It's grest to hear someone appreciate the built in mic quality of the Pocket 3. It doesn't often get mentioned. It is also worth mentioning that the camera can record external mics and the internals on separate tracks for later mixing. It's a four track audio recorder which also happens to do video! The small base is great for attaching to a tripod allowing the P3 to be clipped on and off instantly, and when attached to the camera it provides a better grip if not using the battery handle. On its own the P3 is so tiny to hold. Now I will check out your Amsterdam video. In the last century (!) I used to engineer classical music recordings there from time to time. Now I live in Australia so I can no longer pop over to Amsterdam from London!
I just got mine and I love it for all the reasons Keegan stated. I have the original (large) DJI Osmo and have had a lot of fun with it but now - WOW - move over Spielberg. I also got the combo kit and a set of K&F filters. ND filters are a must have to increase this little monsters dynamic range. 90% of the time I'm shooting in D-Log M but with only two changes to the factory mode, anybody can shoot amazing footage. Those two changes are sharpness to -2 and noise reduction to -2 as Keegan points out. You can save up to five different modes which comes in handy when I'm changing environments on the fly. I give this little camera a 5/5 and two thumbs up! Don't let the size fool you. Wait until you try the two modes of panoramic picture taking. Yes, this little monster takes great pictures too. On DJI's site, I downloaded their D-Log M to Rec.709 color grading LUT that I recommend you get. Happy trails, Keegan, keep up the good work.

You can do anything with the pocket 3. The only downside for me is the out of focus background. I actually don’t like that. Pocket 2 is better in that regard.
@@KeeganRobin I'm stating the obvious... but there's basically 2 camps... those that maybe come from more of a photography background and like that "bokeh" look... and those that are more action cam oriented and prefer everything in focus. I don't think there's a right or wrong... just personal preference. I mean some people literally pay hundreds of dollars for a single lens on full frame cameras that produce that blur/bokeh so there's certainly a market for that "look" out there. DJI seems like a decent compromise... you can get that blur in the vlogging/selfie format but flip it around and you can still get those clear shots of scenery/landscapes etc.
Hi! I have the OP3 but feel like my colors are undersaturated and I am losing color. Do you have any advice on how to get color back? Is there a specific setting I should be shooting in?
It must in D log M. Turn off the log setting if youre not into editing post production. Since you need to convert it into Rec 709 profile and tweak the color as you like or apply LUTs

Quick question to the comment floor: I've been looking at getting a camera like this for some time. I have a small family and would love to be able to record short videos without really needing to 'think' about the equipment (hands off being in the moment). However, as with most video/photo equipment, you need time after the fact to put in to 'developing' the footage/photos.. and I don't have that luxury any more. Would this be a good video capturing device for me given the above?
Absolutely. That’s what I love most about it. No distractions just shoot and put it away. I like it better than my phone because I shoot so much that my phone battery dies super quickly in the day but now that i shoot with the Osmo pocket the battery lasts all day
@@KeeganRobin thanks for the replies! I might look at selling some old gear to fund the purchase. I am a little reluctant to buy now because the Pocket 3 was released November last year so there may be a new one around the corner that would either be better (probably not with how iterative tech is these days) or push the price down of the Pocket 3.

Hi, I have one question, would you mind helping me? I just bought this new Osmo Pocket 3 from B&H. I have tested with two resolution 4K60 and 2.7K60 results are very disappointed. The video does not run smooth. It runs for about 2, 3 seconds then suddenly it speeds up for 1 second, then it runs normal again, then few seconds after it speeds up again. It is something like you are walking normal for few seconds then you run for few seconds, then you walk normal again, it repeats again and again. How can I fix it? What did I miss? Thanks a lot for your help.
it's not an action cam. if you have your pro camera on a Ronin gimbal you're going to be careful with it - the OP3 is no different. if you want durability get the osmo action
@@KeeganRobin Yep. It already exists on their less “professional” Action series and yet hasn’t been on the Pocket in all these years since the first one. Don’t understand why it’s so difficult. 🤷♂️

Quick question to the comment floor:
I've been looking at getting a camera like this for some time.
I like it better than my phone because I shoot so much that my phone battery dies super quickly in the day but now that i shoot with the Osmo pocket the battery lasts all day
And if you use the Osmo pocket three app, you can quickly transfer all of the images to your phone to have an apple or Google Photos
I would like for it to be able to set the setting to manual as well.
You can do full manual controls on it
Na filmach innych widzę, że w ustawieniach Normal mają po prostu Normal u mnie jest Normal 10bit. Czy to oznacza, że mam teraz bogatsze kolory? coś jak po koloryzacji w D-log M?
What about the optical zoom & selfie stick with remote control. I would expect at least 10x optical zoom
Expect less for the price and form factor.
All the way from Kenya Nairobi. Would you kindly advise me on what the BEST, BEEST, tripod you use for DJI, please ?! - For outdoors and indoors, something light
Maybe you can check from Ulanzi MT-79 travel, I bought one for traveling and it's been great for indoors and outdoors..
@sxnkiss8887 Thank you a milli. Am glad someone replied. You've been of great help.
Excellent! Thanks 👍
you got it

watching from Dhaka Bangladesh
welcome !
Your video is very nice.
May I know what software you use to grade the footage? Thanks
Resolve 💪🏻
Good point!
Nice video I love the freedom of van life. Are you touring in Europe with you're U.S plate van? or do you lived up there in Europe? How much did you pay to transport you're van on the ship?
hey, I rented the Van in France when I went over there. but definitely hoping to convert my own van up in canada
@@KeeganRobin Oo I see. I'm getting off road van and convert it into tidy home
Thanks!
I have the 2.35:1 aspect ratio set & 16:9, but don't see the "black bars (crop)" Is there another setting that I forgot?
It’s just a simple guide line, you have to add the bars in editing
@@KeeganRobinYes but too faint. A complete blackout would be preferable
You can grid!
Any Chance on getring our Hands on your Powergrade ? 😃
Oooh maybe! I’d like to make a video about editing this project. So I could likely do it from there.
done! bit.ly/3B5pmb7 the LUT is also available for free :)
When I leave my battery base on, it drains it even if the camera is fully charged. I only use the battery base when my camera battery is low. Anyone seeing this issue?
Awesome
Wow!
I thought that small attachment was an extra battery?
No there’s a separate battery attachment and it’s a bit bigger.
@@KeeganRobin Thanks
Hi,
I have one question, would you mind helping me? I just bought this new Osmo Pocket 3 from B&H. I have tested with two resolution 4K60 and 2.7K60 results are very disappointed. The video does not run smooth. It runs for about 2, 3 seconds then suddenly it speeds up for 1 second, then it runs normal again, then few seconds after it speeds up again. It is something like you are walking normal for few seconds then you run for few seconds, then you walk normal again, it repeats again and again. How can I fix it? What did I miss? Thanks a lot for your help.
Isn’t it fragile and gimbal easy to break
it's not an action cam. if you have your pro camera on a Ronin gimbal you're going to be careful with it - the OP3 is no different. if you want durability get the osmo action
It’s not an action camera
I have seen a few on eBay described as parts only. I don’t use mine as an action camera but I’m aware how easy it would be to damage
@@shahidwiggins ya don’t say
Not easy to break if you don't try to break it or careless. If you want to be bit rough get like an action camera
Can anyone of you can tell how to grade the colour , does osmo provide any software
Plz reply anyone
yes you can find the conversion LUT on the DJI website
Also no auto exposure lock on the camera itself yet can be done in the phone app. 🤦♂️
They could easily add a few things in a firmware update and it would be practically perfect.
@@KeeganRobin Yep. It already exists on their less “professional” Action series and yet hasn’t been on the Pocket in all these years since the first one. Don’t understand why it’s so difficult. 🤷♂️
The link Lut Amsterdam doesn’t work !
fixed! thanks for letting me know
How is action 5 pro with pocket 3
These are two different cameras, for different purposes. You don't use it with each other
@@duckmeat4674 these days action cameras are doing great even at night which is the big pro of pocket 3. Will wait for ace 2 pro
I really would like that they add false colors.
Good advertising 👍
Thanks DJI didn’t even pay me lol
I like how inconspicuous it is.
nice
Color recovery would be nice too. Also d-log M IS NOT log . Would be nice to have the same Log profile recognized by Davinci color profile like the Mavic 3 log.
The main thing I don't like it's very poor quality when you zoom in
yeah, it's just a simple digital zoom, i would avoid at all times
