I've been saying this to whoever would listen for years. However, wait to do week 2 & week 3. If the SEC continues to play 8 conf games and have that cupcake week, the week before Thanksgiving should fill up a challenge week. Week 2 & week 10. Then we would get to see games like Ohio State vs Tennessee with the elements of Ohio in November.
Having the big ten and sec only schedule each other is a terrible idea. You talked about having the little guy having a shot later in the show. Those 2 conferences only playing each other is the exact opposite of that. It will also kill college football. The sec and big make so much money because the whole of college football. You could easily make people stop caring. But the number one reason it will kill college football....The states that aren't in either of those conferences will immediately sue. They will go to government and have them strip their tax status. Which at that point they would have a point. Last the other conferences will say "cool....we are going to freeze you out of basketball". It would be bad all around.
Couldn’t agree more fellas. Be careful what you wish for. The more teams that are involved will mean higher viewership. The more teams you leave out……less viewership over time. Gotta keep CFB healthy.
Competitive imbalance is fine. Rest of the world in the most popular sport doesn't have competitive balance. Force the NFL to have farm teams and stop using mandatory 3 year service for young men in colleges to begin their professional careers. I like college football but stop pretending to talk about balance and fairness. If you want that then allow most of best players go pro as soon as they finish highschool, whether that be going to a farm team for a franchise or starting immediately for the NFL team.
Get rid of conferences. Divide the teams into tiers with relegation and promotion. If you want the piece of the pie then spend the money and have a good program. If you can't due to academic reasons or funds, well tough shit. Also get rid of out of conference games. They are terrible and a waste of time. None of the teams that are bottom dwellers in the the power 4 deserve to be there. They are just taking up space and cashing in a cheque.
Do you think the brand name schools would actually go for that? They're not doing this out of a sense of principle, they're doing it out od greed. The only reason they don't try to form a super league is because they know it would bleed fans. They don't have to respect anyone else, they hyst have to keep their fans invested in the system. I'd be fine with pro-rel, but that's not at all what they want. Don't delude yourself into thinking that this is about principle.
@@fighterck6241 Don't infer things I've never said. Anyways most decisions won't be made voluntarily but with them kicking and screaming (Just like how we are here with NIL). With no farm teams eventually labor laws will come in and allow players to go directly from high school or one and done or two and done players. There's simply no reason a player like Jeremiah Smith needs to be 3 years out of high school to be draft eligible.
@@haroldflashman4687 ok, I don’t gotta stop responding either. They shouldn’t do it because tradition. I’m tired of greed running the sport rather than the love of the game. What makes college football great is the upsets and randomness that can take place any given Saturday, fuck the money.
@ the big/wealthy schools owe small/not wealthy schools nothing. The problem is that the small schools have been subsidized by the big ones for so long that the small schools see it as their right! It’s not! Of anyone is being greedy it’s the small schools not the name brands!
@ it’s going to hurt small schools so badly. Think about how enrollment will get affected dude. Students want to go somewhere with a half decent football program at least, and by killing schools they’re essentially destroying that aspect of their school which attracts students. They can just fucking deal with it and help out, they have more than enough money. Stop being so greedy.

Why do the SEC/B1G have an obligation to schedule Big 13 and ACC? They can schedule anyone they like.
Stop shilling.

College football's biggest flaw was too many uncompetitive games. That is about to be remedied.
Nah.
