Can you make a video where you use drugstore eyeliners, liquid liners, and/or brow pencils to draw a picture? The "Makeup as Art Supplies Challenge" haha. Or also use cream products such as foundation and blush for parts of the drawing?
FoxyWaffle Gamer one of my friends scribbled on my pixel art drawing in pen, i wouldn't have mind so much if it wasn't on the actual drawing... another time she ripped the page a little (on a different drawing that took HOURS to do) i had to cut the picture out and i was mad at her...
ComicBook Geek, Exactly just like the first person who bought Canson bleedproof he/she was obviously trying to check it out just like when a new product is released. Experience before decision
Thank you for this one! I had an idea for you Baylee Jae, you should make a fairly long video on how to start a online store with packaging, pricing tips etc. I'd love that!
I've never really been obsessed with what exact art supplies my favorite artists are using but I did get into copics from these videos. Before I got any I did lots of research and watched tons of videos on it. I'm so happy I got them.
That's a good tip about the sketchbook! I have a perforated sketchbook too and haven't even thought of tearing out the page to transfer it to canvas/painting paper and then taping it back in.
sketchbooks, Prisma & various color pencils, copic markers, pigma micron, watercolor paint & pencils, Faber Castell pencil like eraser, Other erasers, cheap tracing light box, and that's it! ~Yule Additional edit: gel pens, copic multiliners, Faber Castell color and watercolor pencils, other liner pens, dip pens, drawing ink, white ink, acrylic paint, glitter, washi tape, and col-erase pencils
I'm also left handed and I hate using coil sketchbooks, so what I do is flip it upside down so the coil is on the right side instead of the left. It's just a useful tip I thought you would like
I find the X-press it paper is THE best to use with Copic markers, and I've tried so many of them. The electric eraser is crazy! it throws all the pieces all over, but a lot of fun and does the job :) Thanks for sharing! it's always fun to see what other artists use. since I started my drawing channel with you being my inspiration, I have a lot of the art supplies that you have :)
McKayla Karnes when you consider that most artist grade and professional watercolors can cost anywhere from 70 bucks to 400 bucks for a set, thirty bucks is nothing. And that's not even factoring in the cost for good brushes and paper.
Right now I have a pencil sharpener, copy paper, twelve colored pencils, a ten pack of markers, and twenty-four crayons. That is my entire collection.
I'm certain there are folks who feel that if they have your same products they will create art as well as you do. And I'm also certain some of us just want to try new stuff but don't want to waste money on something sub par. A pencil that's rough, a marker that has no pigment, a paper that pills. In the world of art video reviews by artists or their recommendations are, in some cases, the only resource one has for viable, accurate research! Where I live we have nearly no art supply stores, I have to travel an hour for an arts and craft store and no classes besides sip and paints (fun but in my experience the programs are very basic and the owners have less art knowledge and more business sense). It's like trying to find new music with only one radio station that only plays new music every few days. LOL So please, keep sharing what you use. Not because we want a quick quotes quill that will guarantee us perfect art every time but because when we see that quill in action we may just learn if we will love it or hate it!
I just wanna say that if you can't afford Photoshop, Lazy nezmui and the colour wheel, that Paint Tool SAI is an excellent cheaper alternative to Photoshop :)
Ciel_Dragneel 1324 the pen comes with the drawing tablet so you have the tablet and draw on it with the pen that comes with it but it only works woth the tablet you got
Buddy Amazing yeah but i know they have some places that sell it separately i just wanted to know if you knew if not then does the pen have a specific name
+Ciel_Dragneel 1324 doesnt really work like that. A certain drawing tablet pen goes akin to its tablet. Theres no uh. Special pen thats goes with whatever
When you get a new sketch book Me: caresses the paper Also me: flips through it examining almost every page Edit: just remembered how I turn my kneaded erasers into animals
you should put a sticker of your 'logo' on top of the Martha Stewart symbol thing bc it appears in almost every video and it would be an easy way for new viewers to catch onto and remeber
When you were talking about colored pencils, you said that the Prismas break easily. If one pencil is constantly breaking, you can put it in the microwave for about 30 seconds to melt te wax inside to make it all one piece. Hope this helps >U
for the coiled sketchbooks since your lefthanded turn the book upside down and draw with it that way, so the coils don't get in the way or annoy your wrist while working. I hope this tip helped
I bought one SP liner once and I found that the nib literally got pushed back into the metal barrel. I don't know if I was pushing too hard (I can be a little.....not gentle), but I bought a normal Copic liner, and it was fine. Even the other pens I had before were fine. I had a normal Copic liner set for months and they still look good as new.
Another light box alternative is celetaping you sketch to the window (permission off parents) and then stick the other paper on top. I used this when I was younger and it worked 90% of the time!!
That is so true that art supplies don't equal good art, and thank you for saying it. I've made some of my favorite paintings with a Crayola watercolor set. However, I've definitely been guilty of the art supply obsession thing, but it's really a distraction from improving your skills sometime. Really good insight. Great vid! :3
a thing I've tried with coiled sketchbooks is drawing upside down. it might look weird, but it makes drawing 10x easier! that way the coils are on the opposite side of your hand.
I needed a mechanical eraser for my cartoon drawings. This video really helped me find the brand I wanted. I was already looking at that eraser and this video helped me find the brand of them.
Im a lefty as well and I have major problems with the spiral. Try starting from the back of the book! It a lot easier and you get the convenience of the spiral! I love your videos! Im so jealous of your talents! :)
+Schwarzer Ritter Maybe not upside down but if you use the book the wrong way, having it open left to right, would be a bit wierd but would work and solve the coil problem:)
If you are looking for some new coloured pencils. Then I would suggest the Derwent Artist coloured pencils, they are amazing!! They have just the right level of hardness, this means that they are able to keep a point, while still being some what bendable! Hope this helps Baylee, or anyone else for that matter.
Your past few vlogs have been all about this video. I actually just yelled "Baylee Jae posted a video! Shhh!" Any who, I was really excited to watch this video. And, I love the custom animations you made! 😘😍
Now that I love art tomorrow (in 2 hours) I'm gonna bring my mini composition book, mechanical pencil and that cheap blue pen j got from dollar general.
if you still have trouble with the prismacolor pencils you can stick them in the microwave for a few seconds to melt and solidify them so they won't break as often. key is to only do it for a few seconds.
Hello Miss Balyee Jae! I have the opportunity to get Copic markers at about 2.99 each.... do you think this is a good deal for them? I just watched your Copic marker alternative video and the more I see them used the more i want to get them. Thanks so much for your inspiring work! I love to watching your videos!
+Baylee Jae hello there . i love your video more than anything. i am buying copics for the first time because i am 12 . could you please tell me how long each will last with and without refill ??
Hi Baylee, I've been binge watching your videos 2 days straight! I honestly am not amazing at art and i'd been told throughout my younger life that you have to be ''born'' with a gift to be able to produce good quality Art. I know that is terrible but it'd be really helpful from an artist like yourself if you could create a tutorial for shading or sketching :) If you already have some, I'll have a look further for them but it'd be really helpful and awesome! Thanks for producing such amazing works of art/very entertaining videos to watch xD
Agh! I just saw the Copic Multiliners at Michael's. I tried them on the extra paper and they dry INSTANTLY. Also, the lines are really precise. The only problems I have is that they don't feel very secure. Thanks for the video.
Really interesting to watch, I'm definitely going to have to invest in that blending card when I start buying markers I think. And yes polychromos are awesome, they are primarily what I use. I have the 120 set of prismacolors as well, but I prefer the hardness of polychromos and tend to lean towards them more.
I just wanted to tell you that a brand called Bazic. Bazoc is awesome the sketch pencils have varieties of shades in lid. There are also more Art stuff so yeah. It is not the best they are awesome. And the good thing is that Bazic is a dollar store brand meaning that they are mostly sold in dollar stores.
11:44 Baylee, the Premier pencils have a soft lead on purpose, so I would suggest the Scholar pencils because of they have the harder lead and they are easier to sharpen to a point.
me: :buys a 26$ sketchbook/sketchpad: Well thats too "bright", i cant draw in this, ill put it on my highest shelf and proudly look at it every day and think why i even bought it :,)
I have the same sketchbook as you, but smaller!! I am right handed, and I've been looking for a sketchbook with coils forever until I found that one!! Hahahahaha
If you don't like the coil, you could turn the sketchbook over and work from the back of the sketchbook to the front, so the coil doesn't get in the way of your hand. If you know what manga is, then that's the way that the books are oriented. I hope you see this! :) I also wanted to say that I LOVE your artwork!!! And I wanted to recommend that you do a Q&A video. :3
you inspired me to get an art desk to hold my pro markers. I'm my mind you are a better artist then picasso i am pretty sure i spelled that wrong you are amazing keep doing what your doing. my eyes don't see any dislikes if i could i will give you a million likes i would. i wasn't over reacting about the picasso thing. oh and you make me laugh thank you
I have the same XL notebook! I just don't have the watercolor one. I have a really small notebook, I forgot what it's called though. i just thought it was really awesome that I had something the same as you. you're awesome!
Instead of using photoshop i use the sketchbook pro... I highly recommend that u give it a try.... And the colors are sponsored by Copic and have the exact same colors.... U can get it free in the Google play store and the app store... 😀😁
I actually prefer spiral bound over hard bound because it opens 360 degrees and most of the time you can rip it out easily! But I have both hard bound and spiral bound! Even though I have had issues with spirals coming out hehe!
12:37 you got your water colour for 35$! I live in Prince George bc (so pretty much near Vancouver) and I went to speedos and found a great colour selection for like 3 bucks. I do mix them on a small metal plate with indents. The brown sucks though.
Can you make a video where you use drugstore eyeliners, liquid liners, and/or brow pencils to draw a picture? The "Makeup as Art Supplies Challenge" haha. Or also use cream products such as foundation and blush for parts of the drawing?
That's a great idea
YESS DO THIS BAYLEE
That sounds awesome! Please do it Baylee!
+Samantha Wittman
hello there
THIS CHALLENGE NEEDS TO HAPPEN NOW!!!!😆😆😆 Go on her latest video and comment this plz
The worst thing that's EVER happened to me is that my so called friend wrote hi on a drawing I did that I really liked.AND SHE WROTE IN IN MARKER😤😤😤
FoxyWaffle Gamer did you kill her?
FoxyWaffle Gamer oh my gosh I hate people that do that... My friends wrote around my drawing IN PENCI, and I didn't speak to them for a week XD
FoxyWaffle Gamer one of my friends scribbled on my pixel art drawing in pen, i wouldn't have mind so much if it wasn't on the actual drawing... another time she ripped the page a little (on a different drawing that took HOURS to do) i had to cut the picture out and i was mad at her...
i would actually murder them.... what made it worst was that it was NEW
Melody Jayne

Do supplies I regret buyig
Nayyab Salman YESSS

Nayyab Salman when she said it does not matter what you buy
ComicBook Geek, Exactly just like the first person who bought Canson bleedproof he/she was obviously trying to check it out just like when a new product is released. Experience before decision
2:00 you can flip the notebook and start from the end of it, then boom, its a left-handed sketchbook
It is :)
Thank you for this one! I had an idea for you Baylee Jae, you should make a fairly long video on how to start a online store with packaging, pricing tips etc. I'd love that!
It's already on my to do list :)
*party* Glad to hear! :) Thanks for always responding Baylee.
+Baylee Jae can u do a sketchbook tour again????
+Baylee Jae can u pls draw my avatar I would really love it!

Where do you get the eraser
Lydia Rusin i got mine at blick.
Lydia Rusin got it from ebay long time ago :)
Tali Shemes thanks!!
+Noya Telias honestlt, for art, online shopping is your best friend.
when she was saying that for watercolors didn't cost that much I was thinking I probably like 5 to $10 she said 30 and I laughed out loud
McKayla Karnes when you consider that most artist grade and professional watercolors can cost anywhere from 70 bucks to 400 bucks for a set, thirty bucks is nothing.
And that's not even factoring in the cost for good brushes and paper.
Same
If the coils bother you, can't you use it from the back towards the front? Hope that makes sense.. lol
Haru That's what my left-handed bf does, such a quick fix. :P
Haru Thats what I do! Though the coil usually breaks before that haha
The should make notebooks for left handed people
I agree!
Haru I was just about to comment this! :-P
My favourite pencil is a far short blue one from bic, yellow wood, definitely would recommend
Me: Pencils, eraser, sharpener and 9 markers. I just need some things like watercolour, charcoals and pen.
And and I want a electric eraser because it's just easier to get smaller pieces
Dang I see u every where
Right now I have a pencil sharpener, copy paper, twelve colored pencils, a ten pack of markers, and twenty-four crayons. That is my entire collection.
Illuminati I tell you.
iLLUMINATI.
No people if I'm everywhere your everywhere

do another 3 marker challenge with copics!!! those are my favorites
I just wanna say that if you can't afford Photoshop, Lazy nezmui and the colour wheel, that Paint Tool SAI is an excellent cheaper alternative to Photoshop :)
okay since i know that you use digital art stuffs do you know where i can get a pen that is used for digital art and how much it might cost
Ciel_Dragneel 1324 the pen comes with the drawing tablet so you have the tablet and draw on it with the pen that comes with it but it only works woth the tablet you got

ohh XD

I like knowing what other people use because Sometimes I like the way something looks, like the texture and stuff

Don't you have those white highlight pens? Like, if a girl's eye is too dull and you put that pen to make it pop..? Idk what they're called.
+Rebbecca Stone Ahhh, yes, my Gelly Roll pen. I forgot to show that.
Baylee Jae Yeah, that's what I was looking for. :)
omg me and you are both artist(i'm not a pro)and lefted handed

You should do an updated version of this Video as I feel like your most used art supplies have changed A LOT.
Same I'm left handed and the coil always hurts my hands when I draw
why don't you use the book from back to front instead?
+Anika Jensen I'll try it thanks for the advice
Anika Jensen yeah manga style
53 shaelle yeah me to :'(
same
I don't know why I love these types of videos so much, but I can't help my love of art supplies.
Another light box alternative is celetaping you sketch to the window (permission off parents) and then stick the other paper on top. I used this when I was younger and it worked 90% of the time!!

Baylee I'm obsessed with your videos!!!
am I the only one who goes to a art supplies place and then feel the paper of the sketch books and see which one you like??
Personally, I use whatever I can get ahold of, includinh 2 dollar sketch pencils, but my pride and joy are my 22 Copic Sketch Markers... I love them!
a thing I've tried with coiled sketchbooks is drawing upside down. it might look weird, but it makes drawing 10x easier! that way the coils are on the opposite side of your hand.
Your paint set looks like such a fun concept! Oil and water soluble? So awesome!!!
Great video Baylee! Really cool to see what you use! c:

If the coil bugs you maybe use the sketchbook upside down?
Stephanie Kron That does not work. I don't know why it doesn't work, but if it would, nobody would complain about the coils.
+Schwarzer Ritter Maybe not upside down but if you use the book the wrong way, having it open left to right, would be a bit wierd but would work and solve the coil problem:)
I actually buy plain black sketchbooks and just use them back to front so the coil is on the right side since I am a lefty.
If you are looking for some new coloured pencils. Then I would suggest the Derwent Artist coloured pencils, they are amazing!! They have just the right level of hardness, this means that they are able to keep a point, while still being some what bendable! Hope this helps Baylee, or anyone else for that matter.
YESSS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SINCE THE VLOG!
I had the biggest smile on my face when I saw the title of this video 😁
I just like the ink quality, so that's why I always look at what copics you use.
Your past few vlogs have been all about this video. I actually just yelled "Baylee Jae posted a video! Shhh!" Any who, I was really excited to watch this video. And, I love the custom animations you made! 😘😍
I don’t know why i was laughing at 2:05 i think it was just the hardback sletchbook slowly creeping into view
Nobody will care, but: if you're looking for a good inking pen, try Pilot razor sharp. It's beautiful.
I use certain pencils. I use 2H for sketches, F for writing, and 4B for darkening lines if I'm going to scan the drawing.
Now that I love art tomorrow (in 2 hours) I'm gonna bring my mini composition book, mechanical pencil and that cheap blue pen j got from dollar general.
*gasps* your left handed?!? SAME!!!? we are 2 of the 10% of the population 😀😀😀😜
kat nelson I'm left handed, my brother is, and two of my friends are
kat nelson make that three!
Im left handed👋
Im left handed and so is my twin ☺
if you still have trouble with the prismacolor pencils you can stick them in the microwave for a few seconds to melt and solidify them so they won't break as often. key is to only do it for a few seconds.
honestly, the bristol board is amazing with Copics. It blends well and doesn't bleed through the bottom
+Ashley Bagnoli Yes, that is an amazing deal!
That's an awesome deal!!!!!!
Thats an awesome deal. Get as much as you can! And if the refills are discounted get them too!
At hobby lobby I don't know if that is everywhere, but they were 20% off and you could use your 40% off cupon
+Baylee Jae
hello there . i love your video more than anything. i am buying copics for the first time because i am 12 . could you please tell me how long each will last with and without refill ??
This was very entertaining you should do this more
YESSS It feels like I've been waiting for this video forever
you forgot to say your white jellyroll pen
i use the pebeo watercolours !! i think they're really great!
Hi Baylee, I've been binge watching your videos 2 days straight! I honestly am not amazing at art and i'd been told throughout my younger life that you have to be ''born'' with a gift to be able to produce good quality Art. I know that is terrible but it'd be really helpful from an artist like yourself if you could create a tutorial for shading or sketching :)
If you already have some, I'll have a look further for them but it'd be really helpful and awesome!
Thanks for producing such amazing works of art/very entertaining videos to watch xD
already know this gonna be a good video :3
Baylee I love u! u inspire me so much my birthday is in April and all i asked for was art supplies and clothes
ooooo I recognize that first sketch in the first sketchbook, its one of the coloring pages and I really like it I tried to color it in
I have the exact same sketchbook that you showed first!!!!!!! ❤️ ❤️ 💛 💛 💚 💚 💙 💙 💜 💜
I love canson!~ I'm also left handed but the coils don't bother me :3
Agh! I just saw the Copic Multiliners at Michael's. I tried them on the extra paper and they dry INSTANTLY. Also, the lines are really precise. The only problems I have is that they don't feel very secure. Thanks for the video.
I've been waiting for this 😍
I use the Canson watercolor paper for every type of art just because I usually do pictures with copics, watercolors, and colored pencils
Really interesting to watch, I'm definitely going to have to invest in that blending card when I start buying markers I think. And yes polychromos are awesome, they are primarily what I use. I have the 120 set of prismacolors as well, but I prefer the hardness of polychromos and tend to lean towards them more.
Baylee, with the coil books you could just work from the back of the book and flip it upside down and this could work for anyone left handed
I just wanted to tell you that a brand called Bazic. Bazoc is awesome the sketch pencils have varieties of shades in lid. There are also more Art stuff so yeah. It is not the best they are awesome. And the good thing is that Bazic is a dollar store brand meaning that they are mostly sold in dollar stores.
would like new artists that draw house's and trees with people in them…
11:44 Baylee, the Premier pencils have a soft lead on purpose, so I would suggest the Scholar pencils because of they have the harder lead and they are easier to sharpen to a point.
with coil sketchbooks, you can turn it around so it opens like a manga book. it'll also confuse tf out of everyone.
I own Faber castell polychromos and they are simply amazing. You can get the finest point without breaking the pencil.
me: :buys a 26$ sketchbook/sketchpad: Well thats too "bright", i cant draw in this, ill put it on my highest shelf and proudly look at it every day and think why i even bought it :,)
I have the same sketchbook as you, but smaller!!
I also wanted to say that I LOVE your artwork!!! And I wanted to recommend that you do a Q&A video. :3
You should try the Faber-Castell polychomos at some point, they are amazing. Colors are vibrant.
you inspired me to get an art desk to hold my pro markers. I'm my mind you are a better artist then picasso i am pretty sure i spelled that wrong you are amazing keep doing what your doing. my eyes don't see any dislikes if i could i will give you a million likes i would. i wasn't over reacting about the picasso thing. oh and you make me laugh thank you
Yessssss I have always wanted you to do this video forever thanks so much for doing this video:)
HEY BAYLEE, THANK YOU FOR TRYING TO MAKE VIDEOS MORE OFTENLY. I LOVE WATCHING YOU DRAW, ALSO HOW DID YOU BECOME GOOD AT DRAWING? MYSTERY HUH?
can somebody donate me art supplies please
you're amazing!I LOVE YOU'RE ART TO BITS. bailee you rock
I am a very young artist and i know i can do anything if I believe it
Ok......
THATS THE SPIRIT!
+Nikatten • omg no everyone in my house is asleep and I'm trying not to make a sound, please don't make me laugh 😂😂😂
iam a young artist too but i have two masterpieces
I have the same XL notebook! I just don't have the watercolor one. I have a really small notebook, I forgot what it's called though. i just thought it was really awesome that I had something the same as you. you're awesome!
Although I am right handed I am annoyed by the spring bound sketchbook. Esp the ones with large springs....
Instead of using photoshop i use the sketchbook pro... I highly recommend that u give it a try.... And the colors are sponsored by Copic and have the exact same colors.... U can get it free in the Google play store and the app store... 😀😁
I have some Royal paint brushes as well, they are like my 'special' paintbrushes, I've only used them a few times, but their beautiful.
I use watercolor canson paper for copic marker alongside watercolor :p Because it was the most convenient.
Posted on my birthday ilysm baylee 😊😊
COOL I had a smaller version of that sketchbook before I got my current one.
to make a light box I put a light under a canvas not as bright but it still works and always press a bit on the spot your tracing
If you have a glass table you can also stick a light under it
I have a set of Faber Castel poly chromos. and they are my favorite thing to draw with! They work really well
I have that hard cover sketch book and it works pretty well
I actually prefer spiral bound over hard bound because it opens 360 degrees and most of the time you can rip it out easily! But I have both hard bound and spiral bound! Even though I have had issues with spirals coming out hehe!
You should check out Lachri Fine Art's video of Prismacolor Premier vs Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils.
I've always wondered what water colours you used! Hank you !!
If you want to keep using coil ring sketch books and you are left handed start from the back of the book so the rings are on the right.
Bayls can you do a sketchbook flipthrough sometime soon? I just love the raw sketches so much
OMG! Now i love you more because I'm left handed! And i love to draw!
12:37 you got your water colour for 35$! I live in Prince George bc (so pretty much near Vancouver) and I went to speedos and found a great colour selection for like 3 bucks. I do mix them on a small metal plate with indents. The brown sucks though.
I have a crayola light box, I use it a few times a week and I’ve had it for about 5 years and haven’t needed to replace the batteries
