A look at the Big Ten - or should we say Big Eighteen? - as we rank every logo within college football's oldest and most historic conference!
Strap in for a lot of single letter logos, as the Big Ten is chock full of them. This conference features some of the most iconic institutions and football programs in America, so I encourage you to comment below which of these teams and logos is among your favorite! - Спорт
“I swear this is the last time I’ll say iconic”…. “This is one of the most iconic helmet designs” lol
Fun fact the Oregon O is styled after autzen stadium. If you place the Oregon O over the shape of autzen it will match.
It’s Autzen on the outside and Hayward field (track stadium) on the inside. Makes it even better!
Looks like a zero to me.
Michigan St is iconic, Indiana is brilliant minimalist, I'm a bit biased as an Iowa fan but I feel like Iowa is unique.
Go hawks
Respectfully disagree on IU. I mean it's not ugly or terrible but just basic and average to me
Im definitely biased as a Husker fan but I genuinely feel like Nebraska has the cleanest helmets in the Big Ten. Clean white no stickers, simple red N and a single Red stripe. Hard to go wrong with that
Huskers should be way higher, this list is absolutely dreadful
When he said N has the worst helmet in all college sports I was shocked.
@tokin9333 and @andrewmueller9986 , I agree with you all too
The Iowa uniform is a replica of the Pittsburgh Steelers uniforms. SUI(State University of Iowa) asked the Steelers for permission to replicate their uniforms and the Steelers gave them permission to do so. Of course, that was many years ago. Early Hayden Fry years, if I remember right.
Iowa has had 2 head coaches since the late 1970s. Hayden Fry and Kirk Ferentz.
Hayden Fry came to Iowa in December of 1978 and created the "Tiger Hawk" RIP Coach
Similar to how the Steelers have been for many years with stability at head coach
thanks for these college football logo rankings. So much fun, I don't agree with you much but I appreciate the work put in
It's kinda uncanny how sports success sometimes can influence our view of a team's logo. I don't think Michigan or Ohio State have tremendous logos, and I can't help but think Indiana would be higher if they were any good in football.
Penn State definitely has a great logo and IMO the best uniforms in college football.
Solid pick on the Hawkeyes 💪🏼 I've been a Hawkeye my whole life, and I think both the current logo and the throwback ones are awesome. The Tigerhawk is so legendary.
Interesting take on logos. Very subjective so there's really no right or wrong (except for the Oregon "O" not being number one 😄IMO). 🙃🙃
The “N” on the Nebraska helmet stands for “Nowledge”
I'm a 63 year old lifelong graphic artist and I mostly agree. I'm also from Iowa but it is just a great design. I designed the latest logo for the Arizona Cardinals but someone beat me to it.
The Iowa logo is a Tiger Hawk.
LETS GO HAWKS
Its kinda hard to rank different colored letters
I cannot get on board with your takes. Shows how subjective this stuff is
Michigan: "My logo's an M."
Minnesota: "My logo's an M."
Northwestern: "My logo's an N."
Nebraska: "My logo's an N."
Purdue: "My logo's a P."
Illinois: "My logo's an I."
Indiana: "My logo's an I with a U."
Big Ten: "Woah woah woah Indiana!! Let's not get too crazy with the logos now! We're going to have to drug test you!"
Nicely done.
I really appreciate your enthusiasm for these logos! I think Michigan State should've been higher tho!
MSU and USC should move up. PSU and IA are in the top three since they are great symbols of team nicknames. If MSU made the Spartan bigger, it would stand out more. The Trojan symbol should be used and drop the letters.
Sparty's S... no different than every other college letter but the white classical greek helmet (Kranos) logo on a field of green... best in college football!
also the thing you said about the O is very accurate
Isn’t that a lowercase “i” in the Iowa Hawkeye logo?
With you going to the new realignment I am really curious on how youll do the Pac"12". Gonna be a 20 second video. (Though really I am hoping you just throw in WSU and OSU in with the Mountain West)
I like Michigan but based on your standards they should have been much lower.
The Oregon "O" is YELLOW NOT Green.
It's both. As just a team symbol it's been portrayed both ways and on the helmets it varies depending on the primary color, yellow O on green and green or even black on yellow. Hell, in October it's pink. The "O" isn't constrained to any single color any more than our uniforms are and if you wanna go old scholl then remember that the old UO style helmets were also green lettering on a yellow field so...
@@jeremygilbert7989 OK, you are right. But consider the "O" behind Dan Lanning's Leather chair giving news conference for example is YELLOW. At Autzen stadium the LOGO and Name ( OREGON ) is YELLOW plus the "O" outside of Autzen stadium is YELLOW. I believe that YELLOW 'O" is favored more than the GREEN "O" EXCEPTION Matthew Knight Arena.
its green, when there is a white background
Iowa's uniform is similar to the Steelers? Other than the logo on the helmet, their main uniform is pretty much identical to the Steelers.
next I think you should do college mascots
Dang i really like the Maryland logo didnt expect to see it so low
The football team at Maryland went back to the script Terps logo that was first used in 1982 through 1991, which were the years that Bobby Ross and the late Joe Krivak were coaching and revived in 2001-2010 when Ralph Friedgen, a former assistant under Bobby Ross and Maryland alum was head coach and used in 2019 for Maryland's throwback for college football 150th anniversary and made permanent this past season under coach Mike Locksley, a former assistant under both Ralph Friedgen and Randy Edsall at Maryland. Whenever you see the script Terps anywhere in the country, it automatically associates with the University of Maryland because there are no other colleges in the country that have the Terrapin as their mascot
they need to bring back the turtle logo thats guarding the M
@@whatlol_e I would like to see Maryland mix the old and new with Testudo guarding the current M holding a waving the Maryland state flag aloft
I love the illini!!!
I’m a Purdue fan, but I think Michigan state should be top 3 probably 2 behind penn state with Iowa 3
Bro the glase on Michigan is crazy, I mean they have such a boring uniform, helmet and logo. I mean they have had the same uniform for forever.
So many teams have hand signals bro what do you mean 😭
not fr
Texas, Wisconsin, Washington, USC, Florida etc…
Oregon is not unique
Dude Northwestern definitely deserves higher the reason the "N" is the way it is because of the implementation of the "Northwestern Stripe," which is implemented in all their sports uniforms.
My middle school got sued for using iowas current logo but ours was red
Both UCLA and Michigan St should have been at the top also Minnesota.
why change the classic and I'm from Nebraska
No helmet stickers @ PSU.
16:43 That's all that matters. You're okay with me. O-H!
Oregon has there “O” sign, but we have the “dubs up” sign in Seattle too.
but o is more unique
It's always a pleasure to see Lanning reminding the Oregon faithful of the number of times he's beaten Washington.
And we have the "dubs down" in Eugene lol
@@kimisdaman And it's always amusing so see Fusky fans so proud of scoring 3 wins by as many points each time. Tell you what, you guys can earn back Border War bragging rights when you beat us, what, at least 9 more times in a row? Then you'd at least be even with us lol
Huskies have won what, six of the last nine? 70regon had their day, but that day has passed.@@jeremygilbert7989
when doing the SEC video make sure to put vanderbilt at the bottom! i can never forgive them for changing off of one of the best logos in all of college athletics!
I never could figure out why Vanderbilt would not use the star with a v in it cause that is their identity that they had for many years
Ohio State's logo is too cluttered to be ranked third. IMO they should be tied with Michigan's so they can continue with their bromance. Also, Michigan State's logo belongs in the top 5. (FYI I'm not a fan of any of these schools)
Go hawks
Next time do Big Ten helmets and os who wins
Booo, as a Illini I wish we still had the Native American head. But I love blue and orange easy on my eyes with my bears stuff.
Illini laughing all the way to a Big 10 basketball title in March
I was alright with the rankings until he had Oregon over Ohio State a plain O is better than a block O with Ohio state running through it one on now he said Oregon had a powerful O lol
I’m a UW huskies fan, but Oregon should’ve been number 1. Great logo, trash uniforms.
Going with a zero as your logo is definitely risky.
Maryland should have never been ranked as low as it did.
NUMBAAAA ONEEEEE!!!!!! GOOO HAWKEYES
GO BLUE 〽️!!!
It's obvious that Iowa has the best logo, but what I don't get is the "O" is ranked the second best? Are you kidding. It is the bottom.😂
As far as single letter logos go, there is an order of letter coolness, based on angles and symmetry: X, V, Y, N&Z(tie), M&W(tie), and that's about it for cool looking letters.
Oregon’s logo is a perfect match of Autzen Stadium. The inside of the like is also a perfect match to Hayward Field
While heaping praise on the Huskies' logo, you run a clip of Montana celebrating the most depressing UW loss in recent history. And you put the Zeroes at number two? Come on . . .
I’m a Montana alumnus so it felt appropriate

Nebraska N is just as iconic as Michigans M maybe not now but they both have History so your rankings doesn’t make since at all
Tradition means nothing?
its a logo ranking
MSU robbed and I'm a gopher
MSUs is awesome and should be top 4.
Hello. Purdue Pete is not our mascot.
The Purdue University mascot is a train - the Boilermaket Special.
The Purdue University logo is actually a griffin. The Block P is our secondary logo used on most branding.
USC's logo is on their helmet. But even if it was just the SC... it's certainly better than any in the top 10. Wild rankings.
Usc Trojan logo is the best! Not iowa
Problem is the warrior isn't their primary logo. The interlocking S and C which is nice but not elite is their primary. Warrior is great.
definitely biased
Iowa maybe top 5. Best? LMAO 🤣😂🤣
Who do you think has the best logo then?
who do you think? Indiana? Purdue?
Oregon basically just stole the Oakley logo. Can't really call it their logo either since they only use it for a few of their games. They don't have a classic look so they constantly change it. Trying really hard to be relevant before the Nike money dries up.
Jealous much lol sorry you're team sucks!
You make it seem like Oregon has been the only school to ever change or alter thier Logo.😅😅😅😅. Weak minded fool
people be hating on oregon for just having a logo lmao
No they didn’t. All it takes is a simple Google search explains exactly what Oregons O was designed after. When Oregon came out with their O, the Oakley O looked completely different.
