      Haven't read the book, but going to their website they have a testimonial by a Dr Grant, whose photo just happens to be the actor Jimmy Smits! So I'll go ahead and call BS on the book if the website itself already looks like a scam lol.

    Played rugby for 20 years….Love your content….I was primarily a powerlifter throughout my life….Now in my 60’s I have gone with a 10, 20, 30 cycle four to five times a week….10 minutes of stretching, 20 minutes of kettle bell and 30 or more minutes of walking….lost 12 pounds in 5 months…I also do intermittent fasting….5’ 11” and 214 pds now and have a very lean look….honestly the only small amount of fat I have is in the lat area…working on it but that last bit is the hardest…

    A method that works for me is eating small meals every 4 hours up to 6-7 meals a day and cycling plus light weight training. I am a disabled veteran and I’m now back to Marine Corps weight standards. Last time I weighed that amount was in 2008. Diet had to be healthy and balanced.

    It's true! Once I decreased my cardio, I lost the weight! I was doing way too much cardio until I pulled my hamstring and groin. I had to stop doing cardio and could only do weights and that's when I lost the weight! Once I healed, I didn't go back to doing a ton of cardio and the weight had stayed off by doing just a little cardio and my usual weights

    One of the best pieces of advice that I received on exercise is three things: (I got this from a doctor at Stanford) 1) do not spike dopamine right before a workout. don't get all nervous and pumped. 2) raise dopamine evenly during exercise by enjoying the process. focus on the process of exercise, not the outcomes. that avoids spiking dopamine and cortisol. but, still push yourself. see how much you can do - but in a fun way. 3) don't take in alcohol, porn, or binge-watching TV --- those things also spike dopamine.
    I started just enjoying the exercise and doing fun things. Adding a ruck to my workout has led to some really fun workouts. And I've done some hikes that I would never have done when I was focussed on outcomes. Find something fun that you really enjoy. last winter it was x-country skiing. this winter, I'm going to travel some. and don't focus on outcomes.

    Health is not all about fat reduction and being on the move all the time. Obviously strengthening your body first with exercise and high quality diet is the key to keep unnecessary weight off permanently. If you hurt yourself because of a weak body, that's never going to help with the fat composition thing.

      At least 60-120 mins per week, also at least for 20 minutes with 20 minute breaks. Seems to be the most ideal or optimal
      FYI or pro tip, make sure to drink at least half your body weight in oz of water or 2/3 (.66) is best. (W x .66= Oz of water).
      Hope this is helpful! Can also look up ice bathes or cold showers help your body too!

    Most people concerned with their weight have probably been dieting for years. That means a lot of them are under eating. When weight loss stalls the first thing to check is make sure you're eating enough. There are countless people who have stalled at eight hundred calories a day.

    If a person, especially, a woman has dieted most of their life and yo-yo'd, the metabolism is shot. One may lose 10 pounds but if youre not consistently decreasing calories until your practically fasting and increasing calorie burning, that 10 pounds will come back.
    There is really nothing anyone can do once metabolism is severely compromised.

    • @helenahandkart1857

      It can change, but very slowly at first, & usually the first focus has to be simply on regular ie, 3x daily, high density lowish carb nutrition, with a moderate overnight fast. Hydration, & moderate daily activity increasing strength. Health basics first. Once health gains are kicked in & stable, Weight loss much later.

    • @richardmiddleton7770
      @richardmiddleton7770 19 днів тому

      This is where reverse dieting comes in. You actually have to purposefully gain weight. This has to be done with clean food, not junk though. You also have to resistance train at the same time and do more low intensity cardio. Stay away from high intensity long duration cardio.

    • @RoyaDani

    • @JasonBuckman
      @JasonBuckman 21 день тому +1

      Not usually a good choice. Liposuction lowers the number of fat cells you have, which is not what you want to do. You want to reduce the size of your fat cells, not how many you have.

    There's no such thing as too much cardio, just too much high intensity cardio! Athletes train 20 hours a week but at least 80% is low intensity in zone 1-2 (5-6 zone model). NEVER CONFUSE QUOTED 'ZONES' WITH THE 3 ZONE MODEL! The 3 zone model is based on blood lactate levels which you can only know from getting a lab lactate test. When you hear "zone 2" it is always from the 5-6 zone model and is always refering to low intensity, like, just above your walking heart rate by around 20 beats.

    You don't count the age...way more difficult after 45 years old... I was able to control my fat until turning this age point...not sure why such big impact even do I am one one meal a day. And no carbs... stubborn fat gained from my past vacation doesn't want to leave me anymore... unbelievable how age affect the loss of stubborn fat even if I walk 20 to 30k step per day....and I am 100% natural never took any PED or creatine or protein milkshake only real food intake with bunch of meat and broccoli and spinach and only one fruit per day...lemon is my favorite...anyway age sucks when you are 100% natural...without any vitamins in pills or others substances...

      I find periodic 72 hour fasts really dislodge a stubborn plateau. And a lot of people who find their weight won’t budge do ADF (alternate day fasting). I do a relatively high protein diet when I’m not in the fasting window and stay hydrated. Colleen Marie Cares UA-cam channel has a lot about ADF and a community you can join to get feedback and help with the process.

Plateaus are PROOF that the law of thermodynamics is either flawed, or not applicable to human bodies. Sorry, but you can’t have it both ways. Stop preaching about the law of thermodynamics and maybe I’ll listen to your opinions on how to break a plateau.
