing in all the manual settings.
Thanks for the tutorial. I'm thinking of doing walking tours too. How do you reduce the Z axis shake? Do you have to do ninja walk for the whole walk? And do you recommend using a wide angle lens on the DJI Pocket 3? Thanks.
I would suggest focussing on things that are interesting to you. Imagine you are watching the same video in 10 years time looking back on a place you once visited or lived. Try and capture things that will have a noticeable change in 10 years time. Cars, Transport, people, buildings. Also the camera you film on will be of interest to people in the future so list that. Find your own unique twist and vision but don't over think it. Sometimes you don't need a plan just go out press record and walk. Hope that was of some help.
If it were all about UA-cam then you'd need around 25k Subs to get really going. It's taken me 2 years almost full-time to get to where I am. Most of my income comes through affiliate marketing and digital sales. I currently work across 3 channels, It's hard work but also very rewarding. When brands start sending you boxes and boxes of gear for review thats when you know it's starting to pay off. I highly recommend finding something you really enjoy and making videos about it. Don't think so much about the financial reward to begin with, just enjoy the journey and the people you meet along the way. Everything else will find you in time. Best of luck!
Hey, I started making videos doing just this with my new DJI Osmo Pocket 3 which I haven't edited and posted yet. (Got a lot of footage saved up to go through first) but I'm wondering if it would be too different of a format for my subscribers if I normally do travel vlogs if I also put these videos up, or is it better to have a new channel that ONLY does walking videos? I was wondering what your thoughts were on that. (I'm leaning towards putting it on my main channel because it IS travel related) Also, can you explain why you use the settings you do instead of using auto for exposure and stuff? I have always used auto and don't have ND filters and I think the footage looks great for me. One last question! Lol I use 30fps for everything because thats what i shoot my vlogs with so if I want to use some of my walking footage for b roll while doing a talking head portion, it'll match. Is it jarring to the viewer if it's in a different frameate, or when I export it, it'll bwcome either 30fps or 60fps depending on ny settings? (Hope this made sense, lmk if you need more clarification)
What are the benefits of using 60 fps over lets say what I use 25 fps (Sweden, 24 isn't available here)? Doesn't that just create massive file sizes? Everyone says 24/25 fps is the best because thats what films are shot in and how the human eye perceives things. So why 60?
Did tweak the auto focus at all? I heard it can bounce around a lot especially with people moving infront of you. Waiting for my Osmo Pocket 3 to arrive on Tuesday
Very good question but 60fps is very common with this type of content mainly to give it that hyper real feel. I will be experimenting with 24fps soon to see how much of a look and feel difference it gives.
@@TravelandStreet Ahh. I see. I only have 205 subscribers at the moment. But, maybe if I start creating walking tours for Los Angeles near me I can grow my subscriber count.

You really don't get much attention or people noticing it. If you walk and look at your phone it's pretty much the same position so people don't really notice the difference.

Hi, Sorry it wasn't clear enough. Walking tours are one of the quickest ways of getting monetized on UA-cam. The platform favours long form content due to the ads they distribute throughout. The ads are where people make there money and from multiple ads comes a quick passive income. I'm purely sharing the way you can get setup and out filming this type of content so you can too benefit from a side hustle. The camera pays for itself fairly quickly and filming on the pocket 3 means you don't have to carry around a big gimbal system. 100% DJI Mic 2 with a wind muff is the best with the Pocket 3. Even better if you have 2 and record in stereo it becomes even more immersive.

100% Wireless Mic 2 with dead cat outdoors. If you are indoors then the built in mics are fine as long as you don't move your hand around over the mics.

Just hold it and walk slowly. The camera does most of the smoothing work
Do you just hold it or do you use some sort of harness? May be a bit tiring if you hold it.

Not at all. Just use your arm as a stabilizer
With regard to the wide angle, I don't use it as you can't easily put NDs on at the same time. I feel the camera is wide enough on its own.
Everyone always go over the settings but no one ever shows us how to position on the body like where does it go? But thanks for the video!!
You just hold the camera normally. You don't put it on your body. The gimbal does the smoothing
