RIP Chris Cornell 🤘🏻💕
And his friend Chester Bennington 💔both mysterious deaths🧐
💜
I hope the TRUTH about their deaths get out soon.
So many strange things about their deaths that I have never seen anything like it.
//C~🇸🇪
One of the greatest voices of my generation, and yes, both deaths are suspicious considering their work fighting trafficking of kids.
@@Cablecol what ?mystérious??? Didnt heard yet for their system ....are you a kid? Or blind!?
This was the first song I heard after hearing my friend was killed by getting hit by a train. It holds a dark place in my heart and is hard to listen to.
I still remember my brother staring blankly out the window and my father in the back yard fumbling around with a squirrel feeder. Man... Memories are weird when crazy crap happens...
I've experienced something like that too when my mom passed away, it leaves you in a dark fog and messes with your perception. Sorry for your loss brother 🙏
I had a family friend who jumped in front of train, it's a horrible feeling 😢
That thing you guys were confused about at the first chorus is called a vibrating belt machine and it was used in the 50's as a method to lose weight. The theory was that by jiggling the fat around one's waist, it would break down and the body would then flush it out. In practice, it didn't do very much.
The Soundgarden is an actual thing in Seattle. It's a series of sculptures that each make a different sound as the wind blows off of Lake Washington. My friends and I spent a lot of time there at night. good times.
Rip Chris Cornell. This album is fantastic from beginning to end. It's definitely one of my favorite albums ever.
For me, back in the day , the line "black hole sun won't you come and wash away the rain" explained this whole song. I felt every word deeply!!🥰But then, when this music video first aired, and I saw it... it confirmed my thoughts.😊
That one line speaks volumes and to me the use of the word "rain" is really a play on words. I feel he was writing about his personal wish that a black hole sun would come and wash away the "reign" of filth, greed and fakeness plaguing society the world over.😉 Just my thoughts.🤷♀
Anyway, great reaction and no matter what the lyrics and video mean to you... you can't deny this is freaking killer tune!!!🙃🤘 Peace, light and love...💞
I read 'rain' as his tears and that he just wants it to be over, i.e. major depression
Nailed it 90's Noah's Ark
Back when MTV ACTUALLY played music videos, this video came out and it was just a wow moment at the time as well. This song is definitely a timed theme to the times back then and DEFINITELY to the times now. Society is trash right now and it is almost to the point where an apocalyptic event may just need to happen to fix, or destroy humanity! RESET BUTTON!
Born in the 80s and
Grew up in the 90s so i agree 1000%. That was the greatest decade!
I love Soundgarden RIP Chris Cornell
As a man in my 20s in the 1990s rock cross over grunge ,rap ,metal is the most inspirational time for me ,this crossover culture music blew my mind, it was real performed by real artists You knew that they could sing and play their instruments they were a band
Heaven send hell away no one sings like Chris anymore💚💔💚
DEFINITELY one of the trippiest videos ever, DOES seem to be a statement about wishing a shallow, superficial society would get sucked into a black hole. Fantastic song! Thanks for your reaction.
Agree 100%
That lady was on a band machine, it was supposed to distribute cellulite. One of my favorite Cornell songs.
I saw their 2nd to last show. They were amazing and I'd never have guessed about Chris. Broke my heart.
Soundgarden - Like Suicide is an awesome song from the Superunknown album.
I still get chills listening to him. My heart is broken ❤️🙏🏻🤘🏼 RIP CC 😘
I'm 59, a 70s rocker hippie chick 😊 But, with all the awesomeness of the music of my day, grunge is my favorite!
Hey Hollywood, I'm so sorry for your father man, fuck that guy. You deserved so much better... Anyway, awesome song and another awesome reaction, you two are one of the few reaction channels I keep up with. Keep it up!
Legend. First grunge band I got into. Fav song by soundgarden is the day I tried to live
One day what I want to see happen is Smokey asking Hollywood a trivia question
I believe this video is supposed to be showing how fake everyone is, and how he wished for Armageddon (our sun becoming a black hole), to come and wash it all away. That's just my take on it
Similar theme as AEnema by Tool
I had the pleasure of working a show for them at my college in the late 80s. One of my favorite groups at the time. I got to meet them all and Kim and Matt knew my name. Was an all day event for me and I was exhausted. A favorite memory. RIP Chris.
This is a good good song
Remember, this was MTV music video time. If you wanted air play no matter how great the song, you need a killer video.
I like that yall chit-chat in addition to listening to the music.
Man that was a magical time when this came on MTV and other music channels at least every 30mins. I was 20 when this came out.
80s baby here too! 😊 I agree: the 90s rocked! 🔥💯
I grew up watching "You Can't Do That on Television". That's where the slime originated.
you asked what was she doing. That's old OLD exercise equipment. It was called a Vibrating belt machine, It was believed by putting it around your stomach the vibrations would help you loose body fat by breaking up the fat from the shaking. It as you could probably guess didn't really work. It was very popular though for a good period of time. I was born in the 70s, and remember seeing them even them for a time.
When they were coming up with the idea for the video they decided they asked "what would it look like if you made a video while on acid" I think they succeeded!
Hollywood looks so confused while watching the video while Smokey was jamming. I can relate to Hollywood 😅
Chris'voice is unrivaled. The only thing that comes close as far as covers go is guitar legend Peter Frampton 's instrumental cover
I love Peter Frampton's instrumental cover with the talkbox "singing" the lyrics.
This song and this video is so 90's, but in the same so timeless... Just masterpiece. RIP Chris Cornell❤
What a classic never gets old 🤟
That's messed up man. I love you , both you guys and don't even know ya. Hope you are OK, don't let it get you down . If you and your dad can make peace great. If not keep doing you, you guys make the best stuff, and testing Smoke with trivia is always fun 😅
One of the best videos of the 90s.
Funny, I just saw this video 2 days ago and thought you guys should see this and here we are.
I can't remember all of it but the parody back when the song first released was "Asshole, son. You're a bum. Get out and mow the lawn. Asshole, son. you're a bum, you're a bum."
There's a black hole sun monument in a park in Seattle where he got the name of the song. I saw it when I went there last year it's pretty freakin cool
FYI, the Nickelodeon Green Slime originated from a Canadian Comedy show for kids called, You Cant Do That On Television.......and an actress from that show, Alanis Morissette, went into Music after the show ended. Im not sure if yall have reacted to her music but she has some good songs.
I loved that show SO much!
If rock n roll history was a party then the 60's was the invitation to the party, the 80's was the fun time at the party and the 90's was the hangover the next day
Bob Rivers did twisted tunes and the version of this song was “@$$hole son, mow the lawn.” I love me some parodies.
……I got the pleasure to see Soundgarden reunion not to long before Chris passed ! It was amazing. R.I.P. 😪
No more video’s for Hollywood…. 😂
Peter Frampton has a great cover of this song, it's all instrumental except for one part where he uses the talk box. Peter literally sings through his guitar, dude is a legendary guitar player and he's still touring to this day!
Good to know...I remember the legendary Frampton Comes Alive album in 8th grade-- yep I'm 60ish.
omg I forgot about him! We use to listen to him non stop in the 70s!
What a f*ckin banger, awesome tune. The memories of hearing that track when it first came out !The video seems more relevant today than ever before with all the madness around..R.i.p Chris Cornell 🇬🇧
This song is such a classic! I've got a suggestion for Nu Metal Monday, can you please check out "It'll Be Ok" or the music video for "Rearranged" by Limp Bizkit? Been suggesting those 2 songs every once in awhile for over a year now, y'all would definitely love those songs. Have a great day everybody! 🤘🤘🤙🤙
I forgot how great this song was.
60’s for me would be my fav era. My dad was at Woodstock and I love the music from that time. Fav singer of all time, for me, is Jim Morrison.
i loved watching this on mtv every time it came on. such great times watching videos on mtv back in those days.
Lol! That was "Black" by Pearl Jam! 😂 the dododododoooo 😂 love you guys!!
oh yea duh LOL
@@Hollywood6IX it was within the genre 😆 lol
Maybe the video depicts the moment before the oncoming apocalypse
Joe Cronin sang a parody called Half Black Son for the Kurt Angle/Jason Jordan wrestling angle LOL
Weirld Al Yankovic does a parody of this song called A$$hole Son.
94 was the peak of grunge for me. Some reason my original comment was deleted. I loved this album. I believe this was the same time frame korn came out and changed my view of music.
Me and my homegirl's favorite song and video when we were kids... miss her everyday... RIP Melissa ❤
“Blow Up the Outside World”
You gotta do LIMO WRECK by Soundgarden I think you guys will like it especially the lyrics..one of my favorite Soundgarden jams..
Yes 🖤❤️🖤❤️
YEEEESSS!!!💚💚💚
Have you ever heard Bob Rivers' "Ass Hole Son" parody of this? It's pretty good.
Lol I'll have to check it out
FYI, that is an old school "exercise" machine. You wrapped this belt around you and it would shake the fat away....or at least that was the idea.
Gotta plant some Screaming Trees around the border of the SoundGarden...
Brothers from another mother ! Much love and much respect to you guys ! You guys are so killer to watch !!! Checked out your own material ! Broskis!!! Both have bars !!!! Look. Please do a reaction to cliff burton ! Anesthesia back in 83 or just any of his solos or him playing” for whom the fucking bell tolls “ day on the green !!!! Metallica!!!!! Thank u thAnk you ! It will blow your mind ! Trust me ✌🏻
Hey Guys, love your reactions and love you guys because you seem genuinely fun to be around, as for your love of live performances maybe try a band which is not metal or rock but awesome in lyrics, music and live shows? talking about Twenty One Pilots with "Ode to Sleep" or "heaviydirtysoul", just a suggestion of course
what a total Classic!
Ma boi, if this is disturbing to you, I've got some REAL good suggestions for your 13 days of Halloween!
Also gotta get to Blow Up the Outside World, Jesus Christ Pose, and My Wave
R.I.P. Chris❤
“ Like A Stone” should be next!!!!!!!!
Y'all have to do a reaction to basically any song by Dirty Heads... Definitely check them out
I was 16 when this came out. 3 grunge bands I will only listen to…Anything by Chris and Layne. New group chout.
Old good times for music
I wish I had his voice no Cap
Band Screaming Trees
I always pair this song with Invisible Sun by the Police.
Wait.. how often i've seen this video. But this is the first time, I recognized the "ballerina girl" could possibly be that girl from the "no rain" video of Blind Melon?!?!
Am i nuts or whats going on? 😅
That was "exercise" equipment that would "shake" the fat off of you. My mom had one in the 80s.
As usual, it was my mom who had showed me this video back in the day when it came out on MTV. I had already heard of soundgarden, but she wanted me to check out their new video. And all I remember thinking at the time was WTF. Great song. I do think there's a meaning behind it. I just can't figure out what it is. Maybe it's how we're all gonna die.😊😂
SAY IRON! So the thing is during the 60's, you had Viet Nam, A huge cultural revolution happening with the Hippies and social rights, the Kennedy assassinations, the Moon landing, Nixon. I almost forgot to add it was one of the most explosive musical periods in history with the Beatles and the British invasion. What happened in the 90's again? But that surely is a bizarre video.
In my opinion, the oddest video ever on MTV. Great song, absolutely bizarre video
That video has always reminded me of a bad trip
Superunknown album 🖤🙌
Exactly Smokey! Making fun of society and the status quo. Growing up in a suburb back then, I get it 100%.
I think you might have mentioned this song before on a podcast
Black hole sun. Won't you come and wash away the rain.!
Dark and great
Great song. The video is jacked! Might need some shrooms to really understand it 😂
Plants in a Sound Garden: Screaming Trees
1994 was a interesting time.
April: Kurt Cobain dies
May: NiN releases "Closer"
June: Soundgarden releases "Black hole sun"
‘Infected Mushroom’ would also grow in the Sound Garden. Really different sort of band if yall want to check them out
Sure they've done them
Would blind melon grow in the garden of sound and mudhoney is a grunge band with a food name to look into soon
Hollywood. 🖤
Boys and girls that's called a music video
The first parody of this song I heard was Asshole Son
Soundgarden - the better Nirvana!
You call the 90's weird? Yes, but an intelligent and lovable weirdness, compared to the insane weirdness of today.
Soundgarden and Alice in Chains are both better than Nirvana, in my opinion.
The meaning of this video/lyrics reminds me of Aenima by tool, And them smokey said it after I typed this lol
I have to chuckle because the word "gak" became slang for cocaine....😅
You covered this song in the Podcast 50 most disturbing songs ever
Chris Cornell is my first love. Lol. May he RIP❤
Here's the things about the 1990s. You could still enjoy much of whatever the 1960s, '70s, and '80s had to offer, but that stuff was still relatively fresh, PLUS stuff from the '90s was fresh. Everything was fresher. Now everything feels like nostalgia amidst a lot of intentionally boring generic pop crap soundalikes. I think it's hard to beat the 1990s for that reason. Even MTV was watchable at the time. There were times when I would actually plan on watching MTV, which is definitely not the case now.
Love Chris
love this song, and video. i remember watching this on mtv back when i was 12 and 13, back in the early 90s.
I love all Soundgarden but my fave is Birth Ritual - Chris Cornell’s scream, Kim Thayil’s howling riffs, Ben’s dirty sludgy bass and Matt Cameron’s bonhamesque drumming and don’t get me started on the drop d tuning and odd time signatures - just brilliant!!
I LOVE Birth Ritual!!
Such a good song! Such a great band!! Such an amazing voice!!! RIP Chris🤘🏼
Also, Grunge on Nu Metal Monday is interesting.
Yall need to try peter Frampton-black hole sun
