      Pretty sure that is part of the plan. If Kristian turned in decidedly average numbers would the camera be left just long enough for watchers with physiology knowledge to glean the fact he’s in fantastic aerobic shape? If the numbers had come in March maybe episode 3 would have been then! He will be a force in Paris.

    The has undertones of Olaf Tufte the Norwegian Olympic single sculls champion in 2004 & 2008. Noteably when defended in 2008 he was not necessarily the favourite. He completed a monster block of training to create an incredible peak. If memory serves correct he was still tapering during the heats in the Olympics. Come the final he hit monumental peak from super compensation beating bigger men who were (wrongly) more fancied. Alex Yee has remarkable foot speed over 5km and is probably the best exponent in triathlon 10kn ever… but the engine being built here is insane. If they stay fit and healthy can Blumenfelt take Yee to a very dark place after 6km of the run in a 1hr 40min event. Is Kristian fast enough to beat the 13:50 5km time he completed in the Tokyo build, this video suggests that trajectory. Whatever happens they know what they’re doing and providing they can time the peak right we are perhaps set for the fastest 10km ever in a triathlon. If Kristian wins he will be game on for GOAT status… all to play for!

    Nice to see you guys training in my home country, I have so many memories of Oukaïmeden but I have never ridden up there on a bike... I hope Gustav is going to get better soon, I struggled with Achilles myself & found that shock waves work well with some strengthening and also keeping running short distances sub-pain level. I'm sure they know all that though. Regarding Blu, the whole challenge is going to be to keep him injury/illness free until this summer. He's my favourite for the win but Id like to see a French guy do well too 😉

    Is that 7700ml vo2 number at the start right? Surley not that would be absolutely absurd. As in realative vo2 max of 101 at 75kg sought of absurd. I can’t believe that, if so they need to publish a multi year long study on what they did to improve it to that because that’s incredible

      7,7 L/min. VO2. Come on. Same as saying the Earth is flat 😎 could be errant breath…. But if you do the math and use typical values for running economy and %vo2 for a maraton This should make a maraton in fresh State of around 1 hour and 40 min….

    • @miguelpfeffermann
      @miguelpfeffermann 5 місяців тому +5

      7700ml might be the absolute highest VO2 number from the test. Usually you take the value of the highest 30second average as a reproducable VO2Max. But I’m not sure and the numbers are insane nonetheless. Even if he most likely weighs something in the high 70s.

Just a curiosity if you don't train at zone 2 level but close ( slower )to your Lactic threshold and include speed work accounting for 20% of the time, will you have more benefits?
