These guys are absolutely amazing athletes, hard workers, and have a great coach to build them into winning machines. I hope that other elite endurance coaches are taking note and trying to figure out what these guys are doing to become so successful.

I wish them a good mentality when it comes to the point when they will loose their strength and realize this by aging, honestly spoken. Condor

Interesting…2 remarks - and I’m eager to get anyone’s comments about it. 1) “we want more drag during the swim with the suit …” not really sure about this assertion 2) I think that in Paris - if they qualify- it will all come down to who is able to clock a sub 29 10k. All of this with a chaotic start from T2 and with the ability to have a monster kick for the final 400 meters. Will they be able to do that? As of today, it seems unlikely against Yee Wilde and some French guys. But time will tell:-)

Hi Vincent, just wanted to come back to you on your question. On your first around drag, it’s the way the interview has been cut. Olav is talking about more drag in the forearm when a swimmer pulls through from the catch. Clearly we want a little drag elsewhere. Does that make sense?

Your body uses a different amount of calories to travel 1km at 10kph than at 50kph. Many things factor into it. Speed, power, what energy systems are being used, etc.
So what he’s saying is that by using the vo2 master he can figure out how many cals they use to swim at 1:15 per hundred as opposed to 1:40 per hundred, and then calculate load with distance + Intensity considered
